Wow! That was a very serious fight between 2 lions pretty evenly matched. Thank God they figured that out for themselves and stopped before either one was seriously hurt!!

I have read that lions have the highest muscle to weight ratio of any animal on earth, and I believe it. I don't see a single ounce of fat anywhere on these animals. It's all skin, bones, and muscles.

Lions know that a single injury means a risk to life as in ability to hunt. So they won't risk it unless absolutely necessary

Never like watching animals fight so fiercely, but this goes to show what sheer power and intensity that lions have for whatever they fight for.

After watching a video of a Leopard attacking a film crew on a jeep right after fighting with wild dogs, I would not want to be those people completely exposed in an open vehicle at 0:30, having a lion looking right at them while it's still full of adrenaline!

There is a lot more distance between lions and the camera than on the other side. It can still be dangerous of course

U don’t see injuries obvious because of the fur and distance to animals, on close inspection they most likely have… but i see your point that it’s not clear were the holes are if any and if there’s any scratches etc Look closely this wasn’t a vicious fight, the loosing lion at the followed the winner and the winner looked at him to check if he’s ok and it looked more of a disagreement about something or simply power release.

They’re in the same coalition so they weren’t really trying to hurt each other. My chihuahuas fight the same way they did without hurting each other.

Interesting difference in environment in India, no hyenas to compete with, yes they have leopards and India's version of the wild dog the Dhole, the Dhole pack have been known to kill a full grown male tiger and the Dhole is no bigger then an African wild dog

Yes Asiatic lions are endangered so it's rare to see unrelated males, I believe there's over 100 now from the remaining 21 years back

They aren't serious or they'd be doing real damage.

Now they can become friends both sides with mutual respect

These cats are extremely tough and durable. I've seen a lioness receive a nasty zebra kick to the torso area, and she tanked it like a boss.

Are those ppl in the jeep shielded? It's hard to tell how close if at all the lions are. Camera depth perception is distorted. I can te the ppl are armed but it would not be right if they had to kill a lion.

Two brothers fighting over dominance

Left handed it to right

Prime Asiatic lions with smaller manes. The one on the right communicated he doesn't want to fight anymore by dropping his head. He then sat down to say he is not a threat. Both gestures accepted by the left lion who proceeded to walk away. No doubt there will be more encounters and there'll need to quickly prevail a dominant one to establish hierarchy. This will help to stop full on fights and minimize the risk of injuries which neither lion really wants. The left lion that walked away seemed to get the slight upper hand this time.
