    Your work is very beautiful I have been painting since 2015, but my time is limited I see improvements but baby steps for me. I am very hard on myself, always think I can do better. The hobby is very diverse and rewarding at the same time I like the Scale 75 colours as well

    Your splintered fang turned out great. Really liked the druchi violet over the green gold metallic. I would love to see you paint some of the Game of Thrones - ASOIAF minis. Especially the Freefolk or Night's Watch. Many thanks.

    The first warband I painted for Warcry was these guys! They were a great combination of challenge and ease to paint. I find too many models can just be tedious. I’m super happy with how mine turned out (working on a second box now for some listbuilding changes to my warband).

    I love how the Vallejo Metal airbrush color pretty much acted like a contrast paint. I put it on and thought it would be too thin,, but wow,,, it worked nicely. I usually use the non-airbrush steel, but this worked way better.

    Scale 75 do produce an acrylic thinner for their paint line. You could try using just thinner, or a mix of thinner and water. You could try flow improver too.

  • @rustedbeetle

    @rustedbeetle

    Also, Scale 75 take a LOT of shaking. Significantly more than Vallejo/Army Painter/Citadel. You could try more agitation prior to thinning to make sure you are thinning mixed paint instead of heavily separated medium with some pigment.

    Don't know why I didn't think to put this in a comment before since you've discussed thinning metallic paints in other videos; I use glaze medium and flow improver to thin down all the metallic paints I use except for Vallejo Metal Color and the Vallejo Liquid Gold/Silver/Copper and I've never had a problem with the pigment and shiny material (the stuff they use to give it a reflective sheen) clumping or separating. Unfortunately I don't have a fixed ratio to offer since I go on a case by case basis with how thick different paints are, but I usually add more glaze medium proportionally than flow improver. Hopefully this helps out. Otherwise, I think these guys came out pretty cool looking; their weapons and armor definitely have a very gladiator feel to them and the color combinations make for some good contrast.

    The audio is not really a big deal, I wouldn’t worry too much about it. One of the things I enjoy about your videos is your thought process in choosing colors and techniques. For a lot of this video I was a bit dubious but when the final product comes together it looks great. I’m about a year and a half into my life as a miniature painter and I don’t have any aspirations to win awards. But I like to improve as I go and I’m finding your videos really educational even though I am not painting warcry models.

    What to paint next? Infinity has some awesome, but sometimes fiddly models. You've been doing fantasy so long, it would be nice to see some sci-fi or perhaps board game models. Or tackle some vehicles like Speed Freeks (if you are staying with GW, which are easier to sell off, probably). Have you tried Gaslands by Mike Hutchinson and published by Osprey? You convert hot wheels cars for arena style combat on Mars (or wherever). Defiantly a place to practice a new skill set. I have a bunch of the Bandai Star Wars models, and I cannot recommend them enough! The 1/144 ships are within the same size physically as the models you've been working on. The detail on them is unparalleled and would look fantastic in a diorama. Or if you want to stay with fantasy, something for Rangers of Shadow Deep? It is a solo or co-op small skirmish game that only has a rule set published; you provide your own minis.

    rustedbeetle I may dip a toe back into s I-fi...I've actually painted Infinity in the past, but lately tend to shy away from metal minis. Especially finely detailed one with small pieces. But they are gorgeous models!

    @@TheMiniJunkie I see a lot of people giving up on metal mins. I love the weight of them, but hate trying to do anything to them. I love resin models; the detail can be astounding. Perhaps something Weird War II, like Konflikt 47 or something from Dust Tactics. I don't know what kind of access you have locally, or even in Canada, but there are a lot of interesting model lines to pick up, especially if they are on clearance.
