I just visited Bruce at his home(10/05/23) and he is one of the nicest guys I have ever met. He was so welcoming and allowed me to literally play with everything inside of his airplane home. I definitely recommend visiting Bruce and his unique home if you are in the vicinity

Like he said the choice of plane wasn’t the best. Newer planes with climate control would be fine, it gets cold af when you’re flying and planes do fine in the air. Maybe he didn’t want to spend money fixing the heat or installing a new one when it’s only him and only like half the year when it’s needed. He could’ve framed the interior and stuck insulation and drywall, you lose a little space inside tho but people live in shipping containers in cold climates by insulating it and installing heating.

He’s 74 years old and hasn’t developed any brains.... he can’t analyze the current situation, he’s watching the zombie box and a fan of Ukraine.... about 2014, he doesn’t know that with the support of Nuland, who distributed cookies on the Maidan, they overthrew the government, has America forgotten about this? just like in other countries like Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, and now in Gaza and Israel.... everywhere the Americans add fuel to the fire and pay for the appositionists.... the sponsors of terrorism are undoubtedly those who have placed more than 800 military bases around the world so that everyone is afraid to open their mouths... and this is America... No matter what rags you hang to advance your agenda, you won’t get people who know how to analyze and draw conclusions

I'm telling you if you are around a kid, and you remember your childhood it's all the same. I remember my nephew asking me how much do people that fly planes make and I told him not enough you want to be a doctor. This life is bullish... that's why we should be a socialist society. Doctor and carpenters should get the same pay. That way ppl will do what they want. Not what we think we need.

to each his own, I'm also an electrical engineer, I would not live there for free let alone pay $100,000 USD in 1999 (which is $180,000 USD in 2022 account for inflation.) The amount of work vs terrible living conditions shown in the video is just asking for torture. Imagine showering in a clipped wrapped plastic sheet... Only use phone on a sofa bed near the window... risk of freezing to death every winter... risk of falling from walking on the wings daily. There are better ways to stay creative and inventive without putting yourself in that situation. props to this guy doing it but even he knew he got ripped off by the scrap company, went from $30,000 to $100,000 for a junk rusted 727. If I wanted to live off grid, I'd just buy a proper innovative use of space modern camper and put solar panels on it.

Visited back in June. The owner was such a cool guy and he tells quite the stories including the one here about not recommending buying a salvaged plane. Too bad we couldn't check out the insides at the time because he had a mild covid at the time.

He got the plane into its current location. The hard part is over. This plane has so much potential inside and out but I think he just likes it barebones. Like he said, he’s a nerd so I highly doubt he even cares about design.

As someone somewhat-less-nerdly than Bruce, but still a do-it-yourselfer, I can understand that he does what's functional - without being so worried about the aesthetics, without being so worried about impressing people with the looks of the interior. What bugs me is the relative lack of insulation, and there are a bunch of infrastructure details I wonder about. The APU was removed, but I think I would have wanted to keep it (if the plan was to use some existing electrics at their original voltages and frequency). I didn't see what he uses for heat. That location would have to have its own water & septic systems.
