JULY 2017 -
On this trip to Munich, Germany, rather than staying in a hotel, we decided to rent an Airbnb apartment in a local neighborhood in Munich. The prices are not cheap in Germany, but I think in comparison to what you get for a hotel room, it's still a very good value. I was with my wife, my wife's sister, and our baby Micah.
In this Munich apartment tour, I walk you through the apartment. It's just a 1 bedroom apartment, but it's really spacious and would be very comfortable living for a single or couple.
One thing I love most about living in Germany or renting an apartment in Munich / Germany, is that German design and the awareness of natural light in the house. During the day, you don't need to use any electricity for lighting.
Thank you for watching, I hope this gives you an idea about accommodation options in Munich, Germany if you plan to visit or to live in Germany.
If you want to use Airbnb, you can use my affiliate link here: goo.gl/yWJmFA to get $32 off your first booking.

The kitchen style is called Frankfurter Küche and the idea behind is, that the wife, who is alone at home, and prepares the meal for the working husband, can easily reach to both sides of the kitchen. Nowadays we have "Wohnküchen" which are bigger and allow to cook, eat and live as a whole family. More like an american kitchen.

I was born in munich and still love there. The city is so hilariously overpriced. Finding an affordable property in Munich is like winning the lottery. Even these old apartments from the 60s are overpriced. And Good luck in finding a house with a garden. You either have to be a russian oligarch or a rich heir.

One of the best things about your videos is that they are never TOO shaky. I have unsubscribed from channels for that, it makes me feel ill to watch. Your content interests me, but also your camera-work or whoever is behind the cam is quite good. Minimal shakiness Thank you.

That was really nice. It's exactly the same as in Sweden. Same layout. Same type of neighbourhood. Same construction. Hahahaha really nice because I have some great memories from Sweden. Specially those two function windows. Loved them the first time I saw them back in 2011 when they were renovating the whole complex windows where I was staying. I'm not sure if in Germany it's the same. But in Sweden they name the houses and apartments by kitchen, bathroom and living spaces. Like that place would be a kitchen plus one bathroom plus 3 rooms. You see if you use all of them as bedrooms or dinning room or living room. But they name the amount of rooms not the use as in other countries. Great video. Loving your smile and hope you and the family are having an amazing time. Keep enjoying

Maria I think you got something wrong, normally at airBnb you pay the room no matter how many people sleep in there, but you have to tell how many people will be there. But it won't change the price. The calculation was only, if you would break it down to single-pay per person, it would be 53€ and thats pretty cheap. It wasn't counted per persons ^^

I don't think that Germans are aware of the public relations boon it was to have Americans servicemen and their families stationed in Germany. Most found Germany and Germans similar to America and Americans and what was different, they found admirable. Many came to love Germany and its people and they spread the word back in the United States, helping to lessen the negative, outdated stereotypes that lingered (and still linger) there. Heck, many have opted to stay in Germany.

Munich is my favorite city in the entire world. I lived there for two years in my early 20s, and would never trade it for anything. I lived over near Isartorplatz on Herrnstrasse. The building is no longer there. It was removed sometime during the 80s and an old Roman ruin was excavated out from under where I had lived.
