@@Chris-vs6ll I think if it were a man that was being interviewed, you'd probably think he was real and raw. Just because she's speaking honestly about her experience doesn't make her headstrong or cynical. @@Chris-vs6ll this is a terribly non-insightful take. she is explaining how she came to terms with understanding how her ego could be a useful tool in this industry, but it also forced her to reconcile that if she wasn't humble, she would spiral into a cynical view. you either have a grudge, a weird bias towards her or women, or are just a little off put by people being honest about feelings you don't want to confront in yourself.

Meh, she didn't want to by the looks of it. She was in Cloverfield, and had she wanted to, with her bona fides of first gig being F&G, her attitude she describes here, etc. she could've. She was easily the most memorable aside from TJ Miller's Hud for obvious reasons. Speaking of, she's top billed in the voice description when you google it, and it's almost always cited in her bio bits. Hell, she *is* a "darling" these days, with the entire second season of Castle Rock wrapped entirely around her character for the main plot. True Blood in it's debut season, Masters of Sex Co-Star, and on and on. She can get the roles, it's a matter of weather she wants them or not. Seems to me like she likes the weirder, interesting ones, as opposed to going for whatever pays best for the sake of it. She's a Matthew McConaughey type, or Jonah Hill. If by darling you mean Megastar, a la Scarlet Johansson, RDJ, Chris Evans, it just doesn't seem to be her style. Remember she was hooked up with Marvel for one of the One-Shots, Item 47. I imagine she could've lobbied that into something more if she wanted it.
She needs to be in more stuff. Shes so real unlike most Hollywood. Man I wish this show had more seasons

She's not dissing Canada. As she states, when you are starting out as an actor, you just go where they tell you to go. You have no say. That doesn't just change your physical surroundings, but it changes who you meet, professionally and personally, Different friends, different romances, different professional opportunities. The whole direction of your life will change simply because of what a casting director or studio executive thought of you. Non-actors go through this when they choose a college. You aren't just picking a school, you are picking a destiny. Different friends, different careers, different spouses, different children. All because of what an admissions counselor thought about you.

:'o I just saw her on The Interview (with Seth Rogen and... James Franco of Freaks and Geeks! :'D). Seeing this interview made me wish I see more of her! She seems so authentic and down to earth! and deserves more roles than she's getting (like other people her have commented).
Everyone is misunderstanding the Canada comment: She’s reflecting on how early career success usually screws over actors in the long-run, how humility is good for actors wanting a long career, how the trajectory of her life would be totally different, and she’s thankful she didn’t get typecasted or miss out on other opportunities. I don’t think she’s saying anything bad about Canada or Vancouver at all. She’s just reflecting on how different things could have been-got better or worse. Having a supporting role for 10 years on a TV show would leave you few other opportunities and probably typecast you until you “age out” of that particular role. Happens all the time. That’s why a lot of teen stars kind of fade away, producers just don’t trust them outside what they have been doing. Also, these huge multi-year projects like a long-running TV show, or trilogy movie are huge personal and professional commitments. Not everyone wants that kind of career. Being, for example, a supporting role on House or some shit would have been terrible. Huge time commitment while other leading roles keep on popping up and being taken by others because you aren’t available.
