Lions Choke Buffalo Then Start To Feast!
Үй жануарлары мен аңдар
Incredible sighting as lions choke a buffalo and then start to feast!
The Selati male lions caught a buffalo bull on the soccer pitch, we arrived just in time to see the last life drain out of the huge beast as one lion had a choke hold on the neck and the others were already starting to feast. Later in the afternoon the buffalo had been moved to a bit of shade and the very full lions were still feeding.
Filmed in the Sabi Sand Nature Reserve, Greater Kruger National Park, South Africa

About Rob The Ranger Wildlife Videos:
The purpose of the channel is to show what it is like to experience seeing wild animals on an African safari. Nature Documentaries are often highly edited to tell a story, wildlife safaris are not, and the idea here is to show the wildlife sightings the way they were seen. Safari tours in Africa are generally suitable for all ages and this channel can be considered an educational channel about incredible nature, some scenes in the nature videos may be more graphic than people are used to but this is the reality of nature and is what you would see if you were present on such a safari in person. Safaris in Kenya, South Africa, or any other African country are an unrivalled experience for anyone with a passion for nature, wildlife photography, and travel. Hopefully the animal videos on this channel can provide a glimpse into what the nature experience is like and encourage more people to take a wildlife safari one day. LOL, the one lion suffocating the buffalo is like, "Why do I always get stuck with this job while everyone else gets to eat? Hello? Guys! This dude is still alive and you are eating him! Gimme a break!"
Rob I love how clear your videos are I mean most people make it so blurry you can't even see it but you make it clear thanks man!!!!
"Isn't it dangerous for those people standing over there by that bush?" "Yes." End of conversation.

You mess with the bull, you get the horns.... or not 😅
I love the faint baboon calls in the background, you know the hyenas will be standing by. But, they will be way back in the shadows. These four lads are worried about that baboon attracting a few larger dominant male lions.
After the lions eat, they look so relaxed it reminds me of humans with carb overloads.
Its hard no doubt to watch an animal suffer by means of being eaten by another but it's how nature rolls. It's a spectacular vid, ty

Lions typically get expelled from the pride when they're 5/6, but in order to mate they need to take over another pride. However, they need to build up enough strength and confidence to do so, which means taking down a series of large kills so they can become big and strong enough. So they can challenge those apex lions to a takeover.

Its a great video The Selsti male 🦁 lion they were great hunters really like it 👌 thank you
I think the lion biting the windpipe can feel the buffalo’s pulse with it’s front leg and knows when it’s heart stopped. Think of the Trafalger lion statues showing how lions sit with their front legs flat against the ground. I think that they “hear” or pick up the vibrations of animals walking. I was watching a wildlife program and they were filming in infra red at night and an antelope had a bright patch on its hind quarters then suddenly the lions went for it and caught it and the narrator said they must have heard the limp but I think that they picked up the vibrations of it limping.
Lion in the back has a mohawk. He must be the most badass of them all.

The buffalo looks relaxed,
Okay! the suffocator didn't keep suffocating the buffalo for hours this time. He learned his lesson from the last kill and started to feast! "Is he dead guys, is he dead?" (remember him? He was still choking the buffalo after the it was torn to tatters by the other pride males)
So male lions do hunt ^^...i was so used just seeing them eat when work is done!! Nice video...
Looks so relaxing for the buffalo.
4:14 a disturbance in the woods, must be chuck norris again.

I love aggresive the male lions are. They are regal 👑
I know this is nature but its still sad when you see the dead buffalos glazed eyes open
I can't believe the buffalo is pretending to be dead as he let's the lions tuck in to him. What a guy.
Rob I hope you create a compilation video or docu of Selati males and Majingilanes lions and their lionesses. And tell us the story of them.
Hey ROB!!✌. WELL at least it's dead. Now comes the pulling of the intestines. The barbaric feast begins. What is that A BABOON???? Great footage... ✌👍
the people who disliked the video have obviously never ever seen carnivores
I never realised they took that long to suffocate their prey...Brutal for sure.
@Zarahification

It's a buffalo. Buffaloes are huge animals with thick skin, broad and extremely muscular neck. Therefore it's difficult to suffocate a buffalo. Sometimes, lions will clamp their jaws around the prey's mouth and nose instead of the throat, and suffocate it in what is often called a 'kiss of death' - they are most often seen using this technique with buffalo. However other preys are killed quicker than a cape buffaloes
Em qual fazenda foi essa filmagem?!
The way he applied pressure to the neck to kill him reminds me of a Minnesota policeman.

Lions love buffalo
The lions always go for the rear, tearing open the stomach, because the most nutritious part is the intestines. Lots of vitamins and minerals. Especially important for nursing mothers.
hahaha I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that
the soccer field? remind me to never play soccer there!
Why do I have grocery stores to buy meat when lions so easily pick off their meal without dropping a penny for it? That shit is so unfair! And they are bold enough to French-kiss the meat.
