Hey, saw that you're using a Phase 5 Avenger, would you recommend it if just starting out? What's the difference between the Matrix and the Avenger other than the 2" fin on the Avenger? Was looking at it and wondering why they're able to offer it at such a lower price point.

this is really useful - great top see a "beginner" and not just a pro doing it - as feels more easy to understand and see progression - thanks

What’s your weight setup on your G?

Can you tell us about the board she's riding? I'm a beginner with triple fin, heavier, surf style board that is very much designed to help you learn how to get up and ride a wave. I would like to graduate to the next level but the smaller/skim style boards are very unstable. Any recommendations would be great. The board being used by hanna looks like a nice hybrid style??

Just try and test a skim style board out for a few hours and get used to the feeling and then decide if you want to. Hyperlite boards are great and a little less expensive than phase five but phase five boards are well designed and really high quality!
