Hey man, i imagine you with that new Simplex on Jewellery Hill! That's going back awhiles now. Seems like a nice machine. Obviously sharper at 15 kHz. Nice video man.

Not much difference in the Simplex models. The new tone break adjustments are nice. There is no difference in 12khz vs 15khz. They just want us to buy more accessory coils.

So far my biggest complaint with the ultra is the pinpoint function on the machine. It's reluctant to come on when you press the button and half the time when it comes on there's no sound just the circles on the screen. Definitely needs to be refined.

I agree, it is pretty finicky. I usually don’t use the pinpoint function anyway, though, I find it more accurate to just locate it by swinging in normal mode and finding the middle point/strongest target ID. Then turn 90 degrees and repeat. This will get you directly on target within an inch or two. The pinpoint function on my Xterra is less finicky but it’s not that accurate either and you’re better off just zeroing in in normal detection mode

Loving my Simplex Ultra and my Minelab Xterra Pro. They both are great detectors. I was a bit surprised though on how Target ID works. I have been detecting for almost 10 years with a cheap Bounty Hunter and have had a lot of fun. I finally upgraded and got these two detectors. I wasnt prepared for the massive fluctuations of the target ID. I thought I would be able to guess with confidence in whether I’m pulling up silver, a coin, iron, or aluminum, but that is just not the case. Dimes usually hit strong around 78 or so but you never know it could still be trash. I read a 98 on my Ultra at the park yesterday and it was a very strong signal about 6 inches deep. Ended up being an piece of a steel sign post. Pop tabs read anywhere from 15 up to over 60, some of the older aluminum tabs read well over 70. It just makes me think maybe I should’ve just kept my trusty old Bounty Hunter lol… because I find myself digging almost every target anyway. I’m sure over time I’ll learn the chirps a little better… trash usually has a pretty inconsistent reading and you can really hear it in 99 Tone and all metal mode, but it’s still kind of hit and miss. It might be an old quarter that’s standing up on end and it’s reading in the low teens and you might think it’s trash..

Hi, I appreciate your videos. I recently bought the simplex ultra (my first metal) and on my first trip to the beach (I'm Italian) I found a gold earring (it seems I'm lucky). Have you ever tried bluetooth bone conduction headphones with Simplex or Legend? I would like to try it but I can't find APTX low latency bone conduction headphones. Could bluetooth 5.x headphones work?

O que leva você fazer coleção de detectores? Ou vc faz isso pra analizar os pontos positivos e negativos dos aparelhos? Se for em busca do melhor, acredito que não irá encontrar.

I think the simplex only missed that quarter because you didn't get as close to the side Kurt was standing on, that's where the quarter was, kind of on the edge of the hole.

Why didn't Jim buy the new Legend instead? All he had to do was put the legend in 15khz and run it.

I’m a total beginner & have had no experience of detecting whatsoever. I’m still confused what machine to buy after watching loads of videos & visiting many forums? Thing is the simplex ultra looks appealing for my first machine but I certainly don’t want to make the mistake of getting the simplex & wishing a bit further down the line I’d got the legend. Please help, any advice would be very much appreciated 👍 Thanks for the video❤️

I got the simplex plus, within 2 months I wanted to upgrade to the legend, kinda wish I bought the legend first, it would have been a tad overwhelming learning it, but I think I could have figured it out, and I would have saved the $400 cad the simplex cost, the only good thing is I have a spare machine that I can lend to someone who wants to go out with me, I also bought a spare pinpointer and digger and finds bag, so I have everything to outfit a person

Are you still planning to release some sheaths? I see grave digger tools have a sheath, but its sized to fit thier digger, I dont really like how thier diggers look, I'll have to measure out my garett digger and compare to grave diggers sheath My digger right now is crowding out my finds bag
