@@bobbythenotsogamer4916 There is no exact answer i would say. There are however three players who deserve this title: Messi, Maradona and Pele. These three meant so much for theur generations in which they played in and they dominated their times so much. But there is no clear GOAT.

You hardly ever se him make a mistake also and he can get the defence out of a tight spot Hes like Muhamad Ali as a boxer he was untouchable ys he lost the title 3 times but he came back and won it 3 times Messi will be talked about the way Ali and Tyson still are. Also i think Pele is a little jelous he knows a fw hundred of his goals were freindly and exibitions as they used to count them thats why he has a 1000 odd but in game competitive leo has already beat him, and i love pele he was the 1st real player to dazzle or maybe stanley mathews if you dont know him look him up played till he was 50 and he was doing cruyff turns before cruyff was in school i think im sure he won the ballon dor aswell and twice european player of the year man he was good playing footy noone had seen in Britain. A shame hes known in UK but not so much rest of the world hes worth a look. No messi though lol.

You can't really say he is the best of all time and just disregard every single legend of this game because not everybody on the pitch plays RW there defenders goalies and midfielders. So you can't compare him to the likes of maldini and beckenbaur or kahn and neuer and yashin. Because they have different roles on the pitch. Also bear in mind that football developed over time and there are different styles of play throughout the history of football But at messi's role.. Yup he is the best of all time no doubt.. Maybe maradona could be better I don't know tbh..

I don't think 18/19 was even in the Top 3 of his best seasons. Not by numbers/stats, trophies or general performance. Sure, he was brilliant. But there were definitely better, more surreal season that I remember. For instance the Guardiola years: 08/09, 10/11 or 11/12, although Chelsea cracked Barcas gameplay in the UCL that season. But he scored 50(!) goals in LaLiga alone and was the UCL top-scorer for the fourth consecutive year. We can count us lucky that we got to witness the best player of all time. When I was younger, I always envied the people that got to see Pelé playing. Of course didn't know that I'm going see the player that was going to superseded Pelé. And Cristiano too! Another all-time best, playing at the same time. Even playing in the same league! That's like having Maradona and Pelé playing at the same time. I don't think that there ever was a greater _"duell"_ in football history.

i think 26 is so underrated because everytime i rewatch that its like the ball just stops in middair - twice and from a ball from the halfway line to be controlled like that and to take two touches before it hits the ground is just breathtaking. That goal is just too good it makes me rethink whats possible in football.
