Love this song and the way Linda sang it. I miss hearing Linda sing live, but know it can't be helped. I am still a big Linda Rondstadt fan and this song is one of the reasons why.

Love this lady for many years.

I would always listen to a Linda Ronstadt cover. Whoever she covered, it was always an exceptional performance.

This great love song teaches us to never ever toy around with the hearts of those that we care about. Being a player will do you in every time.

Can't get any better than this. Unless Smokey & Linda sing it together.

I love all of Linda's music!

When this song was a hit, I was 14 and at school talking to one of my black female friends. I don't remember how we got on the subject of this song or what I said to get this response from my friend but she put her hand on her hip, got her head doing that twisting thing with the neck, that black girls at that time did and she said with complete conviction, "Linda Ronstadt is BLACK!!!" It was a time when white people literally didn't even ATTEMPT to sing a soul song like this! Only Linda . . .

I've always loved this song, either by Linda or Smokey Robinson. It's a panty dropper, no matter who sings it!

Love Linda's rendition but Teena Marie was the best tribute to Smokey. Linda is of Mexican descent as well and did one of the best albums canciones de mi padre sung all in Spanish complete with the best mariachi band, vocals, and arrangements beautifully done.

Kain Peneku oh ok. Gotta check that out. I've loved this song since I heard it on a 70s pop/ soft rock compilation CD that I bought years ago. Linda's version is on that CD. Seal also does a great cover of the song. I heard it not too long ago and that is actually what brought me (back) here.

I might be the only one who says so, but having heard this version by Linda as a post-toddler and not caught the Miracles' original until at least half a decade later (when it was included in Coming to America), I'm loyal to Linda's version.
