99% percent of jobs in Tennessee pay more than Minimum wage . I’m cna but for a retail example wallgreens starts out at 13-14 hr for cashiers Amazon 17 hr list goes on so if you don’t have experience or a lot of education , that’s not a problem here !! Also if you won’t to work there are jobs everywhere even during the pandemic. I got laid off due to that and instead of hopping on the Unemployment bandwagon I had a new job in just a few days right down the st from my house and had several interviews in between . Not sure where this girl lives but I’m in Nashville area

If anyone moves from a big city or big state with cities like NYC, LA, San Fransisco, Chicago, etc and want to move somewhere more rural....just don't change the politics of the state. It's rather annoying for people that have lived in some rural states for very long time or for people that moved there for that reason only to have people from the cities come and ruin it. They come for low prices, low taxes, low regulations, etc etc etc...and then vote for the opposite. Just plz don't do that lmao. If you do the opposite, rural state to big city state, good luck. Super expensive homes and rents it's unbelievable in nyc where I am. :/

If you’re a Californian moving to TN here are some simple cons I have collected over the last 2 years: 1. Kinda depressing weather half of the year. 2. VERY hard to find good food. 3. Prepare to be tailgated every day. 4. Fast food workers being sassy/rude is very common around here. 5. The TN natives are more closed off than Californians and tend to not ask you many questions at all, but will talk about themselves for hours. Trust me. These are my only cons! If you can look past these things then it’s a great state to move to!

The only thing I disagree with is nature. I think overall California has better natural beauty. You have the coast, mountains, desert, etc in California.

You are correct but every year it’s the same sugar different day….wild fires then it’s rain followed by flash floods…then the constant complaint it’s raining…omg I hate the rain. I AM A NATIVE Californian 70 years and hate the same weather every day…the weathermen really don’t have anything new to report as it’s the same same every day. As I write this Big Bear has a fire…and other wild fires through out the state destroying what beauty is left it gets destroyed. I want to get out so fast but like most renters no $$$. Seniors are not respected however like she said kids are not disciplined…oh good the future of Ca are the spoiled brats.

Tennesse. I don't even live in Tenessee but anything is better than California. And I was born and raised in this craphole.

Good people are more important to me than good weather..They actually create the weather for me. I'm OK with rain, snow, or a hot humid day, as long as I'm in good company. So TN wins on weather for me 🤠

Welcome to my home state been here most of my life. Tennessee has fifty state parks an there is about as many waterfalls. An yep we get 55-65 inches of rain a year. Keeps air freshener an grass an trees green. I have lived in California myself for a little while I don't think it even compares. An we have lightening bugs at night some call them firefly's. Enjoy an welcome west Tennessee country boy.

We move to Tennessee 2 years ago love it. We moved from California lived inland and on the coast the coast in southern California is great but go inland or high desert mountains sometimes not so great.

Most people leaving california are doing so because they don't like the politics, pretty dumb that people assume it's the liberals trying to move to the conservative states.

Wear boots when walking in the Tennessee woods. Timber rattlers and Copperheads are present and difficult to see. They can hide under debris in your yard too. A little common sense is all you need to stay safe. Buy some snake tongs if you live in the sticks (Good for relocating the little buggars).

All true. Saw a timber rattlesnake yesterday. A cottonmouth bit and killed a friend of mine's dogs. Little Harpeth River (Brentwood) is in their back yard.

Morristown, Tennessee actually has some good Mexican restaurants! Morristown actually has the highest percentage of Hispanics in the entire state.

Nope, that would be Shelbyville. Great Mexican grocery stores with authentic restaurants in the back. Cheap and GOOD food there and even with the language barrier it's worth a try.

This is hilarious but also terrifying that me and my roommates always wanted to move to LA because we wanting a career in the film/TV industry one day! Yes there is other states that have the film industry too! We live in Idaho, LA is closer! Lucky for us is that we have a homeless crisis everywhere in CA over 100,000 people, we get to talk to them!🤦🏼‍♀️😂 The high cost of living, the wildfires, the earthquakes, the high income taxes and other things more! Moving to LA might be the worst decision we have ever had!

My dads white, moms Asian, and we’ve lived in the Bay Area all our lives! I'm a Fil Am who is a Tennessean all of my life. I love my home state but it will be a culture shock for you. I live in ETn and we have a small community of Asian American unlike the bay area where it's the predominant population. I get culture shocks whenever I visits CA...lol. Nonetheless, I think it's better than CA no offense. Our Level 1 Trauma center are ranked in the top 5% nationally.

I’ve grown up in Tennessee no where else I would love to be at right now. I’ve grown up in a small town PV (Pleasant View ) correct me if I’m wrong PV is the second safest town in TN

You can't find a better place than Bardstown or Danville, Kentucky. Both are located in the bluegrass region and are beautiful towns brimming with history. Bardstown is 45 min. from Louisville (our largest KY city); Danville is 45 min. from Lexington (2nd largest city). Google 'em and see what you think.

Check out Johnson City it's a beautiful place to retire. It's very bucolic but then closer to major cities like Charlotte, Nashville, and Atlanta. About 3-4 hours from those cities.

I live in Morristown. 50 miles from Knoxville, the Smokies and the Tri-city Area. My husband and I are retired and love it. It's large enough to have plenty of local restaurants and shopping and small enough to not be too crowded.

May I ask where are you from in California and where did you move to in Tennessee? I lived in California all my life and we are preparing for our escape to Tennessee hopefully in April of 2021. Right now I live on the central coast in a small coastal town next to Monterey. We are looking to move to eastern Tennessee johnson city/jonesborough area. The rain in tennesse is nothing like Florida and also there winter in nothing like Wisconsin

There are different Mexican regions of cooking throughout the US. Depending on where you’re from, that style will be whats ”authentic” to you. Chinese is another one. Peking, Hunan and Szechuan are more common on the east coast and crater on the west coast. Of course ,most of these styles have been somewhat Americanized. Great video!

@@circesoul2218 I live here in Tennessee at the foothills of the Great Smoky Mts. I can see the parkway up high from my windows. Very small town. I was raised in Newport, a hop, skip, and a jump away, an estimate of about 6000 people, Cosby less than that I think. I love my mountains, and would not want to live anywhere else. I can't imagine living in a large city even Knoxville traffic gives me the shakes.

There are a lot of good things about living in Tennessee. The great thing that makes this State great is the fact that many Tennesseans are members of a Church because they believe in God and choose to worship Him and follow Jesus. This makes Tennessee voters conservative. They mostly vote Republican except in the large city counties like Shelby, Davidson, Knox, and Hamilton which vote for Democrats. If you plan to move to Tennessee, please leave your liberalism and atheism in the crap-hole State you are leaving! Don't turn Tennessee into a mini-California.

Fall is beautiful here, colorful, humidity drops, temperatures are generally warm and mild, and the bugs are gone.

I’ve been debating in moving there I live in California but there honestly seems to be just as high of rent in Nashville and less pay.

Tornadoes are more prone in Middle and West Tennessee. East Tennessee has tornadoes but more of a rare occurrence than the West and middle of our state

Job wages and the kind of job market in most cases do even out wherever you live...law of supply and demand.

California salaries are high ! If you are poor or struggling middle class Make sure you get a high paying job in the state you are moving in ! Or otherwise is not worth it

Everyone smokes????? I have lived in Tennessee all my life. To use the words Always and Everyone is not fair. The majority of people in Tennessee are NOT smokers and you cannot smoke inside of any restaurants or public buildings.

Some towns spray for skeeters. But the bugs aren't THAT bad. You get used to it. I hate ticks but don't have much of a problem with them because I'm not real fair skinned. And everything depends on how far into the sticks you want to live.

I love Tennessee, I don't even like driving through blue states.

If you think TN weather is bad try the upper midwest.

Can you address the minority topic? I'm Asian American and have lived in California most of my life. But I'm more conservative and want to move to Tennessee. Will that be an issue with me not being white?

If you move to an area where there is a big city, you will find more diversity. However, I live in a smaller city that is probably 75% white, 15% black, and 10% Mexican (that’s just my guess), and you don’t see a lot of diversity here

@darren Darren I just lived in Tennessee for 7 months and like you I'm an Asian american raised in California. The people are very friendly and God fearing. It is homogeneous though and it made me very anxious with the lack of diversity. If you want to buy a home and start a family and you're okay with the lack of diversity, I'd give it high marks. Forgot to mention I lived in NYC for 12 years so access to multiculturalism is very important to me at heart ... Tennessee was the first place I actually gained a little bit of weight because of the southern way of life ... Very slooooow. Hope this helps brother. G-d bless you!

As a californian resident, I find it sad how my state has become one of the worst states. Our governor is also a tyrant.

Hi Hannah. My husband and I and I are thinking of moving there really. I watched this video earlier last month and commented and you were so sweet to comment back. I have only encountered one snake in my year of living here, so I wouldn’t say that they are too much of a problem. I do not fish at all, but I do live around TONS of rivers and lakes, so I can imagine that fishing is great out here

But I'd rather trust the Lord than family. Anyway can't afford to move, but can't afford to stay. Ugh

I live in Eastern Tennessee and I go fishing every week yeah the fishing is pretty good. There are tons of lakes and rivers.

Who, in their right mind, would MOVE to Kaw-lee-fawn-ya?

If the minimum wage was 12 dollars your gas would cost you 60 dollars to fill up ur gas tank.

When I was working in high school, it was $10 an hour, but it has gone up since then. That’s what I was referencing to

I think California has beautiful Nature- except for the forest fires.

So California just has the weather going for it, Tennessee it is, thank you

I'm considering moving here but it looks like people with third party political views aren't welcome. I don't morally feel comfortable voting blue or red but I'm also not trying to change the politics of the state.

@@nadiia8x that’s not a bad thing. Tennessee is just fed up with democrats moving here, and voting for officials who implement similar policies that made them want to leave their previous state. It’s counterintuitive. On top of that, many democrats dislike TN because how conservative the state is (outside of nashville and memphis), as if they didn’t know where the hell they were moving to. As long as you can get along with the people here, which isn’t hard, and know that it’s pretty conservative state then you’ll be fine. Just maybe limit the number of people you tell that you’re from California

Hopefully you and others watching this don't bring the same world views and voting habits that causes California to be a place you need or want to leave. It truly astounds me how much this happens. The place you are going to isn't better, more affordable, nicer, safer etc magically, it is better because they vote differently, make different decisions, have a different world view and do things differently, that makes it better. California is acting as a literal cancer that is metastasizing and destroying the rest of the country.

California, a democrat state, Tennessee, a REPUBLICAN STATE. If you like less crime and a state that allows guns, Tennessee is the better place. Traffic is a lot better and safer in Tennessee. People are MORE FRIENDLY in Tennessee. I lived in both, and a lot longer than Hannah and if you asked people in Tennessee if they want to move to California, no one would say yes. If you asked people in California if they want to move to Tennessee, they would say that if they could, they would in a heartbeat. Let's not get into politics nor about politicians..we ALL know where that discussion would lead to.

Glad to have you here, but I hope you left your politics in California. There is a reason California has gone downhill so fast.

I agree that California is in rough shape, but isn't Nashville more progressive? You're suggesting that anyone with different political views other than conservative shouldn't move to the state of Tennessee? I'm not trying to change the politics of the state but where do third-party voters fit in? Am I limited to just voting red then?

@@nadiia8x Tennessee is a conservative state there is no denying that ( except Memphis and Nashville). Many people in the state are worried that the influx of people from out of state are going to make Tennessee unlivable. I know many people that voted third party ( libertarians) most people in the state don't care about them because they enjoy freedom its the democrats that have a horrible reputation here. In the past I've voted for both republican and democrats but lately more for the Republicans.

Hopefully some other really cool states can turn Blue with all the Californians moving around. It would be nice to have like minded people in other states.

i think thats what we will be seeing, all red or all blue states. kind of nice, you can choose. i thank god tenneesee is red, i like hanging with hard working decent people and tennessee folks are warm and friendly to boot.

People want to stay in your store and talk to you a long time (15 mins.)? You must live in a small town.

In most any place where you live around a massive size population people will keep to themselves and not go out of their way to get to know you.

If you like living a life without a lot of rules, I'd advise you to stay away from Democratic voting.
