Seems like Thought Criminal has not ever been to Nouakchott or anywhere in Mauritania. He speaks as if he has personal knowledge, but he has none. I lived there for two years (2003-2005) and I can attest to the fact that there is, indeed, cultural diversity. If you think that all Africans share the same culture and language, you are mistaken. There are differences among all the cultures there. It is obvious from his post that Thought Criminal has deep prejudice against Muslim people. Scroll down and you see this hate-filled post: Let me put it this way, I believe that Europe should allow every Christian refugee in from the Middle East but zero Muslims. Now, you can see, from this point of view, I'm fine with Arabs, I am not fine with Muslims. Why? 1. Muslims have attacked Europe for thousands of years. 2. Islam is an insult to Christianity, the religion that Europe was founded from. 3. Islam has an express desire to make the world submit to it. 4. Islam has killed more people than any other religion. 5. Islam ideologically is much more strict and all encompassing religion. 6. Muslims have caused a lot of damage to Europe's Unity. 7. Muslims have committed terrorism in Europe. 8. The ideals of Islam are diametrically opposed to those of secular Europe. 9. Islam is political in nature, more so than any other religion. It has its own laws called Sharia. 10. Islam codifies slavery, stoning, amputation, and murder of those who leave. Da Vinci said that there are three kinds of people: Those who see, those who see when they are shown, and those who will never see. Thought Criminal's preconceived ideas are blinding him. He will never see. I post this not as a means of arguing with Thought Criminal, but as a means of keeping open my hand of friendship to the warm and welcoming people of Mauritania, who welcomed me and encouraged our friendship during my two years living there and my two return visits.
