Hey Lion Whisperers, it has been a while since we showed a Feeding Day at the Sanctuary. We take a lot of care to help prepare and actually complete the feeding process. It is important to cater to each animal and not overfeed. The Lions become Happy Lions once fed and they literally do not stop until it is all gone. For a Lion possession is everything with food, especially when not sharing a carcass. Think you will enjoy, let me know in the comments below. Thank you for the ongoing support, it makes such a difference !

What an amazing video. We always watch lovely walks and plays. Not giving a great deal of thought to behind the scenes. This video is a real eye opener. Firstly, the preparation. Wow. I suddenly was aware of the enormity of the task. Was good to see a few of the backroom helpers. So thank you for that. Then came dinner time and the reactions of the dinner guest. The up close shots. The sound effects. Suddenly, open a new insight into our beloved lions. I really enjoyed this disclosure❤. Thank you for sharing .🙏🙏🙏

Does it show any difference on what they get for supper, by the smell and how they dig in, If I remember it right they like horse meat best and domestic pig flesh the least? I really enjoyed this very much, always keen on watching their behaviour in different situations🥰
The pure happiness Bobcat shows when he sees Kevin always makes me smile.

Sounds like one of my cat's. One minute she's beating the crap out of one, comes over to me and talks and hugs me, she jumps off my lap and then goes back to beating the other one 😠
Bobcat was thorn between his love for daddy and his hunger 🤣🤣 Meg is like the chillest cat ever and let me tell you that Icky's mane looked glorious today. He seems to be rather protective of his food, he had the same behaviour as last feeding video
I love 7:22 "you see what happens when you're a pig?"🤣🤣

Neige eats like a toddler 😂
5:22 Incredible to see that side of an otherwise absolutely sweet boy! Puts into perspective just how great Kev's bond is with these cats, as they clearly still have their "wild" side!
What a staggering amount of meat these cats must go through on a weekly basis! Considering all the different dietary needs of each cat, you would really have to be extremely well organized! My goodness. Well done Kevin and crew! 💖🦁
Kevin can you show us how the Leopards and Hyenas get fed? I have to assume it can't be easy to get the Hyenas separated and ensure food makes it to the low ranking clan members. Would love to see it!

I volunteered at the sancuary the start of 2020, feeding day was one of the best days ever to get to experience. The memories from that time are unmatched.
😂😂Nira throwing it up was so good! Loved this! ❤️🦁
Whenever I've watched lion documentaries I noticed how the whole pride will tend to share when its a large carcass, even if they do naturally bicker over the bigger cuts of meat. Also seen a few rare prides where the male(s) will forgo eating at all in order to watch over the pride as they eat so other predators don't interfere. Its fascinating stuff! ❤
It’s beautiful to see big cats 🦁 eat. A major change in their behavior towards Kevin, when they are eating. 👍🏻
BON APPETIT Lovely Lions and Lionsess. 👍🥰🐾🌹🍀🌺🌿🐈
Good morning Kevin 🌞sending a big hug 🤗 to my beautiful Bobcat ❤
Kevin, this is an incredible video. To see how loving and playful they are with you, then to hear those growls and defensive postures and realize they could probably kill you over a piece of meat. It’s just…WOW. The way they crunch the bones in the carcass, I shutter to think what they could do to a human. When you get a large carcass, like a cow or horse…I want to be as delicate as possible…but does your staff have to cut up the animal? While the lions are locked up eating, is that when the enclosures are cleaned? Thank you for this behind the scenes look at what it takes to properly care for these majestic animals. Your love and dedication to saving these precious animals is so appreciated by those of us that love wildlife. God bless you, your staff, and all the wonderful animals. Love and respect from Tennessee USA. 🥰🦁

Just a bit from what I've learned in Kevin's previous food videos.....His staff does cut up the meat, and it is weighed and carefully inspected by each and every one of his staff. They must take everything to account with each individual lion and their needs. Bobcat might get something completely different than Icarus because he may have a particular diet. They also put different vitamins and minerals inside the meats (I have seen it as a powder) before distributing to the lions. As we know as well, Kevin is incredibly cautious of where he gets the meat from. He has his different sources he trusts and has used for many years, but he does get donations from others, but that meat is tested before it goes to the lions. However, since the last time he got a random donation made one of the lions almost die (back a few months ago), I believe he no longer accepts from anyone he doesn't truly know. Don't blame him there one bit. His team loves those lions as much as Kevin does, and they will do whatever it takes to keep the lions happy, and healthy and make sure they are eating exactly as they need because they can easily over eat, and that can cause big problems especially with some of the oldest lions. I hope this teeny bit of info was helpful. Have a great day, and please be safe.

The sounds they make while eating, their talking to us "stay away from my food", I love it. Love feeding videos, too, the cracking of bones, wow! I was eating lunch while watching this and laughed out loud and almost spit my food out when Ms. Piggy started to couch. 😂 Thanks for sharing this amazing time. Much love, STL Missouri ❤❤❤
The preparation of the meat itself was most interesting Thank you, Kevin.
Really enjoyed watching the lions feeding. It was really interesting. Love this channel and thank you and your team for everything you do for these animals
Those are beautiful cats and special people taking care of them.
This is the first time I recognized the sheer power of the lion jaws, teeth, claws, even the rasping tongue. Crunching bones, scraping off ligaments & that deeeep guttural growl. Yikes!! Carnivores.... my heart is pounding. What if I were being hunted by these mighty animals? Scary to imagine. Yet, they are what they are. Majestic, powerful and always hungry. 🦁 Thank you Kevin & crew, for the opportunity to witness the top of the food chain in action. Magnificent footage!

Love that crackle warning they make. Sir Kevin always pleased to tune in. ❤❤❤ Take care.
Beautiful channel. Good job crew.
Very cool and interesting! All the crunching and growling! The most interesfinv part was when the lion (can't remember who) was both happy and unhappy to see you during their feeding time because they weren't used to being there. Amazing! The natural instinct to defend their food kicked in yet they knew you were not actually part of feeding with them and no threat to their food. Thanks, Kevin! Jennifer San Francisco Bay area USA

Thanks for sharing feeding the lions!! It was a trip down memory lane to feeding the animals at the Rocky Mountain Conservation Center back in the 90's, now known as The Wild Animal Sanctuary. Only two differences I noted were that we were using frozen meat from a processing place for zoo animals, so other than turkey necks, their meat was individually portioned in large chunks... and, the other difference, we sprinkled their meat with powdered super green algae. We could tell the lions were anxious about you and the film crew's presence for feeding day. I was worried they might take out their anxieties on each other over their food. They want you to have enjoyed that filming... and never need to do it again!! Thanks again!! For everything you do!!
Providing THAT THE PEOPLE WHO SUPPLY AND SUPPORT THIS GENTLEMAN AND HIS FAMILY OF LIONS.. GIVE THEM ALL HEALTHY AND GOOD FRESH FOOD FOR ALL
