When we first moved here we lived in Park Slope and owned a car and used street parking. It was a pain & when we moved into a Manhattan it made no sense. We primarily use the subway to get around & have found VIA to be our favorite ride sharing app.

funny thing is when I drove to Ohio, one girl said her rent for a 1 bedroom was $400 and I was like stop it lol. Here in DC you pay $250-300 per month to park at you're apartments garage, then another $250 a month to park at work. I was spending $1100 a month on gas, my insurance (Mercedes, Toyota) was $900 per month.
I move to NYC next week and tbh I am SO stoked to not have to drive anymore 😅 I am pretty excited to just walk and use public transport wooo

Does NYC have a monthly "bike party"/cruiser ride? Meaning a group ride around the city, usually with a stop(s) in a park for drinks and then ending at a bar or beer garden. I lived in Boulder, CO one summer, and they had a really fun weekly cruiser ride. Now I live in DC, and they have a fun monthly bike party ride. Always a great time to cruise through the city at night with your friends and strangers, all of whom share our love for bicycles. :)

I lived in New York for 20 years before moving to Ohio after I married my husband. People were shocked that I didn’t start driving till I was in my 30s. I told them that in New York, a car was definitely not a necessity. After 8 years in Ohio, I moved back to New York. I knew instantly that my kids had become New Yorkers as they would cheer every time we found a parking spot 😀

I lived in NYC three different times (Queens, Brooklyn, Bronx) and never owned a car or anything else with wheels. The subway system is the fastest way around the city with a monthly pass being the best bargain. I've traveled and lived in a lot of different places in the world, but no place I've ever been has had a better public transportation system than Gotham City. I 💕 NYC.

I always laugh when people from out of NYC ask me why I don't have a car. I always say because I don't need one to live here lol. Honestly, unless you need it for work or can afford it using rideshare apps, public transit, bikes/ scooters and walking is better than owning a car in NYC.
Public transportation is so within reach and there's multiple train, buses, ferries alternatives to get from pt A to pt B. Nyc has the best transportation system.

I love watching your interesting channel Mr. Conover, also really love your marvelous NYC apartment tours as these apartments really look cool and breathtaking which really makes me want to live in NYC one day, hopefully everyone else has also enjoyed your channel! Wishing you the best too! Plus I don't really think driving in NYC would be that hard however yes in reality it would get really stressful just like in Paris or London where the traffic is even worser as it is hard to find a space to park and stuff, still NYC is a cool place to visit!
Public transportation is so convenient but damn I still want that Tesla Model 3

Nyc is shit to live in
This video is a little misleading, you talked about New York City, but the video was pretty much centered around Manhattan, negating the fact that NYC is composed of five boroughs (Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, Bronx and Staten Island). It's mostly people who live in Manhattan who do not own cars, or drive for that matter, but for many people living in the other four boroughs, it's quite the opposite. Also our roads are incredibly awful...which is ironic considering the fact that there's ALWAYS road construction going on :/. A brand new car would get eaten alive in our bumpy, rough, pothole filled roads. The MTA is also not really reliable, at least when it comes to trains. Huge and prolonged delays, signal malfunctions keeping trains stuck in tunnels, abrupt route changes (which will most likely lead to the trains skipping your stop), and the train cars get insanely packed! It's honestly a very a clustered city, and I've lived here for 10 years.
@FavrrYT

Still love the videos though!
@JoeyHoogendoorn

It's funny how in NY some people just hold the stop sign at road constructions the entire day. Most of all, it seems that everything is under construction at the same time, but they only have the manpower to work on 10% of the projects. Doesn't seem to be very effective. Road quality is shit, but that's probably a combination of harsh winters, lots of traffic and heavy vehicles, as well as insufficient funding. Driving a new car in NYC is scary, probably have to get an alignment each month too.

Queens is not the city, Brooklyn is not nyc, bronx and staten island are CERTAINLY not nyc. New york yes, not the city. Do the research bro, you are wrong.
