In 1998 I was 14 years old and saw a commercial for "now that's is what I call rock music" which played a small clip of "one step closer" and I was hooked on Linkin Park. I downloaded all their songs on napster. In 2004 my first gf, of 5 years, cheated on me and broke up with me, and "in the end" was the only song I could listen to for months. It still hurts a bit to this day, but i have learned that it's ok to be sad. It's a part of life. This band has united people through their emotions for decades and across generations... It's awesome to know music can connect people in this way. None of us are all that different, be it older or younger, we're all the same.

Lost everything I cared about in this world, and this life. My demons won, and it destroyed the only thing that kept me happy. Here I am bawling my eyes out. Thank you Chester for your beautiful music. Just wish I wasn't the way I am.

I remember jumping on the bed singing Numb at the top of my lungs when I was a boy. Growing up with mental illness was never easy. I was different, people treated me that way, but your music was a place I belonged. Because of you now, I have faith; now, I know there's Somewhere we all Belong. You will be greatly missed.

Honestly, Linkin Park has such a raw, genuine, heart wrenching sound to their music. You can cry with it on your worst days bc the words speak to you, and the melody is achingly beautiful. Memory eternal, Chester.
