@@sundayoliver3147 He's trying to divert attention to something he thinks he can unite Republicans on: being suspicious of education and belittling and smearing 'liberal' students and their valid peaceful protests. They don't like education. They falsely think it teaches kids loads of Marxism, as if students don't study all systems in the world, including capitalism, feudalism, monarchies, revolutions etc. It is usually the most ignorant and most proud of their ignorance who do this. You'll see "School of Hard Knocks" in their profiles because they think they're smarter and students are arrogant in an ironic twist. Not saying all students *are* smarter, FYI, nor is formal education the only, or best way to become educated, but clearly I'm criticising the sort of person who makes false presumptions about college despite never having gone. When one is so arrogant about proclaiming they are smarter than a whole set of people who have opted to take on more formal education, that is clearly not smart, but simply ignorant and arrogant. They tend not be self-aware enough to realise this most of the time. Also FAOD, I don't think I'm smarter than any group of persons, regardless of whether they went to college or not, but I do know I know more on specific areas when I study a subject properly. People who dismiss such studies, particularly when they have no relevant information, are fools IMHO.

Israel is the US's stronghold against the Arabic "enemy" nations, by which it is surrounded and largely despised. The Arab nations that are our sorta allies are, like Israel, defined more by their military/political import (not any inherent value, affinity, or commonality). Columbia student here. In the span of two weeks, over 200 of my fellow peers, professors, and friends were arrested. I witnessed first hand my peers be shoved, beaten, and pinned to the ground by the police, who purposefully locked out the student press and medics, threatening them with arrest so there would be no witnesses/student media coverage. Campus now is so eerily desolate - there are barely any students left here, even less than winter break. No professors, doctors/nurses, or students living off campus are allowed. Many have lost their access to food and Columbia health services. I keep thinking to myself: what is a university without its students, its professors, its workers? They brought in an army of police officers to Columbia, but what is the use of an army if there are no students left? Seth, I’ve been watching your content for years and I want to deeply express my gratitude and appreciation to you and your team for the comedy you are able to bring in such dark times. I am barely coping right now, but it is videos like these that keep me afloat. I am sure I am not the only student that feels this. We appreciate you and all the hard work you put into this 💙 Edited to add: Thank you all for your kind, thoughtful replies. I deeply appreciate your support. Please do not praise me - I have faced nothing compared to my arrested classmates and professors. They are far more brave than I am. Since this is gathering a lot more attention than I expected, I would like to take the opportunity to emphasize the importance of getting information from a reliable source of media. As many of you know, media has only been allowed into Columbia from the times between 2pm - 4pm. So there has been much misinformation. If you would like to keep up with what’s going on at Columbia, please look into student press organizations, such as Spec (articles), Bwog (small updates), or WKCR (live broadcast). These organizations are the only media that has 24/7 access to Columbia and therefore provide far more objective information as to what has been going on within the past 2 weeks. Edit 2: For those who would like to read more about what happened at Columbia, here is an Op-Ed by Columbia College Student Council: www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/article/2024/may/04/columbia-university-student-protest-gaza

That is horrific. So much for your Constitution, eh? My sympathies. Please vote wisely and choose good leaders. The US has been on the wrong side of world history too often of late when it has so much power, with that comes a lot of responsibility - I'd like to see them use that power for good and promote peace again, like they did in my country (Ireland). I hope the situation improves, and send my best wishes. I stayed in Colombia for a night when I was over on a J1 visa as a student. It seems like education is constantly under attack in the US, from under-funding, poor pay for teachers, and over-priced degrees. Bodes poorly for the future of such a powerful nation with so much great potential. Also the situation in Gaza is awful and I completely understand why people would protest in US colleges if their fees are used to support such cruelty. I condemn Hamas most certainly, but I *also* condemn the actions of the Israeli government under Netanyahu.

Is Wal Mart not supposed to have them removed from their properties, that they are illegally occupying, so they can continue to do business there and serve their other clients who aren't protesting? I don't care what rights you think you have or how important an issue is to YOU, your rights end when they begin to infringe on the rights of others. There is no free pass to do whatever you want just because you are 'protesting.' You still have to obey the law when conducting your protest and be respectful of the rights of your fellow citizens.

Way to show how you think grown adult are irresponsible children and show that your parents paid for your college that you're obviously making good use of.

As much as I agree the speakers words are condescending, most of the students he is addressing likely do have their very wealthy parents paying their tuition. And that’s fine. In fact we should all be glad to see kids who come from well off families trying to fight injustice Also in general please avoid “guarantees” that you back up with arbitrary numbers.
