Yes, it's the challenge cup final which is the final of the cup competition for Rugby League. A sport very popular in the working class towns and cities of Northern England, as well as Australia, New Zealand, Tongo and also South Western France. Interesting history behind it, they split from the Rugby Union over professionalism and the game has now evolved into its own sport with different rules. In my opinion a much more entertaining version of the game.

Well i don´t even like Rugby, this was breathtaking..... tears in my eyes and I stay humble to this great hymn and I cry for this brave woman who has lost so much and still keeps her head high.

Sang this at my dad's funeral, so every time I hear it sung, it brings a tear to my eyes and I start crying. Beautiful song

I was there in 2015. Lizzie certainly brought a different angle on this RL anthem, beautifully sang in such circumstances. It certainly brought tears to my eyes.

Saw her interview on Songs of Praise, how she sang Oh Danny Boy without breaking down is beyond me, a great singer & a true professional

Still gives me goosebumps get massive respect for her and what's she's done

I was there that day great day but nothing as great and as brave as this lady in tears that day and in tears listening to it now #beautiful

I was there too. It was a hugely emotional start to an amazing rugby match. Fond memories.

What a belleza!!!!! It brings tears to my eyes. From New York City during these difficult times (Covid-19).

I'm today a 52 year old HKR fan, but now have lived in Birmingham for over 25 years. I was there on this day and Leeds made us look amateur, but this song remains with me. Every time I play this, it brings tears to my eyes.The result is not as important as the taking part!

Considering her husband had died from a sudden heart attack not so long for her to stand up and sing this so powerful makes you tingle it’s a powerful song specially for lizzy with so much behind it infront of all those People she’s got the heart of an angel 😇 rip Danny

Yep, Danny Jones of Keighley Cougars. Passed away earlier that year. This was unbelievable!

Yes, he had an undiagnosed heart condition and collapsed and died while playing in a match in London just a few months before this. 😢

Now, we miss the grace from this song...

I think you'll find that she's viewed as brave given that after the death of her husband, she managed to belt out such a wonderful song.... singing your heart out when you're that heartbroken takes a lot of bravery in my eyes.

Simon Warren She is a professional singer; her husband was a professional rugby player. I think that sooner or later she will sing the opening anthem. The fact that she did it shortly after he passed in the sport was in memory of him...She could still have been taken by grief. For goodness sakes, why do folks like you always have to get it spelled out for you? Connect the dots.

Prefer Hayleys Westenras version. This ladies voice not very strong, doesn't sound right.
