for uns here in germany (and other countries in europe) the thing with the removable flippertab is actually a (kinda) good thing. By law, we are not allowed to publicly carry a knife that can be opened with one hand and then locks. Locking knives have to be two-handed-opening knives. Wich makes a lot of the really good and interesting (american/chinese/etc.) knives not really wearable for us. So by making the flippertab removable, we can still experience somewhat of the same knife, without getting in the way of the law. They basically make the knife accessible for us (: So you see the italians are making a special feature, to solve a "special" issue.

If you haven't already, you should try the Lionsteel Thrill slipjoint. It has all of the positive parts of this knife, with none of the negatives, and is a dream for lightweight carry.

Thanks for this good review. I’m just not sure about most Italian knives in general. For EDC I just do not like the thick blade stock.

I've also had a couple disappointments with Lionsteel. They do have some very good looking blades, but...🤔 On the fense about it. Good vid Jake😁👍

Man, you are so right! This is just a piece of crap of a knife and I am an owner of a 500+ USD damascus variant bought as new. I exchanged lengthy emails with Andrea from Lionsteel trying to find a solution in order to alleviate the issue with the crappie action, but in vain. Mine was making also a screeching noise. It was terrible. I ended in polishing the etching in order to smoothen the action and actually making some jimpings on the flipper tab for a better grip when flipping. And is heavy!.. 167 grams I think. This knife was a nightmare...but strangely, It always finds its way back in my pocket. It is a good looking knife, at least mine...and now it almost drops shut. At the end of the day, it is a titanium integral with a Chad Nichols damascus blade, an intersting clip and the blade locking mechanism that you didn't mention... It has something. I don't think I would sell mine.

I wanted to like this knife. Got a good price off of a friend. The pocket clip system was nice for not being a hot spot, but also was hard to use as a pocket clip. The clip wobbled alot as well. The flipping action on mine is weak at best. Not snappy enough for my liking. The extra lock system is lose, so it will spin in the lock position, making closing of the lock hard. Overall, the positives, would b the blade shape and steel. And the integral frame. Besides that, I would explore other better options at the price tag.

Yeah, nothing about that knife interests me. Lionsteel makes good modern slip joints, but their other offerings are a little iffy, from what I've seen.

It’s a bad knife. The tedlon washers are why. They suck. Too much friction. You get a grinding sound until you break them in sufficiently.
