I have to say I am really impressed with the copious amount of information in your videos...You are so thorough, smart, and truly genuine. I was simply cruising through You Tube videos and clicked on one of your money saving videos just for grins....well, now I am hooked....so much so that I went to the Dollar Store today and spent a whopping $6.00 and bought, a large bottle of fabric softener, alum foil, wax paper, a measuring cup, a day planner and a pack of ink pens.....can you believe it...yea I know this is probably tmi, but I was beside myself. I have never saved so much money in my life. I know it's baby steps, but you have made me see how much money I waste and I thank you for that. Keep doing what you do. You are my new hero.

I MADE THIS! I left out the salad, used spinach, no tomatoes, added cashews, put julienne carrots on my wrap. Very good but realized my lactose intolerance has gotten so I can't eat cream cheese... sucks because I love dairy. But my husband LOVED these and has since requested them. Homemade sauce to use as well: ketchup & mayo with a little garlic powder and chili powder.

The lack of a chopping board is hurting me :'( Remember you can regrow that lettuce by keeping the bottom in fresh water. For example a carrot top kept in a dish of water will sprout, the carrot greens are great in salads, they have a mild carrot flavour. Beetroots can also be used similarly. Windowsill salad, from offcuts. Nutrition rich.

I have have been throwing a large packet of boneless skinless chicken breast into a crockpot with some chicken bouillon, carrots, celery, etc. and cooking till the chicken can be shredded easily. I shred it all and it makes for fast mornings as I make my kids wraps like this for school everyday. I wanted a way to get away from processed lunch meats! My kids love it and I spend less money than when I was buying lunch meat for $8-$9 per pound. I haven't tried the cream cheese, I'll have to see if they like it (change things up a bit). I have found having a bowl of shredded chicken in the fridge also makes dinner time easier as well. I've done chicken enchiladas & chicken soup last minute when I've had a long work day. Thanks for the recent videos on saving money. I already do many of them, including making my own laundry soap (been doing that for 8 years now).

Why use chicken breasts, which are the most expensive cut, especially the skinless boneless ones ? You should try chicken thighs. Skinning them takes literally seconds and deboning is not difficult. Don't pay extra for something you can easily do yourself.

az gardener Same!😎 I keep a pot going all the time, just keep adding ingredients. I end up with a ton of stock....I freeze some, put some in fridge. Then use the stock to make mashed potatoes, pasta, veggies, chicken/rice, chicken/dumplings, everything lol Also, chicken leg quarters are cheaper and taste better (imo). Most of the flavour in chicken is in the dark meat. In my city you can usually find 10lb bags of quarters for 69¢ /lb up to 89¢ /lb....

Everything is expensive in Australia isn’t it? Especially food and housing. Things are getting that way everywhere these days. Buck Two yes it is getting that way everywhere. Yes I have an Aldi just down the road ,I can get there in my wheelchair and honestly if not for Aldi I don't know what I'd do. I normally spend $150 au a fortnight on food and I freeze excess fruit. There weather in changing I'll be back to making soups to freeze. I make my own bread and I never eat take out unless I have some spare cash. Anyway channels like yours are more popular now as people find it harder to stretch the pennies. Molly, "fortnight" is an English word, in every dictionary, so it exists here in the US as well. wannawatchu was just too fricken lazy to look it up, and giving us Americans an even worse name than we already had. You owe no apologies at all for using your English vocabulary. How are you doing now? Still having troubles? I know your winter is approaching, can you still get to your Aldi's during the Winter? Here is another channel that you might value... kzread.info Here is an old website that has some good ideas... under1000permonth.blogspot.com/2009/11/crock-pot-cream-cheese.html Both US, I'm afraid. I might add to Linda V's tip is you can scoop the cream out into a mixing bowl and whip it with a mixer. Less cost and more product than buying it whipped. Those wraps are a great idea! Healthy too!

Eat it. Then you don't have to worry about keeping it fresh for 2 weeks. I stopped buying veggies unless I am using them immediately. A lot less waste.

Breezy's Kitchen, but iceberg is lacking in nutrients. It is mainly water, and is a bit acid, I believe. It actually upsets my stomach!

You can literally buy a cutting board at the dollar store, but go ahead and ruin your countertops, costing a lot more to fix than a couple of bucks for the cutting board.

Try those plastic place mats at the dollar store, they can double up as cutting boards and my parents have been using them for years. They're dirt cheap, work great, and are bigger than most cutting boards. We've been using them forever and not a single person has cut through one yet.

The dollar stores sell cutting boards, you don't have to spend a lot of money for one. Get two, one for meat and one for vegetables.
