LIVE and DIE in CHINA

I decided to bury Weifang in China and because I would never leave her alone this is where I get buried also. This is a walk through our final resting place at the cemetery in Nanning, China. I will live here until the day I die and then they have a special place for me. Right beside Weifang.

Hello Gweilo 60, my wife and I are leaving Maple Ridge BC in 11 days for Nanning city. I can not wait to leave Canada, I am 71 and Canada sucks. I flew to Nanning to get married july 2007, one of the best things I have ever done. I need to buy another electric bike, I have no problems driving around this beautiful city of green. I too will die in China, as Nanning is my home Your videos are very touching. It would be nice to meet you in Nanning sometime. I wish you the best for years to come. John

I don't think you are crazy. I married my wife in Nanning 20 years ago, we have lived in both Canada and China (more in China mind you) and we decided to spend the rest of our lives back in China. To the end. We came back just last year. Some of my friends and family assumed the China life was temporary and we would stay in Canada permanently, and are surprised I didn't "put my foot down" and just demand it. But they don't get it. My missus could say she wanted to live on an island, a remote jungle, the middle of a desert or the moon. I would go with her and be there with her to the end. Much respect!

...you're not crazy at all. When I married my wife and we finally moved to her hometown here Shenyang, I told her very clearly, when I die you bury me here in Shenyang with your family and next to you. This is our home. God bless you as you deal with losing your loved one and share your experience. Mario

@@sams-lo6lc The easiest way would probably be becoming an English teacher (if that's your thing). Many schools in China want Native English speakers, so just by being born in an English country, you have a decent chance of going. You don't even have to know Chinese to get hired, but it would definitely help. Another is applying online for various jobs. There's a lot of Chinese hiring sites. I'm only familiar with the tech ones, but I'm sure other industries have similar things. Once you have a job in China, getting permanent residence is easy. Ofc, getting that job is not easy. Another way is to first apply for a multi-entry visa. It's lets you stay in China for up to 180 days, which the duration can be renewed. In that time, you can familiarize yourself with the language and get a job. Ofc, this option is quite expensive because you are basically a tourist and unemployed for 180 days, unless you work online or something.

Kirk, your honesty and undiluted attitude on life and death for that matter is certainly a breath of fresh air. I lost my Pauline in 2017, the mother of my four beautiful children after twenty four years of being together, nearly half my life. Family popped out of the woodwork then too, and that's in Ireland! So as you say it's not a country specific thing, it's a people thing. I totally agree with you on the loneliness of one day waking and seeing the person you chose to spend the rest of your life with, suddenly they're not there.... but they are......they're in the menial things you see everyday, familiar smells or that special cocktail she liked (in my wife's instance). I look at my kids and I see her face. You owe nothing to anybody, be it explanation, monetary or even time. I've found someone now who I know my kids accept. They're old enough to realise the love I have and always will have for their mother will never die. Southeast Asia is a beautiful place, I'm heading out there again in March. No matter where you go Kirk, the world is only a confine of physical movement. Your wife is always with you.

Hi Gweilo/Kirk 😃! I'm so happy u bounced back to make videos again! As an overseas Chinese here in d Phils. we still practise traditions for funeral...it is said that our elders should be placed on high ground like a hill or any place that's high n facing d sea coz this is among d beautiful feng shuis for d dead , in fact for d good of d next generation. Even d time of passing is of relevance for d living family. One doesn't look back n get back inside after leaving d funeral parlor....etc. So far these are only d tip of an iceberg. I cnt mention many things here. It might get u dizzy 😅😄 but i'd say just follow ur intuition/instinct dat prod u dat moment or d first thought that comes to mind , finally , i wish u goodwill , well-being , health , safety n prosperity throughout d years ahead. All subscribers love u , dats for certain.😊😉👍👍👍

I did nothing and they disappeared into thin air after a year, like smoke.

You are so affectionate. Until the day comes when you and Weifang are reunited, be happy and don't forget to laugh and love. I'm sure that's what Weifang wishes for. Good luck.

I am working in USA California. I understand your health issue struggling. What you said in Canada is right. In USA, many senior and retiring citizens are facing loneliness, subtle depression, hardly any visitors, lock in their own homes at old age, long distance driving which is difficult to have visitors.

Hi Gweilo 60, you are not crazy of thinking your own well-being. I believe that you can choose any places you like as long as you feel comfortable to be where you are. The most important is to have quality of life.
