Fr. Anthony, I continue to appreciate your responses when answering questions about other Christian traditions. I also find the greatest caution when someone is bashing a tradition not his. I continue to find that the best approach is to speak of what is beautiful in your tradition, and do not focus on what you find as disagreeable (or even heretical) in another's. Trinitarian, baptized Christians would do well to leave such issues to God, as you say.

I highly recommend the book by Dr. G. Bassaly: Dialogue with St Athanasius "On the Incarnation", as it clarifies the original Greek text which can be a bit confusing when translated into English. All of Dr. Bassaly's books should be part of Sunday School and Bible study curricula in all of our churches.

Nice to hear you say at the 8 minute mark, that its alright to listen to EO KZread channels. I myself am EO and I'm here listening to you as well. There are simple truths that we can all learn. Its a shame that the ancient churches have been divided from one another. God bless you and your channel

As a protestant observing orthodoxy, I agree completely. It saddens me that the various apostolic churches are still so divided.

Respectfully though, there is only 1 Ancient Church. There are many profitable things that ancient denominations like the Nestorians/Chalcedonians/Papists teach that we can benefit from, but only the Orthodox (Oriental) Church of Christ is rightly said to be a "Church." The oneness of the Church is proven by the 1 communion of bishops, but we've been out of communion for 1,500 years because the Chalcedonians departed from the teachings of the Third Ecumenical Council, and from the Holy Mysteries of the Church.

Selam Abuna may the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. In regards our holy mother Virgin Mary, she was sinless before birth and after birth. Eritreans and Ethiopians Orthodox Church we call her Virgin in body and Virgin in conscious, that is why she has three stars on her icon, one on her head, one on her left shoulder and another on the right shoulder. These represent her pureness in wisdom, flesh, and consciousness. If we say she was capable of sin, we are saying Jesus was capable of sin because he took the flesh from her. With absolute humility I would suggest that you do more research about Mother Mary.

This is completely false reasoning. It does not follow that St Mary being capable of sinning would make Christ capable of sinning. According to Tewahedo doctrine, the Word took on a corruptible humanity and made it incorruptible with Himself, so that after the union it is no longer corruptible. The change from corruptibility to incorruptibility shows that 1) St Mary was corruptible and 2) that St Mary being capable of x does not likewise make Christ Himself capable of x.

@@dioscoros may the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. How then the Angel Gebriel called her full of grace? Luk 1: 28? And Tewahdo’s doctrine is very clear about Mother Mary, Virgin in body and in conscious.

@@awetgirmay1312 we believe that she never committed actual sins, and always cooperated with the grace of God, the grace always increasing. Furthermore, she was made with child by a miracle, that child being Christ Himself. All of this plenty justifies her being full of grace without the need for the idea of the immaculate conception.
