She was amazing. She just stood there and sang in street clothes. She was a gorgeous girl but there was no stupid realisation of that. She just loved the music. I so admired that.

I so agree. It is weird. People I work with have never heard of her. To me she is the most incredible singer that ever lived. She would not agree, I know. Every song she sang she made her own, so much better than the originals. J D Souther admitted it - " Linda does it better but hey, I wrote it - it is my song." Elvis Costello is not so generous. She still did it.

@giaisbomb Randy was an original member of the Eagles and quit after the "Hotel California" album and tour. He was also an original member of Poco back in the late 60's. He was also the original bass player in James Taylors band, ending after the "Sweet Baby James" album came out. He is a terrific performer and singer in his own right.

I totally agree. The only one: ever. That is fairly amazing but I think that is her crown. I don't know how she did it but she did it. I have never heard a song sung by Linda that I liked less than the original (once or twice until I got past my original, "sound-track for my youth" prejudice. She just had such a feeling for a song - any song. A one-off and a voice that can sing anything.

@samk1101 Back when Linda was drop dead gorgeous she never thought of herself that way.She has gone through a lot of health issues and still looks fantastic for her age (65) without all the stuff other celebrities do to themselves. We are all so lucky to have had her in our musical lives.

Noticed that a lot of people commented on the great guitar playing on this song, but I looked around and unless I missed it, I didn't notice anyone mentioning who the guy playing that mean Strat is/was. It's one of the great session players, song writers, producers you are ever likely to run across; Danny "Kootch" Kortchmar. I honestly don't think there's anyone in the last 40 years he hasn't played with. If you liked Don Henly's 1st three solo offerings for instance, Kootch is all over them.

She said in an interview her singing was not as good in the early years as it was later, like in this video. She said she spent many hours a day practicing singing her whole life. Her weight gain was from the steroids for her Parkinson, she said on the interview. Those are the meds Jerry Lewis gained 100 lbs from.
