Today I'm sharing some of my experiences living a more extreme minimalist life while I was living abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark for sixth months. Just wanted to share this as a little decluttering and minimalism motivation (for me too!). :)

I've spent the past few years breaking away from societal norms regarding purchases. They will have you constantly in want, in debt and feeling inadequate as a result. I take the gratitude approach and it keeps me content with what I already have.

Yes! I recently moved into a small rental and realized I have WAY too much stuff. I’m sorting through things I’ve had for years and never used, and noticing what really is important, what I use on a daily basis, and what is just taking up space. For anyone on the fence about getting rid of certain items, I encourage you to pack them away in a box for several months and see if you miss them, or even remember exactly what’s in there. 😅
Thanks for this Video. After University I spent 5 month in NY - with 2 small suitcases in a 1 room Apartment. This was the best time in my whole life. I did not miss anything. I totally agree with you: things do not make me happy
I'm on my journey to becoming more minimalist and your channel helps readjust my mindset when I fall back into wanting to purchase everything I think is cute.
When I was 20, I lived abroad in London for three months and never even thought that I was basically wearing a capsule wardrobe. It was probably one of my favorite times of my life and the simplest. I love my Merit minimalist stick! It has replaced all my concealers and foundation. I want to try their mascara next once my current one runs out.
You are absolutely right. I also quite often think of how my life used to be years ago and I admit that it was a lot less stressful with so much less stuf and money. But to be real I also had a lot less responsibilities.
Of course you were happy then...you were in Denmark :) AS an older adult, I remember the days of being less burdened by possessions and have begun full circling my life with the goal of a tiny home and more travel in retirement. Thanks for this video...good info well presented.

Everything is more exciting when you are younger
It such goes to show you that we don't need alot of stuff we have in our spaces. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts.❤
Love this!! Favorite channel for bringing me back to center. 🥰 It is so easy to get out of balance in our society. Thank you.
This video reminded me so much of when my husband and I lived for a year in Tanzania. We had five plastic crates that we took over and used about 80 percent of those things (we misjudged how hot it was going to be there!). I wore the same clothes quite a lot and didn't bother with make up as would have just sweated it off anyway. Our home was so cosy. We loved it. My cross stitch and catching up with friends kept me occupied. It was the best year ever and none of that western world pressure to buy stuff. We took a little stereo to use with our ipod. Had old style mobile phones with no internet. One regret was we didn't take a laptop, but American friends we made had a family member visit and they brought over a Kindle we'd ordered. It was great and had some rudimentary internet. We did have the internet at work though so weren't completely cut off from home.
Just gotta say, you look amazingly beautiful in those Copenhagen photos. Danish sun suits you. :-)
This was most sincerely product sponsorship...thank you!...It was from the heart...you just want to recommend sth that truly helps you an you enjoy! I also visited Copenhagen and it's so beautiful, unique and calm in some way.Greetings from Croatia!
Worked abroad for a period of 5 months and a period of almost 4 years.. I lived minimally as I didn't want to buy stuff which I was unable to bring home.. It were the best times ever and I didn't miss a thing! Thanks for the reminder 😊
Thank you so much for this great reminder, also for me at my earlier so happy times when I didn't have so much, wore my few good quality clothes for years or even decades, never felt a lack of something and enjoyed my life. I will right start this again from right now on. Great video and so kind and lovely and quiet. Loved it 🙏🌷💖
Love Merit’s lip products! The blush wasn’t pigmented enough for me but I am obsessed with their lip oils.
sounds fun!
Love love this episode 🌷 I need to listen to it twice a day 😊 Reality check ✔️Thank you 🙏
🌟💐 great video!
lately I've been looking to my younger self and remembering how fuss free and simple she was in many ways. she didn't iron her clothes, she didn't get so pedantic about her todo list, she was happy to own whatever furniture she could afford and was way less perfectionist. it's funny and a little sad how age sometimes erodes some of that carefreeness. important reminders 😊
Your grocery budget was impressive! Did you end up getting better at cooking during that time, or was it the same few dishes over and over?
Since you mentioned you didn't have a lot of tech while living this lifestyle, what kind of phone did you have? I've been trying to look for one specifically just for calls and texting, and was curious as to what you had or what you would recommend.
