On one hand, I really hate how excessive these kinds of houses are, nobody needs that much space. But on the other, its fun to imagine how I'd decorate and use all those rooms. Art studio, plant room, a room just for my rats to live in... I'd make it look like a forest in there.

Sure, you can fill them with stuff, but everyone with huge homes generally only uses 4 or 5 rooms in everyday life, everything else just sits there collecting dust. Which is why, unless you're going to house enough people to fill every room, you shouldn't buy a huge house just to have a huge house ...not you like YOU Luthien lol, you as in anybody

I’m surprised the Try Guys haven’t done “Try Guys Try Gardening”. It could be very valuable to see them grow vegetables, fruits, and native plants/flowers. Currently our world’s pollinators and beneficial insects are on a steep decline. Bring on people with degrees and knowledge in the field and help educate their audience and thousands across the country to help save our beneficial bugs with at home gardening 🐛 🐞 🦋 🐝! Edit: hi everyone!! I love that this comment has blown up. I am on my own journey of turning my backyard into a native habitat for birds, insects, bees etc… bye bye boring, basic suburban lawn that isn’t eco friendly! 👋🏼 👋🏼 👋🏼 I know that an environmental series like this would take some time, but I believe with a proper schedule it is definitely manageable. Also, some of you mentioned that Ned, Eugene, or Keith might already garden. 🌱 🍅 While growing some veggies and having a fruit tree in your backyard is great, it is far different than creating a landscape with native plants, bushes, flowers, that also provides shelter and water for native species. It can also be done on a small scale and affordably which I know is super important :).

I think Kwesi said it best when he said "this place feels a bit unreal now". I can't even wrap my head around living in a place like that. Having that much room for "a single family" (unless your single family has like 20 people in it!) seems beyond excessive and actually makes the space seem cold and impersonal rather than cozy and inviting. But, to each their own.

As a piece of architectural art, houses like these are really interesting and fun to see. In terms of people actually living in them, they're wildly over-built, underused, and a massive waste/misuse of space. The fact that this is a "single family home" is honestly kind of insulting, as it's large enough to house several generations comfortably. I enjoyed the video and would love to see more. I like seeing average people who are unlikely to ever live in a place like that reacting to it, as opposed to real estate agents or those who are accustomed to it. But also, don't be afraid to take the "weird stuff we found" roasting further and maybe even joke about stuff that looks interesting but is functionally useless or ridiculous. Like the show kitchen that exists to look impressive vs the real kitchen where everything is actually done. In short, react to the house and its opulence, but be wary of making your video an ad for sellers.

A "single family home" is a classification, as opposed to an apartment or condo with multiple personal spaces that are rented or owned separately. Each room doesn't have a kitchen or living area. You could make it a bed and breakfast, a hotel, or something else if you wanted.

I totally agree. I can understand that they probably had to agree to be quite polite about the house in order to be allowed to film there, but between the team's surface-level interactions with the rooms and the real estate guy's general smugness, the video lacked the realness that the Try Guys' audience appreciates. I think it would be great to see one or more of these episodes featuring dwellings that are genuinely innovative, especially in terms of their eco-friendliness and sustainability. The Try Guys could have fun with the technology, the amenities, and the local environment, while also making a point about meaningful ways the rich might choose to spend their money or how regular people can experience beautiful and ethical ways of living.

The term "master" has roots in slavery, and HAR says the topic of removing it from realty terminology has been debated for years. (However) The term is not classified as discriminatory by HUD and it does not violate Fair Housing laws, according to HAR. So, the association will not ban the term, and will allow realtors to still use it in marketing, public remarks and photo descriptions." All that said, it does seem to be on the way out. @@kaldo_kaldo i'm not entirely sure what you assumed I meant from my statement. i didnt say that each unit in the community would be sold for a 100k and i specifically said low income housing for the unhoused not private contractor built. I said you could build a community of units at a 100k which is actually a very high ball number of build cost per unit in MANY existing low income housing programs that are building condo, studio, or tiny home style units specifically for social programs to get people off the streets. Maybe you are thinking of single family homes in more populated areas where a house sold for a $100k is insane. However that statement is not ridiculous by any means. There are 2 bedroom manufactured homes on the market for a fraction of that and cost very little to build. Current housing prices are not driven by cost of materials but by demand. Yes cost of materials is currently higher than average but that is not directly driving up the price of existing units but rather limiting the number of new units contractors can build, requiring higher bids that project managers are not willing to acquiesce to and would rather wait for cost of materials to decline. Furthermore covid 19 and the great resignation caused delays in building in progress developments and severely handicapped the available workforce needed to build those units. However if you are willing to look beyond single family homes at other housing options, you will find that quadplexes, duplexes, and "mobile"/manufactured styles units can often be very affordable in terms of selling cost of the unit (with land leasing fees being a separate issue entirely). Prior to the current housing crisis (largely due to the pandemic). These units where on the market for $20-40k for 2 bedrooms. Building more of these types of units is extremely affordable and could help the most vulnerable members of our community.

My comment on the Try Guys is I adore them, this trio makes me smile, the commentary is too good, and I love videos where I can just see them genuinely having fun and enjoying themselves. On the house? This man said "What I believe to be one of the greatest single family homes." I could fit at least ten families in here. Holy crap. Like I hate thinking like this and ruining the fun and joy of this because it really is an enjoyable video. But people are on the streets begging for money or food or basic kindness, and here's this probably consistently empty house with two islands in the kitchen and two toilets in the main bathroom and a freaking "show kitchen". The amount of people I pass on the street desperate to feed their kids or buy medication... and these closets are bigger than some people's whole living quarters. Eat the rich, man.
