I just happened upon this video this morning, and it brings back such wonderful memories. My family and I lived on Sisters Island for several years, which no doubt is near you…the background scenes look very familiar. I’m 73 now, and can honestly say those were the best day of my life. Thanks for prompting my memories!

👍👍👍 I LOVE IT ! Do wanna adopt a old grand paw 63yrs old from the city, every homestead cabin needs a " old guy around " you know gas up the quads / boats / take care of the fishing gear / chop fire wood / tend to the dogs . video 13:49 - 14:19 love to see the dogs run free that's their waterfront . had a family cabin at Ruth Lake B.C. years ago ( health reasons back to the city ) this is still my wishful way of thinking Please enjoy your way of life good for you 🙏❤ give the dogs a hug

Howdy Brian, Diana!! Man, the pups are growing like crazy!!! Well, it's finally scheduled (if nothing happens to force a change of plans... like 90+ year old parents passing...). I plan on leaving south Texas on May 29 or 30th, and moving up to the property on the Kenai Peninsula near Ninilchik. I know, right... it's been a long time planning to get to this point. Now comes the real challenge... sifting, sorting, getting rid of everything that is not going (which is a lot). I'll be driving the truck, pulling a trailer with my motorcycle, new CF Moto 4-wheeler, and the truck has a topper on the back so that's where the 4 dogs will be riding. I'm guesstimating 10-12 days for the drive... maybe less if I find someone to ride along and help with the dogs, so I should be there by June 10th at the latest. I seem to remember that y'all went to fish the Kenai area once a year??? If you do come that way, let me know!! It would be awesome to meet up! I don't know if you follow "Sean In Alaska" or not, but he and I have developed a good friendship. He's wanting me to give him BRISKET lessons... so probably sometime in July or August we'll do that. Don't try to tell me that you don't miss good old Texas Brisket??? lol... We will probably do a joint video when we do the brisket. So keep that in the back of your mind should you happen to venture towards the Peninsula this summer. Those new boots and waders look really nice!! A couple of friends of mine from the channel "Wood and Waters Outdoors" just got a pair of those as well. I may have to seriously consider them. Take care guys!! Bill

And it's crew told to turn about and NOT sail into US territorial water? Shame when Katrina was heading toward landfall? The US ships all turned around and sped for safety. While we hoisted the mighty red, white and blue and sped into ... a CAT5 at full srenght. What is next? You cannot fly a helo during a active hurricane and save abandoned citizens from drowning? And when Bush pins metal onto 150+ chests? You cannot salute a US President with a 150+ middle fingers? Yes ... We can! Think it it as building a wall? Not a fence but that sea wall for New Orleans which? You cannot build on a swamp? Oh yes we can. Sure I get told you cannot live below sea level even when that is simple fact. Just like not selling out ocean going class designs when US ONR came knocking at our door. We just raised our drawbridge. With the big middle finger on the underside. Our goverment was shown the same when they told us to surrender to Nazi's. I do sometimes wonder what Witte de Wit thought being a politicans. While he was eaten alive for failing his people. There comes a time for thoughts. And taking action dangeling your balls on a rope picking Americans off their roofs you know. As if my lands of the free will ever go with ... it cannot be done. Ya need a rear 3 pt blade for the tractor. With the natural materials you have. You could build a solid road. And back-ups for the back-ups LOL. Know the feeling , we have double and sometimes triple. Town is 20min away and the city is 1hr. Great neighbours are family , our's is coming over with his mini-ex and big saw. Gonna give me a hand with the bigger trees in the build spot. Keep us updated on the boots. Been thru 3 pairs in the last 2 years. My current pair have maybe 5 mths of use. And are cracking in the sole and separating from the boot. Sucks when you pay $250 and they fall apart in mths.

@@AnAlaskaHomestead We have a chipper. So far my least used investment. It's a 3pt design. If it was a stand alone . I might use it more often. As for the auger. We rented a Stihl 1 man auger for fencing. I wish I bought one. So easy to haul thru the bush and with the clay we have. It was minutes a post to drill. And that was drilling max depth. As for boots , my current set of Baffin made it thru the winter. A few more weeks and they will be put away till fall. My summer boots will need replacing . Gets expensive , footwear should last longer than 6mths .
