Skito Saddle Pads
I was in the market for a new saddle pad after my old one wore out.
Agnes, my riding mule, has a bad back and it makes a big difference to have a good saddle pad.

You have nothing to prove to anyone, except yourself. We are very close in age. You reach an age when you find its harder to do anything, from crawling out of bed, climbing up into a high truck, to picking up a saddle. We get frustrated when we find our new limits dont go nearly as far as they used to. So when faced with a challenge, much like this one, we get our dander up. We push ourselves beyond our limits, more than logic dictates, to prove to ourselves we still have the grit to finish the challenge laid before us. Sometimes it will bite us in the ass. Sometimes it doesn't. Regardless, we can say we gave it our best. Congratulations for making it to the top, you're a inspiration to all us facing our golden years.

@@BrettVaughnB100 Sound wisdom my friend. I saw the conflict raging inside of you when you were contemplating turning around when Agnes gave out. The "I know nothing to prove" moment. Then a trigger was pulled, the thought of turning around now would affect you mentally for days and months to come was too much to bear. Its when you thought "F*** this, Im going to the top."

Atta boy!! Don’t forget Brett is 62 years old! I’m 60 don’t think my knee would handle that. I grew up around there , my Uncle had that old ranch leased on the south slope. Many stories. But that trail was an old Apache smoke signal trail. The Army signal corps improved it. They would flash Morse code from the Franklins at Ft. Bliss ( El Paso) to the Organs, Cookes peak, to Signal peak to , Stiens peak, to Ft Bowie AZ. How they finally caught Geronimo. That’s one ride i regret not going on.

About 7 or 8 years ago, my cousin and I were hunting mule deer on the Western side of Cook's Peak. We weren't seeing much, but we did see a big ol' rattlesnake. Well, I got a flat tire on my truck and my spare was flat, too. So, I remembered that rattlesnake and went and caught him and brought him over to the truck and had him bite the flat tire. That tire swelled up enough from the rattlesnake poison that I could drive into Deming and get the tire fixed.

Holy Moses. You are one tough old bird. I would have conspired with Agnes and just grazed. Also, knowing most accidents happen going back down when you're worn out, Agnes and I would have had a party waiting. Respect and Merry Christmas.

Awesome trip and an amazing view from that area. You’re lucky to live in New Mexico to have beautiful terrain to ride on. My first trip to New Mexico from Georgia was in 2006, when my wife and a friend went just south of Roswell around Dexter and Artesia to pick up a Quarter Horse broodmare, filly on her side and mare was bred back by the time we picked them up. The ranch we were on was the Bogle Ltd Ranches (Turkey Track Ranch, Corona Ranch & Four Lakes Ranch) that totaled at the time 520,000 acres, awesome country. I went again in 2022 for a Mule deer hunt in the Lincoln National Forest Unit 36 and saw some really beautiful views but just seeing the mountain lion track was a bit unnerving but had a great time. Thanks for letting me tag along on this trip! Just Subscribed to your channel and I’m enjoying it!

Wow, that’s cool that you know the Bogle’s, we met Stuart Bogle at the Ranch headquarters in Dexter and had spoken with Stuart on the phone 2 years prior to meeting him and felt like I’d always had known him. I’ve spoken with him around 2012 to let him know how the Granddaughter of Peppy San Badger had turned out and that I’d won money on her in Team Penning and Ranch Sorting. Sure hope Stuart Bogle is doing well, he’s a great guy! Take care and be safe out on the trail! Greg
