The thing with these songs is that most of them are designed to essentially be loops, because they play during fights, so they need to keep repeating seamlessly until the player wins (or dies). So it's hard to think of them in terms of proper endings - they don't really have them. There's fan arrangements of them that do (I especially love Richard EB's take on the whole OST), but not the originals.

I don't know, His Theme just feels *_REALLY_* overused. (Edit) Just realized this was his SECOND video regarding UNDERTALE. Toby's music & games have been doing that for a lot of people. He's pulled a lot of us out of dark places, myself included. The music, the stories, the characters (and of course, Temmie's visual contributions as well, & now the team helping him with Deltarune). He has such empathy, you can tell, & it's like he's reaching out to us through his works, with sincerity & support. Inspiring us to find hope & joy in life again. Inspiring our creativity so we can share such feelings with others too. He was so right when he said we needed Deltarune Chapter 2 early... & it literally did save SO many people that I've met in the fandom, inspired many to discover who they really are, & led to many of them finding new interests & talents, & beginning careers they never expected to love as much as they now do. Each of his releases rekindle the flames in our hearts when they dwindle. (Heh, rhyme) I'm glad you're still with us. And so many others. These are hard times we're living through... but we're also being given historically amazing creations to help get us through it. As always... Stay Determined!

It's already insane that he did all the music himself with, probably, little input, but to be the Main Man with heavy fingers in Every pie, it's insane. I'm just saying the percent between how much Toby's done in Undertale And Deltarune vs the rest of the team? A generous split would be 50%Toby/50%Everyone else, but even then that's too much on the 'everyone else' end No wonder why chapter three is only gonna be out in 200 years

@@queenaunt4531 You're absolutely right about Undertale, as well as Chapter 1 of Deltarune. Practically all Toby, but Temmie did lots of the sprite work (& much of what he did was editing hers), plus a few others with backgrounds & character designs, etc. But Deltarune Chapter 2 had a more directly involved team of programmers (& IIRC, artists/animators as well), & Chapter 3 onward has an even bigger team. So I don't think it'll take THAT long. Laying the groundwork (creating base assets, programming packages, etc) was what even made Ch 2 take as "long" as it did (which was WELL worth the wait). Heck, about half of that was Toby trying a totally different programming approach, only to go back to the original. THEN from there, after recruiting a team, he had to take time learning how to direct them, & for the team to learn how to coordinate. It's REALLY impressive what they ended up accomplishing despite all that. Toby's last update on Ch3+ was optimistic about the team's growth & progress. Now it seems like they've gotten into the rhythm, & the added folx got to better understand where Toby's going with his ideas now that 2 chapters have helped better establish the pattern. My guess is about 2 more years (Sep 2024), or even sooner, for Chapters 3-5, if that's still how they're doing it. Unless he decides to get ambitious & allow the team to expand the scope further. But he's been very careful about not setting expectations too high; he doesn't want anyone to burn out, including himself. He purposefully left the graphical bar low so progress can be steady, which encourages the flow to keep going & not get bottlenecked. He has more help with music too, largely because his disability keeps him from composing the way he usually would want to. He'll do rough piano/voice sketches to compose, then his assistant/s transcribe it & put its basic skeleton into the editing program, & they tweak it a bit to his specifications, then let him handle the details. Sometimes along the way, they suggest a few ideas, & when he liked & used them, they've gotten co-credit. Though they are still very much his compositions. For being so new at game creation, & now at team leading, he's had SUCH wisdom & care through it all. I'm super impressed. These will all definitely still very much be his creations, but yeah, Ch 2, & especially 3 & onward, will have a lot more people to credit. They're all helping his fever dream (lol, seriously, that's what Deltarune came from!) become a reality. :3

It would be a lot of fun. SilvaGunner would make a really good video for... let's say April Fools' Day. And if you'd like orchestra rendition of some of undertale OST, I highly recommend checking out Osirois's channel. They added next layer to all of them in most of theirs covers.

There's an """secret npc""" on the game caller "Gaster" that is supposedly behind all the secrets, and, even though he never really appeares on the game, he has a theme song, and it's called... "Gaster's theme", super creative, i know. But, that theme's melody sometimes appears on other tracks, y'know, like creating another plot by connecting these musics. at the end of heartache, it ends abruptly because it's intended to loop on itself, as much of the music is. also, most of the boss battles have some level of sadness to them. the bosses are major characters in the story and are written like genuine people, if a bit cartoonish. if you win, and they die, they will be missed by their whole community, partners, families. even the death of a single character is deeply sad. so most of the time, you're trying to figure a way to get out of it without either of you dying.

Homestuck is a webcomic of 8113 pages and so it's a lot to read BUT the ost is still absooutely amazing.

The Undertale soundtrack is truly incredible for an unreal number of reasons. One guy, who also made everything else for the entire game nearly singlehandedly, made the entire soundtrack. Said soundtrack has absolutely amazing songs. Those absolutely amazing songs are *every single song on the like 100 song soundtrack* . Each amazing song is amazing on its own. And then, when you listen to all the songs together, you realize just how much *more* amazing than even that they really are. And then the same thing happens *again* hearing them in game. Basically every song has at minimum one, usually multiple, leitmotifs found in many other songs. These motifs signify themes or characters involved with the song. The theme you hear talking to a character is tied to the song you hear when you hear about their backstory, which is tied to the song that plays when you battle them, and each of those songs is also tied to four other songs that are related for multiple other reasons. The more songs from the soundtrack that you hear the more you'll recognize melodies and tunes from previous tracks. Honestly, something I desperately want to see someday is some music expert (you or otherwise) listening to the *entire* soundtrack and then trying to piece together their best guesses for the plot, dynamics, and relationships from the songs and leitmotifs alone. Then maybe give them images of the main characters as well as short blurbs about them (this character is very casual and funny, this one is caring and kind, this one is... Etc etc) and then seeing if they can connect the characters to the songs as well as the relationships and dynamics. The thing is, as much as that sounds impossible, I believe it very well might result in something not bad, due to how well crafted the songs and their relationships are.

I'd suggest "MJOLNIR Mix" (H2's version of the main theme), "Deference For Darkness: Rain", "In Amber Clad", "Under the Cover of Night", and "Heavy Price Paid" for an intial set.

I recommend watching undertale the musical by man on the internet. They make amazing remixes of the soundtrack and the voice acting is fantastic, I could not recommend it enough.

This is true, and unfortunately a few of the videos aren't on the website now, only available through the Undertale The Musical full video that has them all together one after the other, like Bergenstruckung. On a similar note, Deltarune The (Not) Musical is great, like his musical of NOW'S YOUR CHANCE TO BE A.

Ik you said that you're not a sountrack guy, but I'd love to recommend the The World Ends With You soundtrack. And honestly, most tracks sound like they could be their own separate songs you can hear on the radio or something like that

The songs are made with looping in mind, so they they flow seamlessly into themselves. Megalovania is a great example.

Battle against a true hero is the best theme for an enemy who is about to die heroically in a battle against you, the bad guy. The violins give it that "hopeless" feeling

if you enjoyed the undertale soundtrack, i highly recommend the deltarune soundtrack! it’s made by the same person, except it’s more recent and completely new. some of the songs even have motifs from undertale ones! some recommendations from me definitely are: lantern, the world revolving, lancer, vs susie, a cybers world?, nows your change to be a, and big shot! there’s a TON more but those are the ones off the top of my head ^_^!

The music are already great, but Toby Fox used a LOT of Leitmotifs(Music that has similar melodies)that's why its WAY more impactful for someone that really plays the game, because it fills them with Nostalgia feeling of the previous areas and themes Combined with the Touching story. . it became one of the most memorable Video Game of all time

Not only is the soundtrack just one guy, Toby also made pretty much the entire game by himself, if I'm remembering correctly he only had one other person on the team, being Temmie Chang, who helped out with some of the game's art. Toby is truly a madman
