I stopped buying bcz of the planned obsolescence.. companies make junk so u keep shopping. & it keeps th ppl over seas n jobs of 100 hrs a week.. as well as child labor… if we stop shopping we send them a msg.. I have no a.c except 1 room & have used fans in windows 4 yrs.. I’m selling as much as I can to do some repairs & I don’t have a dryer… I repurpose leftovers..make my own laundry soap 1/8cup works great.. water down dish soap & put in an pump bottle… if more ppl did this they would send back msg to the oligarchs…beat them at their game…like Prepper Princess says u don’t need the stuff u think u need…more stuff is more work & more to clean ..

May sound rude and intrusive. But hear me out on this. What are you planning to do with all the money when you pass away? You said you don't have kids or a big family, so maybe you're planning to all of a sudden live a life of luxury when you're retired? Sorry I just genuinely want to understand the purpose of all that money?

Great video ❤️ All the people before getting married should watch it and take notes. Because bad things happen. Even if we think they will never do. As a person who made it through the divorce with 2 kids, being at that time 10 and 5 years old (and I was the one who left the marriage), I was only able to do it because I was freelancing stay at home mom and I had my own money. The money I kept in secret actually. Because my ex took everything that we earned and made together - that was his price to set my kids free and let them immigrate with me to another country. In my new marriage I am a working mom, our finances are separated. And I know that if anything bad happens with the marriage - I will survive. Love is love, but being ready to unexpected events is extremely important.

All women should have their name on a bill even if they are not working, to build a credit history for her in case something happens. Husbands who want to provide for the future will want to help his wife set up a way to create credit.

so very true, I know a few people who relied on their husbands/boyfriend to pay bills etc, and the relationship fails the women are lost. It must be told to the young women and guys also that they need to save and work to be responsible and also independent if things go wrong.

My husband is an antique collector and we have approx 250K in antiques along with property worth approx 250K. He won't sell anything and tells me when he's gone to sell it all and enjoy my life. I think we'd be better off selling the antiques now and Investing. Any advice?

There is no reason for a pre-nup if you both have no money going into the marriage. They only make sense if one has money prior to the marriage.

I am in Scotland, and it's fascinating to see how similar and different our meals are. Our gravey is dark brown! Is the instant mash cheaper? I did try some once and it was ghastly, I might have to try another type. I used to really work a chicken when my son was young we were so poor. I'd also get split peas and throw into the soup I made which made it nice and thick and added carbs and so on. Love your channel!

I get laundry soap at Dollar Tree for $1.25. I even started buying the laundry sheets instead of liquid. You get 10 sheets for $1.25, you can even tear them in half if you want. DT is great for laundry needs. It's also very different for families as opposed to 1 person. Vinegar is great for cleaning, and most times I can find a big jug at Dollar Tree for $1.25. They have spray bottles are there too.

Ugh. I recently retired at the age of 63 and I am trying to figure out where to move to (from New York - tooooo expensive). I've been binging your videos; as a result, I am seriously thinking of moving to a small city out-of-state where I can walk to just about everything. When I compute costs to keep a car, it is seriously a questionable item to keep. My insurance just doubled to $1900 and I'm told I am lucky it is so low. Gas costs me about $1200 year. If I saved this money, or put it towards rent in a nice community, it would be money better spent. I look at things so differently after I watch your videos. Thankful for sharing all you do, despite the "know-it-alls" who always have to start their sentences with..."yeah, but..."

Wife divorced me about 16 years ago after 29 years of marriage for another man who was married and ended up going back to his wife. Ex never worked, and tried to mead our relationship, but it was to late I was with someone else already. we have 3 kids, when we divorced they were already grown. Here in Cali it’s 50/50 split of assets. Today she lives with the kids broke and I became a millionaire from working and investing.

100% all of this! I've had the conversation with every female in the family as soon as they start working and getting into relationships, that they need to save money every month into an account (here we have ISA accounts where you don't pay tax on the interest and can put in £20K every single year) make sure that you cannot take it out from there without paying a penalty if you do (stops you dipping in) and with a fixed interest rate and make sure to move it once the term is up into the next account with the highest interest for the longest term you can. Do it every single month without fail. You do not need to let the boyfriend, partner or siblings/parents or anyone else know about this account, it is your secret and you need to view it as your running away money should ever the time come where you need to get out of a relationship, you can, if your parnter leaves you then you have something to fall back on, should you get to retirement age with the same partner then you have a lovely secret to share with them.

Why do you give this advice only to the women? If a woman should have a "secret" account, so should the man or partner. Actually, there should not be "secret" accounts in a marriage. Joint accounts and/or separate accounts, yes, but not secret.

  • @twinkletoes8099
    @twinkletoes80993 сағат бұрын

@@Jenny-dg4sb Because historically women will be the ones worse off in the event of a divorce, especially if they have been stay at home monthers and more so if later in life so they won't have built up a pension or had the chance to grow a career. Reading lots of these comments this comes across as true. I am a woman and I'm looking out for the women in my family so that they have some peace of mind should the worst happen to them.

I don't know if this is a joke or not but if it is true, then that's the American dream come true for him. Same here. I am 53 and retired at 50. One thing I did do to retire early was to get out of the 401K and IRA programs. Bought rental real estate and I am now a Limited Partner in about 3500+ units. I do not work.

  • @ChloeCarter-kd7gz

I only contribute 5% to get the full company match, that’s it. The 401K plan is designed for you to work until you are about dead. Also, the government does not have their hands on it yet either.

  • @AshleyKeith-vw7ws

My wife and I live off of our 401K. We don't work. I recommend highly to everyone to build your 401K or Roth IRA's as an alternate revenue stream in retirement to your Social Security.

  • @AshleyKeith-vw7ws

An observation on 401Ks is when it gets over 300K it starts to accelerate. When you get over 500K it can really accelerate as the stock market grows.

I wish I had done this, but there was no indication to me, at all, when we got married in the Catholic Church, that my husband would be thinking only about his d***, open himself up to some creepy, corrupt, desperate, money-grubbing family from Higganum, who should ALL be in federal prison, for life, because their creepiness continues, and empty himself out completely + $45,000 in credit card debt. The present value of all of that money has to be approaching $1M!

In divorce mediation, my ex did not say that he was losing the love of his life, nope, "I am losing my safety net, my right hand." Wow! I have never had a safety net. He had a hammock. I cannot get with another person ever again as I will never be the "safety net" for another "partner". Divorce removed the weight around my neck. We were never evenly yoked in the financial responsibility department. Nope, not going down that road again. There is peace in being single. I am not where I want to be financially at 65, but I never could've retired if I was still married to him.

I was the bread winner. Husband didn't! After 33 yrs he became more aggressive, anger blow ups, he said he didn't want me, wasn't attracted to me and was not in love with me anymore. This happened after I was severely injured on job which rendered me disabled. So at 50 I left with nothkng!!! Except my life and I work daily to have an abundance of peace.
