I was born and raised in NYC (I still reside here) Excellent Tips, but I would never view NY as Safe or Safer in the last few years. I live in Jamaica Queens (high crime rate area) and I work in Manhattan right across the street from from Madison Square Garden. Alot of crime has been happening both in and out of the train station in that area, during rush hour and earlier. It's just way too many homeless and substance users on the street, and sometimes police are not everywhere. I leave work at 10 pm, and when the cops are not around, all the tricky tricky people are out and about. I love the nights I leave work, and I see police and all of the tricky people are no where to be found. Plus, as an ESL Teacher, my students don't speak English, and I often worry about them being targeted due to the language barrier. ⚘️

I’ve lived in NYC all my life ( more than 5 decades) and I’m a lot older than the host so down playing the increase and intensity in violence is beyond naïveté. Not through the crack or heroin epidemic we’re stores occupied by the police or most items stored behind sealed glass. Never did we have the amount of blatant disrespect for law enforcement or outright deviant behavior. New York no longer exists this is sanctuary city crime is legal it’s very dangerous ‼️please don’t come here. With all due respect she’s lived in sanctuary city all her life but she’s never lived in NYC.

@@xmuta Yes...I've seen a few. The family who has owned their Chinese Restaurant for years, lives right upstairs from their restaurant. I have also seen a fee Jewish Families walking around at night I guess looking for property to possibly purchase and invest in. Many spanish speaking families live on my street also. I would say Jamaica is becoming a little diverse now. I think that's good👍🏽

I have seen cops chase people who hop the turnstile or run through a gate and I've seen people get assaulted piss and shit on stations cops do nothing waste of tax dollars transit should be free it's dangerous insanely and overpriced

When I visited NYC we did get into an unmarked black suv at the airport to get to our airbnb. It was super clean and they offered free Fiji water and took us where we wanted for cheap lol it worked but I wouldn’t do that again if I were alone. I was with family that time

I live in Boston I take the T (subway) all the time i dont drive so thats how i get around ,,, all the stuff you said about the subway i do it here .. ive seen people fall in the tracks more than once.. i stay way back ..from the tracks when my friends come i tell them the same thing stay away from the tracks.... have to be alert at all times..

The tip about the weapons got me super scared... Do I really have to get a weapon? O_o... I'm starting to rethink if I actually want to visit NYC by myself.

@@thebossman60 - There are many homeless people with mental issues roaming the streets and subway. You should be fine if you keep your eyes open, use common sense, and stay away from certain areas of NYC.

What you do if someone pulls a gun or just even a knife? Thats my concern, I live in Germany but my family is from Serbia. I really have zero fear when it comes to being in Germany someone with a knife or gun is very unlikely. But i know when i am in Serbia someone pulling a gun could be possible and if thats the case you are screwed. And i think NYC is also like that (or even worse i guess), some people could carry a gun or a knife and are willing to use it.

Gosh! I live in Dubai and consider relocating to NY and I just cought myself that you would never find such videos for Dubai as it is extremely safe for women except probably Karama late at night. We don't lock the entrance door in the highrise I am living in. I've been to Paris twice, stayed both in a posh 5* hotel in Saint-Honoré and in a northern suburb not far from Saint-Denis that is mostly populated by migrants. I definitely saw sex workers and people that looked like smugglers but I must tell you for the 10 days that I walked there after 11 PM I felt pretty much save there to the extent I would refuse to take a bus and would walk wearing mini shorts alone for nearly 4 km. Also I would use my phone all the time in touristic places. My friend's camera was stolen though. So I don't know if you say NY is like Paris it's ok. Numbeo stats are pretty much ok in comparison to Paris.
