    I’m 61 years old. My daughter bought a wakeboard boat . I’ve only water skied 30 years ago with two skis once. After 3 tries I got up. I got pretty relaxed and almost cocky. Never had so much fun. She and I were the only ones who wanted to do it so I got to ride all afternoon. I’m so addicted to it. Can’t wait to go again. I wasn’t quite good enough to let go of the rope but I got it slack many times. This video will help me big time! Well done video, thank you so much! Boomer pride! lol 😂

    Love watching these videos to improve, I consider myself a pretty good wake surfer as I progressed through last summer and this summer. Does ones weight play a big part of getting air? And what board would y'all recommend for a guy like me. I'm 6'1" and 210 pounds. Thanks!!

    Boat speed will vary depending on the amount of weight you have in the boat. Start at the slowest speed possible that still gives you a clean wake without whitewash. As you go faster the wake will get longer, but you'll lose some push, so you may have to slow it down. Typically that means between 10-12MPH for most boat/weight configurations.

    +mike powers It does not have a ton of cross over unless you are doing tow ins. I think it does give you a little more practice learning airs and board control.

    whats the perfect speed to have on the boat?

  • @WakeMAKERS

    @WakeMAKERS

    8 жыл бұрын

    There is no one speed that will universally work for everyone. We recommend between 10-12.5 mph. The correct speed will depend on the boat, amount of ballast, etc. Try different speeds and see what works best on your boat.

    It is possible. You will have to do a handle pass behind your back as you rotate the spin though.

  • @D15AV0W3D
    @D15AV0W3D11 жыл бұрын

    anywhere from 9.5 to 11 mph, depending on the boat, weight setup, etc. I go 10.5. Weight your boat out, start at 9.5, and go up in increments to see which speed works best. But adjust slowly. Let the boat run at one speed for a minute or two, travelling as straight as possible, and take note of the wake characteristics. Ride behind it at each speed increment you use to test, and see what gives you the best push. Once you get the speed and weight dialed in, take note of it and you're all set!

    Do you need a tower to wake surf?

  • @WakeMAKERS

    @WakeMAKERS

    10 жыл бұрын

    Absolutely not, in fact we usually hook the rope to the pylon so it's not swinging back-and-forth over rear seat passengers. A tower will make it a little easier to get up out of the water for someone that is just learning, but you can absolutely do without one.
