Busy Philipps Refutes the Clickbait of the Abusive James Franco Story from 'Freaks and Geeks'
Ойын-сауық
Busy Philipps wrote in her memoir "This Will Only Hurt A Little" about an incident on the set of "Freaks and Geeks" where James Franco mistreated her, and even though it had been aired in public prior to the release of her book, she received a massive backlash.

... this comment aged like Milk. We've just had 3 months solid of Women being angry in the Media and Streets. The Karenpidemic is here ! 👍👏
She makes a really interesting point about how, even in stories with her's which aren't about men or only include men for context, the reaction is always about the men's perspective or what the men thought. Even if it's a man abusing a woman, the public focuses on what HE did and why HE did it, not what SHE went through or how SHE overcame it or what it meant for HER. The man ends up being what the woman is remembered for. That, to me, is why this issue isn't as simple as "stop being sexist!"

@@gloriouslyimperfect Well I don't know about you, but when someone says to me we're good, that typically implies that no harm was done and we can continue being friends. It sounds like a lot of the blame is with the director. If one character is going to hit another, even lightly, in a script, they need to talk to the actors, ahead of time, and make sure everybody is comfortable. Its crazy not to.

They should reboot Freaks and Geeks with a new cast set in 1984 ( after the original cast has already graduated). It could be a series like American Horror Story where each season is a new cast/ story line. Of coarse it would have to be done by the original behind the scenes people that created the original. That is the only way you could reboot this show. Or even remake it set later and some of the original cast could be in it as older characters; imagine Neal or Bill as a teacher
