I am an American retiree living in Hungary for 3 years already. I love it here. I would never leave to return to the USA. I own a house here and feel safe in my village in rural Hungary. I hate A/C and I don't need it at all here in this 120 year old adobe farm house. Even in the warmest part of the summer my house is cool inside if you close the windows in the morning and then open them after dark. I love the food and the people.

Hello! I'm Kriszti from Hungary. It was nice to hear how much do you love this country. A lot of hungarian people aren't proud of their nationality, but if those people would watch this video, I bet they would change their mind. You remembered the hungarian people that they are living in a nice, beautiful country, with a lot of traditional thing, and with a hard history that Hungary survived. You made me smile with this video, I'm happy to hear positive opinion about Hungary. I wish you everything good!

If you are not use too AC you will get sick. I`m from Poland we are not using AC too and I get really sick two times in summer once when I was in dentist who get AC on full, second when I walk a lot in the hot and then go to the shoping mole. So this is not a story for naughty children but reality for people who grow up without such expensive and unnessesery device. So don`t be jugmental ;). And Hungary is amaizing country. Love culture and people.

Thank you so much, at the age of 7, in 1956, my parents were separated. My brave mother picked up myself and two brothers and fled. Not easy, the tanks were on our doorstep as we were a few minutes walk the central market and freedom bridge, we walked past bodies laid out, stopped several times and with a string bag of a little food. We were paying for transport, only to turn the corner and the truck was blown up, we finally got to the Austrian border, crossing wasn’t fun, I remember we were shot at, they missed. My first trip back was when I was almost 50 years old. Since then, my husband and I have been to visit from Australia, longing for another time, thank you for your experience, it’s heartwarming ❤️

I visited Hungary 2017. Such a beautiful country. I was in Budapest and Pec. The transit system was fabulous! Didn’t take long to learn. I did also love walking their beautiful streets and tasting their magnificent cuisine. Buda is different from Pest. You must visit both! During my stay, I visited Croatia, neighboring Hungary; another beautiful gem in Eastern Europe. Also Austria (oh my heart beats for Austria!) Had a trip scheduled this past March but Covid 19 cancelled that. Can’t wait to visit again. Thank you for your beautiful video!

This video will be definitely one of those which I will share with whoever asks about my origins. Koszonom! Perhaps the Hungarian aversion to air conditioning is genetic. I'm of Hungarian ancestry with all my grandparents being Hungarians and I also loathe air conditioning and find that exposure to sir conditioning brings on symptoms of stress, especially a severe cough. Which is one good reason why I would never want to relocate from the northeastern US to points south unless absolutely forced to do so by circumstances.

My grandmothers old adobe house is naturally centrally air conditioned because of the thick adobe walls. As most of the houses are in the areas outside if Budapest proper. I almost froze in July. I borrowed grandmothers winter night gown. Anyway they could not afford air conditioning. You need to forget about air conditioning when in Hungary. Yes, my aunt has a large freezer and also a large stand up refrigerator. Of course she does not live in a small apartment in Budapest.

I live in Britain and have lived here since i was 3 but I'm Hungarian and my cousins and grandparents live back home in Hungary and whenever I go to my relatives houses in the summer I'm sweating but you do get sick from the ac!!!! I love it but I get sick really quickly XD Don't do AC, kids! The plants are really beautiful, all my family has large gardens or live near large amounts of wildlife. My grandpa has a farm but he usually doesn't let us back into the areas with the trees because he's scared we're going to trample them and I get it. He lets us play with his dog, feed the chickens, collect eggs and look at his shy little cat that he took under his arm because it was a stray. I don't like the food but I'm really picky so don't blame me :p. The desserts are just *chefs kiss* and I really love 'hús leves' and all the different flavours of ice cream... sport szelet tho... I'm drooling There is soooo much history in the buildings. I always thought my relatives were being cheap and I recently found out that those houses are around 20-40 years old or so and they were trying to preserve it. Maybe they were being a little cheap though XD also my grandma lives on the top floor (10th) of an apartment building and were allowed to go on the room sometimes where there are wire walls so you dont fall. You just look over the city and its suprisingly peaceful! Also the amount of trust is just amazing, they put theyre stuff out in a lil room and most of the time noone ever steals. The malls are fantasticly massive, i havent seen anything like that in britian (in america there must be alot more) and some of the shops are merged. Everyone is so nice there i just- Maybe im biased, but i really love my home country!!!!

The 10 stories you are talking about we call them "Panels" and they are sorta hard to maintain on the outside so they might look rough, but the actual flats inside are usually pretty nice. Some of them are actually 2-3 room flats too, so they are not even that small.
