Lion Hunting : It’s not EASY!
Фильм және анимация
Hunting mountain lions .. trailing a big Tom Lion for two days and catching him. Camping out with the hounds and Big Agnes my mule. #dryground. #born100yearstoolate
I like being out and seeing the country and following the hounds while they cold trail in mostly roadless country . I know when I do get on the short end of the track the hounds will do their best to catch the lion if I'm in a place that it is possible .. so many variables enter into it .... I would catch more if I ran camera grids or dragged roads or drove roads in an area that snowed ..
Here yo see what it's really like to trail and hunt Mountain Lions in the Desert Southwest on Mules or Horses. You will see the hardships, the miles and the adventure involved in this style of hunting. You will see the love and care we have for our hounds. The training and care provided for our dogs as we provide them with the opportunity to do what they were bred to do. Training and care for our mules and hounds as we progress in our education of this sport. Come along the journey with me as I learn and you can learn right along with me on this quest I have to become a true dry ground lion hunter

I love how you show the actual time and hard work houndsman put in to working their dogs. Some hound hunters might actually learn a few things if they listened closely to what you are explaining. Hound hunting has been misrepresented to the public as a masochistic-blood bath that's a cake walk, and it's far from that ! This is sadly a dying art due to the Antis.

Thank you ... that is what I really try to do .. show how it really is .. lots of videos out of hunters killing lions .. the real joy of lion hunting for me at least is working with the hounds riding through the country trying to figure out where the lions are traveling .. watching those hounds work out a track .. and when and if you catch one petting them up .. if you choose to shoot it go ahead but you don't have too ... Thank you Ben .. you get it I do really appreciate that !

We live in a time where we shouldn’t over burden Mother Nature and not over kill majestic animals. My father wasn’t a hunter but a life long friend is. He’s even raised hounds just like this. I even adopted a couple pups in 06’. I went hunting with him on all kinds of different species hunts. I finally decided to try a hunt to learn to field dress. Got a antelope with a borrowed bow. Haven’t harvested since . Don’t need to. Nothing to prove shooting a bear or cat .

a thousand bucks for a sleeping bag? Good lord. I have had a couple of nights where it got down to 5*F in the back of the truck with the canopy. I have 2 bags. Usually one is good enough, but sometimes I'll put one inside the other. I used to have one for under the dogs too, and then on top I'd run a couple of wool army blankets. They seemed to be pretty cozy in their set up.
