That quarter with the piece of pull tab making a bottle cap sound is why it's always good to dig those questionable signals. That was a great example, thanks.

You got that right! The iffys will be the good targets. Coins are very evident.

Once upon a time there were no pinpointers. Then we detected happily ever after.

Them were the days. I won't go detecting with less than 2 pinpointers now.

My brass probe is my most used tool when the pinpointer can see it. Thanks

The probe struggles popping those twist tops, it wants to bend when prying the tops out of our dense clay.

There's so much cam slaw in my parks it's almost impossible to dig for rings. I blame the lazy mowers.

Honestly, just clean out a small section each visit until you can't take it anymore then go back to your normal therapy mode. Eventually you'll clean enough out that you will find the gold. That being said.......hunt where the gold is more likely to be lost. Around playground equipment, around benches, under shady trees and in open areas people can throw balls. If after a while you notice a lack of jewelry of any kind.......or a lack of coins you may not be in a good spot. It's weird....some places produce some don't for whatever reason.

Just gotta work the canslaw area for a few minutes each week. Eventually it will be clear of the slaw. I would rather pop a few pieces of canslaw on the surface than a few pieces at 4" deep. I dig canslaw because GOLD RINGS sound just like it. If I don't dig the canslaw...somebody else will dig the canslaw.

I just looked it up, I think the whites has the shark teeth on both sides, while the ckg has a saw on the left and the shark teeth on the right So I'm still glad I ordered the excaliber

@@digginggopher It's the handle configuration that matters more. Any blade goes through the grass and soil just fine in most cases. Most diggers have horrible handles.

The CKG does not have sharks teeth on both sides. I do think that the CKG is still a very good buy at 30 bucks.

The probe is a complete joke compared to a hand digger. The hand digger is so much faster and much more precise. The probe will work on coins laying flat about 1-2" deep. The probe does not work well on pultabs or jewelry or in rocky soil or on deeper targets or around roots or in hard clay or......

What do you recommend for beach a 12" or 8" coil out of water?which is the reason? Good vids👍

12 inch coil might be better if the beach isn't very trashy, it's the only place I use my 11 inch coil, everywhere else I use my 9x5

Big coils for the beach because you want depth and coverage.

The probe is so you do less damage to the grass. Usually people like to use them when a lot of people are around to watch, especially parks staff. Plus if you're only hunting shallow targets the probe takes a lot less energy.

Some cities require you to only use a probe, you cannot dig in the parks etc.

Hand diggers do not damage the grass!! Grass grows very very good in my area when it is in the wet season. If our parks had probe only detecting...I would start a knitting channel.
