ABOUT ALEXANDER LITVINOVSKY
Alexander Litvinovsky was born in Minsk in 1962. He graduated from the State Music College (1982) as a musicologist, from the Belarusian State Academy of Music in the class of composition under Prof. Dmitry Smolsky (1987) and received a post-graduate degree there (1991). He took part in workshops under the guidance of Jonathan Harvey and Michael Nyman (Great Britain), Louis Andriessen (Holland), Martin Bresnick (USA), Sylvano Bussotti (Italy), Tristan Murail and Fransois-Bernard Mache (France). As a composer he writes in various genres: from chamber, choral and symphonic music to electro-acoustic art. The creative concept: from tradition to avant-garde. Alexander's music has been presented at various festivals and concerts around Europe and USA.
“Tales of The Magic Tree” (composed in 2001) consists of 12 pieces for string orchestra in the romantic vein of Schuman, Schubert and Mendelssohn. At the basis of this work is the idea of the infinity of movement. All images are inspired by the wonderful atmosphere of the ancient park in Niesviz, Belarus.
ABOUT THE ORCHESTRA
Captivating, soul-stirring performances of classical and contemporary music. The Metamorphose String Orchestra of Minsk, founded in 2015 by conductor Pavel Lyubomudrov, has been taking the Belarusian music scene by storm with a series of critically acclaimed concerts - and now has its eye on Europe.
Exquisitely blending creativity, tradition and musicianship, the Orchestra’s performances exude a deep love and understanding of music. With a constantly-changing repertoire that spans from Baroque to original arrangements of popular music and contemporary Belarusian composers, the Orchestra proves true to its name: experimentation is in its DNA.
Conductor Pavel Lyubomudrov, a graduate of the St. Petersburg State Conservatory and a pupil of Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation Alexander Vasilyevich Alekseev, has filled the Orchestra’s ranks with some of the country’s finest musicians. Alumni of the St. Petersburg, Moscow and Minsk Conservatoires have joined him on his artistic journey, sharing stages with renowned soloists such as cellists Mikael Samsonov (Germany) and Antonio Mostacci (Italy), violinists Lisa Jacobs (Netherlands) and Andrey Baranov (Switzerland), oboist Juan Manuel García-Cano (Spain), flutist Maria Fedotova and pianist Stanislav Soloviev (Russia), among others.

How have I never heard of him? He is as good as some of the old classical composers. I couldn't even find a Wikipedia page on him. There must be something very wrong with this world if an artist like him is not getting acknowledged.

People like him don't get acknowledged, but people who can't sing well without autotune (and in my opinion can't sing well with it either) are celebrities. This world is backwards.

Indeed. All modern classical composers seem to either compose film scores or horrible discordant unmelodic ultra-modernist rubbish. But this chap seems to be the genuine thing.

I highly suggest Jay Vincent for a modern composer. He wrote pieces for Ninjago and some of them are amazing

@@HALIDONMUSIC, yesterday I bought all 3 albums from your website (Pelléas et Mélisandre, Le Grand Cahier and 12 tales from the magic tree. 😉 By the way, in "12 tales" songs 2 and 3 are missing . I already emailed your customer service. I've been talking a little bit with Mr. Litvinovsky and it seems you own the rights of his music. Could you please let me know when any of his compositions is performed anywhere in Europe? I'm Spanish, but I'll fly anywhere to listen to a live performance of his work. I guess if anybody wants to perform them they should contact you first, that's why I'm asking you.

Instead of searching for Litvinovsky, try Аляксандр Літвіноўскі or Aljaksandr Litwinouski - there is information online!

My my, what a beautiful collection of orchestra pieces, I've just discovered Litvinovsky's work and it is absolutely beautiful and completely suited to my taste! I'm a beginner to classical music but I just think that his composing style is really magical and stands out from the rest!
I am going to warm up with this composer every time I listen to a new piece of him. I liked most the first tale ''With the Stream''.

Wow! So amazing. I am completely blown away. I stumbled onto one of his pieces sandwiched between Mozart and Beethoven in a compilation and it immediately jumped out as something very special. Ive never heard of this incredible composer. Ive been frantically searching out everything I can find by him and everything I find is striking and incredibly beautiful.

I found one piece from this in one of your other playlists and loved it so much I had to find the rest. I'm not disappointed! This is amazingly intricate and beautifully crafted. I'd never even heard of Litvinovsky, much less these pieces. Thanks for enlightening me to the beauty of the Tales of the Magic Tree!

"Bronze Statue" is overwhelmingly beautiful. It's a real masterpiece (by my relatively untrained ear's estimation). Perfect photo for it too (but I'm an "autumnophile," or lover of fall, if that's a work I can use/make-up).
