It's all BS. They bought him a gas powered chainsaw. Where is he supposed to get the gas and 2 stroke oil and bar and chain oil from? If he could afford and have the petrol available, he'd already have a chainsaw. A used small 2 stroke chainsaw can probably be purchased for 5USD in Russia. They brought a solar panel!! Do they not realize where he is? The solar is useless 8 months out of the year. He is in the arctic circle!!!!!!! There are trees all around his house. It's going to be shaded most of the year, at least partially shaded.

Yeah... And it's a dark thought, but he's looking pretty old and frail. I doubt there will be anyone to care for him or his dogs in his final frail hours 😢 No one will notice his passing... and the dogs would be alone... I can't stand thinking about how alone he is. I hope someone will be there for him in the end. I want to stay up to date with his life, as long as this channel is willing to. So we know someone will occasionally visit...

I would like to express the very same sentiments to everyone who has shared themselves or something unique about them. I love the fact that Samuil (phonetically) is at peace with his environment and that he is aligned with the bears and coyotes. That rabbit he got (it was a huge Hare) was a very big score for Samuil. I just wish I could have tasted it with his special bread.

Samuil reminds me of my grandpa, who lived as a shepherd in the Carpathian Mountains for 10 months of the year, alone with the sheep and woodland creatures and then, two months in the village during winter. My grandma would go there almost daily, 7 km from their village to bring food and necessities. He also had a radio and some magazines? I remember vividly my summer days spent there with him. He was the happiest living in his log little cabin in the mountains and couldn’t wait for the hard winter to be over so he could go again. He sadly died 5 years ago. May Samuil live a long, healthy live!

  • @starlucanyaart

It's almost my way of life, because i'm alone since 11 years but i love it, because i could do anything i want. I'm a writer, a drawer, i could spend my time drawing, writing, and being in a peaceful ambiance (or sometimes jazz ambiance) with some coffee, without watching tv, and i have the feeling to have everything. I just miss a peaceful location like him, near nature, where i could go in the forest when i want. It's also my philosophy of life, so i completely understood that he feel complete this way. I think modern society completely miss the point of solitude : we could be alone without feeling alone, because the key is to be connected to yourself, instead to be connected to the society. As society is drawn by material things, noise, violence, superficiality, ego, money, apparence, competititivity.... That finally you gain much more by being by yourself, because you connect to what you really want or are. Society create a illusion about our needs and constantly create superficial needs and distractions for commercial reason. It's like youtube : many people follow some mediocrity channels and BELIEVE deeply they need it to exist, and became dependant of it, while it hold no intrinsical values. The only things we really need is the connection to ourself and with nature. It's so peaceful for the mind, and we don't free ourself by money or being able to buy, or have a free sexuality. We free ourself when we exactly don't need that to be happy. Sometimes, when you have nothing, you have and you are everything.

Samuil sure seems to be doing better after all the food donations and the window got installed; he probably has some more nutrients in his diet and doesnt need to worry about chopping so much wood for heating now.

he lives alone in an unforgiving condition but he is very productive, well put, his house is very organised and clean, he’s got various skills and hobbies, very articulate and hospitable with great social skills despite being isolated from the world ❤ we may feel pity looking at his situation but in reality he may be happier n lives a more fulfilling life than a lot of us living with all of our privileges 🫶 much love to him i hope when u guys come to visit him again in the future it would be great if we could hear more of his stories from his younger days and i think giving him a lots of interesting books would be great for him too since he can even read during night time now 🥰

(especially as a Singaporean where temperatures range from 26-34C year round). Samuil is such a lovely person and his friendship song is so beautiful!! He is so strong to be able to live and thrive living alone in the forest. Thank you guys for bringing him supplies and improving his quality of life 🥹🥹🥹

🙏🙏😊😊 --------- Greetings from Scotland! How heart warming it was to see Samuil enjoying some more home comforts! This amazing guy must have felt like all his Christmas's came at the same time! That solar panel will change his life for sure! But I see he needs a new stove, that one is getting very thin on the top......... Maybe next trip? 🙏🙏😊😊

I stumble across this video looking for people who live off the grid in remote part of the world. I never knew such an extremely cold place existed. Here I am complaining about the weather. This video has not just change my very selfish way of thinking but made me think about a man I’ve never met. I feel somehow connected to him like he’s my grandfather. Thank you for sharing the life of such an amazing human being on earth. While we’re thousands of miles away he will be forever in my heart. Wish they’re more videos of him. I’ve already shared the videos to my friends about this great human being. What a blessing to meet him over the internet. Thanks for sharing this gift to us.

Thanks for the update on Samuil! It's heartwarming to see him doing so well ❤ The experience Samuil had last September when an old man with a long beard came through his locked door and sat by his stove to get some warmth makes me speculate that an entity of the forest visited him. Given his dogs did not bark at the old man, perhaps it was a friendly being. After all, Samuil had lived in this forest for years and it seemed the forest protects him. I think the forest being just wanted to get some warmth 🤭 Aside from that, I'm glad he can get decent sleep now and electricity. He will have more strength to visit the village and back.
