Hey Sonny it is true, the Lao diaspora community has learned to bring their culture along with them. As a Lao American, it is ironic that I would like to visit the country my grandparents had fled. Like Yia said, hearing about the homeland from older generations had always sparked a curiosity in me as well. It's refreshing to see Lao culture being put in the limelight.

Really enjoyed the last few episodes of Northern Laos. I cross the boarder from Vietnam into Laos many years ago and through the travels we saw the untouched villages, their kids hanging around and their stilt homes. They are such warm and friendly people. I love how they still live, living off the land. Simple and hassle free. They eat what they have & don’t ask for much. That’s why you see they don’t have modern illness like depression or diabetes etc. They are happy with their life. Their kids are always outdoors playing and contributing to the family chores. Wanna see more of their foods. I’ll try everything except bat and bile. 😍😍😍😍.

These ants are called Chapda in Bastar Chhattisgarh India they have many medicinal properties. The tribals here would let these ants bite them in order to be healthy. Here we make a paste(chutney) of it using garlic, green chillies, tomatoes and salt. It tastes heavenly ❤

You and Mark Wiens are my favorites. You both deliver reality. Thank you for that. I am a senior and cannot give to your channel as I would like to but thank you so much for your contribution to “reality TV” that is reality. So refreshing to see other cultures! ❤❤❤❤
