In 1st edition I remember that the Splintered Fang's Poisoned Weapons double could be quite effective at flipping the odds of a fight on their head. Having a strength 3 fighter suddenly hitting anything on the board on a 3+ could make more of a difference than an Onslaught might, and seemed to make the 95 point Venomblood with duelling blades potentially quite impactful. It does require having a good grasp on when to go with Poison and when to go with Onslaught but it can mitigate the warband's low strength scores in a way that other warbands (such as the Cypher Lords, sniff) don't have.

Nice vid, as usual :) After playng slyvaneth quite a bit, I personnally prefer the scythe option rather than the swords on the kurnoths, even tho they are a bit less damage efficient. Mainly because often than additionnal range is either going to give you one more attack action per game (wich is enough to trump the sword stat wise) or a better control zone, wich is valuable.Also, even if it is minor, the scythe have a better use of +1 Attk buffs. But yeah, you have to makes sacrificies to put them in, so I'd run only one or two schytes if i'm trying to put 3 kurnoth in a list. Anyway, love this video serie, thanks !

Many thanks :) Yeah, scythes are a good option too; I just went with swords in this case due to the numbers but the range can be very useful.

With regards to the serpent caller, I’ve found you don’t need snakes per say. His ability works well with a Chaos Spawn. Which is harder to remove for your opponent

Yeah i felt my spawn was getting into whacky chaos eel territory so I went a step further and just ordered a third party giant serpent. A real mean looking one that I put on the chaos spawn base. Now it fits nicely! Anyways keep up the great content

So I think the main problem with vanguard is that they pay the premium for both the m5 and the ranged attacks. However, I do think that you'll probably be looking at a majority of Vanguard Hunters, with just the one Hurricane Crossbow; I don't think you need the prime with x-bow due to the availability of the rapid fire ability but it might be worth taking the due to the cost of the other heroes and your basic guys. If youve got the points, maybe allying in Calthia Xandire might be a good idea thanks to her triple giving extra attack actions to your ranged fighters.

What are your thoughts on Arch-Revenant?

The Arch Revenant is a solid piece, if a bit expensive thanks to its high move and fly runemarks. I feel like you can split its points into a dedicated brawler and dedicated fast utility fighters and get more bang for your buck; That t4 and 25 wounds is fine to keep it alive but it's not VERY tanky so you need to play it carefully (more like a Mizzenmaster then a Varanguard)

Many thanks :) Combos are something that I've been thinking about doing; We have had a Tabletop Simulator league go on over the last few weeks and we are seeing some real interesting lists when you arent constrained to what you physically own :)
