(thought it would work as normal due to it being water proof within certain parts of the detector), on dry land and sand worked well. My first one, so still have lots to learn

And save the money that you are finding and then after a couple of years then you can Afford the X-Terra Pro and that's how I bought the Original Simplex + and I was using a Teknetics Detectors and now I have the X-Terra Pro and it's a totally different Detector than anything else that I have ever owned and it's the first one of the Minelabs Detector's that I was proud of what it's capable of telling me about the target and I Coin Shoot and I love the knowledge that it knows and the Minelab engineering team for the X-Terra Pro.....

Simplex is a no go on the wet sand. Xterra pro handled it like a champ. Good depth on the gold too. 👍

Imo i don't believe any company is going to kill another unless there is some New technology that's being used or the company decides there is no need for R&D or an improvement(Garrett). So far all Metal detectors operate the same way some better then others obviously. I love the Legend and am completely happy with it, but to be honest i was never impressed with the simplex+ not one time i tried to like it but i guess it's to be expected when i was already using the nox 800 and a AT pro before that. I still have it but it's been collecting dust for the past 2 1/2 years. In a nutshell the competition between companies is how we get better machine's. Look how fast and powerful the smart phone came from 10 years ago. 1st generation smartphones had more computing power and 100's of times faster then the computer's nasa used to put a man on the moon. I also like that the newer machine's are upgradable.

@@TecheRidgeDigger Good for you to have a Deus II!!! Not everyone has over $1,000 to spend on a detector, however. Let's not miss the point, that in terms of beginner detectors (and value), the X-Terra pro is hard to beat, in its price point. The Deus II is a great detector, but is over 4X the cost of the X-Terra Pro. You are comparing apples and oranges. SMH

I've made the same experience with the Simplex at the Baltic Sea. Does not work in the salty water. I'm hunting on land mostly, but for occasional beach hunting the X-Terra Pro will be the better choice.

I heard somebody uses Allmetal mode for saltwater. Maybe that should do the trick. On the other hand I've found some videos on YT showing the Simplex works quite well in salty water. I saw X-Terra Pro mentioned in lots of places. Today, as I was planning to buy a Simplex BT, I looked up that name and thank goodness for that. Hands down a better machine, and I was even able to get it at a better price.

Xterra handles emi great and fantastic depth that's ALL I want .take my money minelab

This is a crazy time it seems to me in the Detector world! I was set on the my 1st upgrade being the simplex then OMG X-Terra comes out WTH and then Simplex is coming out as 3 new models and the Ultra being effective on the beach in saltwater ! Great video, ive tried every setting and mode on the simplex on the beach, the only thing that helped a little bit was the sp 24 coil. Its ok in the dry sand but as soon as hits the wet or near the water its game over. Ive tested at several beaches too.

I did the ground balance to zero too and that never really helped. In my opinion the simplex was a great little detector for the price, but did not perform well at all in wet sand saltwater beaches it was pretty much unusable.

Was gonna get a vanquish 540 just for the beach, now I may get th X pro. I only go to the beach like twice a year. Seems like I get more for money with the xterra. I have a Simplex for my everyday detecting and a Gold kruzer for my prospecting. Need a good wet salt water detector and I'll have my bases covered. GPAA gold show will be here in the next month. That's where I'll pick up my next detector. Hopefully I can come to a conclusion by then.

Should call it the Xaqua ! seems very stable on the wet salt sand. I like your new hand held camera mount, thought you had a drone for a minute.

I got a feeling "8khz" is SMF lmao. I mean the options in the other modes are 5, 10 and 15 so why not go with 5 on the beach? No its "8" and ya cant change it🤔 SMF so it works in salt water and cant be changed. Disguised as "8khz". Thats my theory and Im sticking with it. And if so, BRILLIANT!!

It reminds me a bit like the Sovereign series which were excellent and had great success with but this one has upgraded and micro sized electronics

When you were ground balancing the simplex, it seemed as though it wasn’t able to do a successful ground balance…every time you pumped the coil to the wet sand, the machine sounded off (isn’t the audio supposed to eventually normalize between the air and ground for a proper ground balance?). The XT Pro performed very well at that beach for a single freq machine!! 👍🏼👍🏼

Yup the NM machine beep when they ground balance, it was beeping here and there but on land it usually only takes one or two pumps to GB a simplex. It just could't handle the salt. Maybe the new ones will bet better since they learned a bit with beach mode on the Legend? Who knows.

​@@kudubudu5551X-Terra Pro and it's a rechargeable battery and the Vanquish you will have to be busy with buying the Batteries and the X-Terra Pro is waterproof and the Vanquish isn't and the X-Terra Pro is cheaper than the Vanquish 440 , but the Vanquish comes out with headphones and the X-Terra Pro doesn't but they are available to buy but to me I have the X-Terra Pro and I love it even though I don't have the headphones yet....

Next time you get the simplex plus on the beach try putting it in beach mode then set the ground balance to 0 then put it in park 2 mode and see how it works.

A lot of people reporting cam locks not working on the new ML machines so be wary..........that arm cuff looks pretty flimsy too. ML is king of the salt sand but not king of the water or build quality sadly. :/

It must be different on American beaches as my simplex runs silent on every beach i detect on even in the surf in the uk. Having said that the tones are much nicer on the xterra and the vdi more stable not to mention the depth especially at 5kh. I'm very tempted 👍

I had to go back and refresh my memory on the Manufacturer’s Suggested List Price of the first device tested. It’s currently $10 higher than the XTPro but from the current demonstrations by Calabash and Others in the MD Community it sure is obvious that the XTPro is superior and not by a little but by a lot and it appears to be superior to many sub $600 devices currently being marketed in the US and abroad. Stellar results at a bargain price.

@@Aswaguespack Not in build quality........and some of it's features like the flashlight are directly stolen from the Simplex. There is a new line of simplexes coming out soon we'll see if they learned anything about beach hunting on the Legend and applied that software to the new simplexes.

To be fair a simplex owner would put it in field mode in this situation. I don't know if that would have helped but strongly believe it would. My simplex was noisy and I didn't like it at first till I played with it a bit and now I keep it pretty quiet wherever I hunt. I haven't hunted a beach so I don't know. But not trying field which is simplex best depth and it does make a difference, doesn't use all of its tools. But it still may not have done well vs the x terra pro I don't know if it would or wouldn't. Good video.

When using the Simplex on wet sand , GB shouldn’t exceed 10. Otherwise it’s not going to stabilize. Try park 1 with GB at ( manual setting ) 0-3. It’s not perfect but quite a bit more stable.

@@calabashdiggeradventures …. I failed to take into consideration that different beaches will have different minerals. I’m hunting along the south Texas coast. Geography is a major factor in mineralization content. I’m not doubting your point about ground balance, I was merely making a suggestion based on my use of the machine in my region, not going down the proverbial rabbit hole as you put it. The machine has preset modes that you can’t fine turn as in higher end machines, but by setting ground balance in beach mode and then shifting to another mode that might be more suitable for the soil conditions you might achieve better results. I can assure you that my comment was not meant to insult your experience. Have a nice day Sir.

Just an update, I went with the NM Legend instead of the XTerra for two reasons, one reason I was leaning towards the XTerra’s MULTI FREQUENCIES for the price point of which I wanted. The other negative was because MineLab is owned by an investment company who’s stocks are extremely low. NM is NM and I got the Multi Frequency machine for very little more money than the cost of the XTrerra.

Interesting I run a £169 quest x5 which runs at 7.99 kHz all metal with the sensitivity dropped to 74 with a bit of beach noise but will pickup a 1p size coin at 6 inches and that runs a lot quieter than the new simplex on the wet sand but I would like to see the x-terra pro vs the Garrett apex on the wet sand

Me too but I dont have 500 bucks to drop on the Apex ...

It's obvious a much better. Detector. But I don't think it will beat my Garrett gold in fresh water .on gold targets. I'd like to see a comparison. Yes it's cheaper. And lighter obvious a better buy than simplex or Garrett's

I've got a vanquish 540 coming at the end of this week. I'll let you know how it does on little river and north myrtle beaches

Will Minelab give us veterans a discount on the Xterra Pro as they do on other machines?

The answer is no to the Military discount. I think Minelab brought this out just to compete with the Simplex and since it’s so cheap they are not offering the Military discount.

@@myersmetaldetector Are you speaking for Minelab or as a Minelab dealer? A better question is, will Minelab honor a military discount? My guess is yes, but at the dealer’s cost. Wholesale vs MSRP and Minelab’s left dealer no wiggle room for profit, if not an outright loss. A cheaper $199 Vanquish 340 qualifies for the discount.

nokta are not the only manufacturers guilty of saying their machines work on salt water beach when they clearly don,t . The only detector iv owned that works perfect on beach is a minelab.

West coast black sand beaches?

It still needs a headphones but I'm on the list . Who would not want to buy this extera . ?

I know the ML 85 headphones are compatible with the XTerra Pro. I saw somewhere there was also another pair of Minelabs that were compatible, but I forget what they were.

But what I have been doing is the Money 💲🤑 that I have been finding is going to the Headphones fund and then it's not going to cost me anything else to get the Headphones 🎧 and that's how I buy anything for Detecting....

So, if you feel 10 inches is fair for the xterra pro, remind us what the more expensive detectors should do. What extra depth do you get for another thousand dollars?

But the X-Terra Pro actually acting like it's a Top End Detector for the Budget Price Range that once you have it in your hands and swing it then you will know that you have the Best Technology Single Frequencies Detector that The Notka Macro Product's Fan Boy's are gearing up to try and Slaughter the X-Terra Pro and I have heard from a few already that the Simplex Ultra Build Quality is better than the X-Terra Pro but then I have asked about the Simplex Ultra All Metal Mode and it's a Single Tone Threshold style of Tone And the X-Terra Pro it's a bit more powerful with the ability to be able to do a 2-5- All Tone's And Depth Tone All with the X-Terra Pro and so far that is better than the Simplex Ultra and it's Single Tone Threshold Tone which you still have to go ahead and Dig it up just to carry around more Iron Junk Quarter Tone Targets that the Simplex Ultra said that it's a good target 😂😂😂😂 and I have the X-Terra Pro and I love ❤️❤️❤️❤️ IT

Legend has a depth advantage by about 1 1/12 to 2 inches on the Beach over the Xterra..

Man that's gonna be hard for anyone to beat... I'd be curious to see if minelab releases a version with the multi iq in that price point. I've gotva vanquish coming for my wife but I really wish the control box was water proof. But I truly think minelab is setting the standard other manufacturers can say what they want about their business practices but until they step up there game and compete or out develop them minelab will continue to win and dominate the market.

@@calabashdiggeradventures gotcha, I haven't had an opportunity to use deus 1 or 2 but I have heard fantastic things about it. The question is if it's really worth $1600. The exaclibur 2 was worth cause you could dive with it up to 200 ft and it was revolutionary for its time now not as much. Deus 2 and manticore are the same price in the market but not sure if the price is worth it.

Simplex is no good on wet sand unless you manually set the ground balance to zero will run quiet then one bar down on sensitivity

ran it at 0 off video too...Iffy told me some guys were using that trick....Did not hit the targets..Are you guys really going to start chasing the rabbit down the hole??.....Machine was balanced at 2 and if you see as you see in the video I checked the values on different parts of the Beach....PER SIMPLEX MANUAL REPLY

Is it normal that VDI on X-Terra is so jumpy? You will have to dig every signal since you have no idea what is under the coil. Simplex performes even worse... In my opinion, both machines are not good for the beach.

My old AT Pro does better on the beach than the Simplex

That's because the AT pro series are pretty dumbed down and insensitive to keep them running stable. A def man isn't bothered by loud noise either. That doesn't give him superior hearing. :) Trust me I ran an AT pro for years.........decent machines(if you run pro zero no disc) in urban areas because they do run pretty silent but you're missing deep targets while using one unless you grab some larger aftermarket coils. Awesome machines on modern iron coins if you're Canadian though. :)

I wonder will Minelab be happy if Nissan sue them for using the name...😅

Greetings from Asia Minor, ironically: Simplex is literally a Barbarian detector. Sounds, display, design, VDI jumps . . . X Terra Pro is a gentleman, fearless and attentive gentleman... That damn simplex doesn't even do business in this geography. Sorry friends, please excuse me and make your choice carefully.

Never have been a fan of the Simplex, worst detector I own, great features terrible performance.

O x-terra pro deveria ser chamado de simples.😅

Good old simplex, chattering like a 90s ravers teeth on puckers, yet still some are convinced that machine is as good as multi-IQ on the wet sand... Great comparison even if the audio failed which is probably a good thing for the simplex.
