Back in the day in england you had so many crosses even patterdale terriers where crossed with heavier bulldog types and in england the best of these crosses got big followers I. E in Staffordshire they went more for short muzzle but with hinks dog they favored the more terrier long faced dog that done well in the rat pits but not so good as the Staffordshire in dog pits,,I've had both dogs even had a cross of both and that was the best dog I had loved killing vermin
