I always liked Linda but want a super fan or anything. I did have her greatest hits volume 2 and the Trio album. Anne Wilson was always my favorite female singer of that era and being honest, I considered her the best. I recently watched a documentary about Linda, here on KZread I think? Even though I was very aware of pretty much everything she had done and all the styles, having it laid out before me in one hour blew my mind. Also what Dolly Parton, JD Souther and Emmylou had to say about her really impacted me. Now, while Anne is still my favorite, I do objectively believe that Linda is the G.O.A.T.

LINDA RONSTADT I grew up listening to Mexican music. My family is Mexican and I always identified myself culturally as Mexican, although I have a German last name. There are many Germans in northern Mexico who married Mexican people, as is the case with my grandfather. This was music that I learned from my grandfather, that he learned from his father and that at the same time I learned from my father. I remember my dad singing in Spanish and playing the guitar, harmonizing with his brothers, and my grandfather singing and playing the guitar as a soloist. And then, on Saturday afternoons my father played records by Los Panchos, Trio Calaveras, Trío Tariácuri, Lola Beltrán, Mariachi Vargas. I loved all these records and wanted to sing them, but I only knew part of the words. She did not speak Spanish very well when she was a child, so she believed that Spanish was the language in which you sang and English was the language in which you spoke. For me, Spanish was always a musical language.

Her third platinum album in a row (Hasten Down the Wind 1976)contained Los Siento mi Vida - a song she wrote with her dad. Canciones de mi Padre(1985) is the biggest selling non-English language album in US History. In the end it was that voice, that glorious voice. She defied the suits for sure and sang her heart out.

I love this performance of La Charreada! She's from Tucson and grew up singing mariachi music. She can belt it!

Linda is a national treasure, for sure.

I'm half Italian & half Polish, but I grew up with parents who loved Mariachi music! She is wonderful.

Love both of her Mexican albums! Linda Ronstadt can sing anything. She has also performed opera. You should hear her sing La Cigarra and Por un Amor. Her opera is from Pirates of Pensance.

Cindy Tamez I just love that huge smile she had when singing these beautiful songs. She looks so happy. I love the pride and projection of energy.

Linda’s Mexican classic songs gives us such pride of our culture. I have the album from which this song is included, Canciones De Mi Padre. It stands as the biggest selling non-English language album in American record history.

Watch her documentary "The Sound of My Voice". You will get an idea of just how huge a career she had. Your mind will be blown.

She was the first female to do arena rock, sell out whole arenas like Dodger Stadium or other huge places. I think she once had a free concert in Central Park that drew a million people. Not sure she was the only artist but still a MILLION!!!! That girl could sing. Best pipes of the 20th century.

I saw it too. Unfortunately she now has a disease that took away her singing voice. However she can sing but she can't sing. It's sad because her voice was amazing.

I've been listening to this song for over 30 years! I have it my mp3 player, can't understand a word but that song kicks ass. Gorgeous voice!!!

Her dad is Mexican. She was determined to sing songs from her childhood. The album is Canciones de Mi Padre. I've heard it is the greatest selling spanish album of all time. This album turned me on to Mexican music. She had to learn how to sing this way professionally even though they were childhood tunes. Her father also had a beautiful voice.

Gotta love Linda! ..and no bullshit auto-tune needed :)

Linda could sing anything and make it sound great, right down to the phonebook.

I remember seeing her perform this at the Grammys the year it came out. We all knew she had an incredible voice from all of the hit music she had recorded over the years but she blew everyone away, totally effortless.

I remember hearing her hits on the radio as a kid, when I saw this I was blown away!! The sustain of her voice is insane!

Linda can definitely sing in spanish. One of my moms favorite CDs haha "Canciones de Mi Padre".....First time I heard her I didn't know she was American lol. She's dope 💯🙏🏼

She always did what she wanted. With a voice like that she went to all the different genres and killed them all. Of all the various genres I think she enjoyed doing this one the most. She just seems to love singing here.

Part of my bucket list consists of having the chance to just hang out with you for 5 minutes. You bring me smiles every time i watch you. Genuine smiles ...... not always easy to come by but you bring it every single time. Thanks for doin what you’re doin, I can’t count how many times I’ve laughed out loud with you. You’re the best !!!!!!

Wow! I’ve loved her for decades and am watching this for the first time. Her voice is so strong here. Amazing.

You would like Tracks of My Tears. There's a wonderful live, studio version and you can watch her sing.

She was the first to be named the queen of rock in the 70's nobody will come close to her... The fist female artist to sellout arenas concerts and the best selling female artist of that decade. One of the few female artist in male dominant industry that was truly respected and admired. The quality of her work is amazing, a record of linda will sound the same in live or better.

I play this record constantly. I'm so thrilled a new audience is beginning to appreciate this magnificent work by Linda Ronstadt.

Rock, country, opera, rancheras she does it all! One of my favorites singers growing up.

When she passed 34 years ago we sang Las Mananitas at her funeral which was one of her favorites. My personal favorite of Linda's is La Cigarra from this live album. ❤

Linda Ronstadt's Latina roots go deep, and she does her heritage proud by celebrating them with her incredible talent. Such a gift! I've followed her music since she was with the Stone Poneys in 1968.

When I saw her concert on tv for this album I was so amazed. My mother recorded the concert on vhs and I watched it so many times that it wore out. I begged my mother to buy me this album, I must’ve been 10 yrs old at the time. I still have the album to this very day.

Lind Ronstadt is an amazing talent that only comes around once in a lifetime! Oh my God, what pipes she had to sing those classic songs! It takes very strong vocals to hit those notes the way she did. Singing with a Mariachi is a huge test of your vocals and range. Not only that she touches our soul inside that bring out that inner Mexican heritage and you can't hold back a tear of joy and happiness! Very rare when a singer can do that to you in any language! I am so glad that she recorded those songs and I believe in my heart that she found her calling! Yes she had some English hits, but I believe when she sang in Spanish she let her soul sing and it was magic! Thank you Linda!

There is an abandoned and collapsing tin shack behind my house where Linda and her friends would jam in during the mid 60's, even before she formed the Stone Ponies.

Yes, sir, I was shocked that Ms. Linda Ronstadt was of Mexican blood. Floored, dumbfounded, astonished. I grew up in the 90's, I remember her, "I Don't Know Much", with Aaron Neville. I was a great joy, delight, honor and so proud of my roots. All these songs are classics, so so beloved in our culture. I'm Mexican born, from Guerrero, the state of Acapulco---'and American, muchos thank-you's. One of the most talented gracious voices in American pop/rock music. If you truly wish to be blown away listen to her with Nelson Riddle in that album "What's New?" She's a great woman, I'm saddened by her current affliction. I miss her so........

This women had one of the all time vocal ranges. Her versatility was amazing. And she was Bad Ass when it came to handling her career. A true boss!!!!!

Linda is such a proud to many Mexican people. I always stand a little taller when she sings those classic mariachi songs.

She collaborated with Emilylou Harris and Dolly Parton and released a couple albums. They called themselves Trio. Wonderful harmonies.

Canciones de Mi Padres is a masterpiece. But in 1991 Linda released a second album of Mexican songs called Mas Canciones. It is equally as good and also won a Grammy.

Miss Ronstadt could sing anything or everything. Went to see her Mexican charro show and she got many long standing ovations. WELL DESERVE.

"It's So Easy" just happens to be the title of another one of her hits, a cover version of the Buddy Holly song from the 1950s ... "It's so easy to fall in love." :-) I also recommend Linda's hit cover versions of "When Will I Be Loved?" (originally by the Everly Brothers), "The Tracks of My Tears" (Smokey Robinson), "Heat Wave" (Martha and the Vandellas" and "That'll Be the Day" (Buddy Holly).

I remember when this album came out, people lost their minds. First they thought she was trying to do too much, then she reminded them she was Mexican-American. I always think that she sounds her best doing these songs, because this the music she loves the best

You don't find a talent like she has very often....really at all there is only one Linda Ronstadt.....God bless her!

She is Mexican but raised in America. She grew up singing traditional Mariachi music. This is the type of music I grew up with as a child. I preferred English language music for myself but I would give anything to sing like this.

Linda is my favorite! But please please please you must listen to Etta James “At Last”. It is a master class in singing.

She was the first female artist to fill stadiums on her own merit. Her body of work is incredible. She released 24 studio albums! She sang EVERYTHING from country to pop to rock, to jazz standards, Latin, and even opera! She won 11 Grammys. Her band turned into The Eagles. Her family was of Mexican descent and she grew up singing Mexican folk songs with her family. She never became fluent in the language but could sing the shit out of it, releasing several award-winning Latin albums later in her career! There will never be another one like her!

Linda Rondstant is one of the best female voices I have ever, ever heard. Her, Karen Carpenter and Patsy Cline...awesome...simply awesome. I remember the first time hearing her was on the live Midnight Special show...hosted by none other than "Wolfman Jack", yes Wolfman Jack. Man, she was so awesome. That was her first BIG debut and she skyrocketd to the top, like the very next day!
