She had the greatest female voice in rock. She deserves every award she has been given.

She is a hero, who dared to walk the line and tell some truths to America as well. Not just a fantastic and talented musician, who looked the part. Linda has it all. LEGEND

Linda Ronstadt cannot song now, but her voice, her greatness and her talent will never die. She is and will always be magnificent.

Back when we had a REAL President, honoring wonderful Americans. We miss you President Obama, and the incomparable Linda Ronstadt.

Linda is my all time favorite female singer. No one deserves the honors bestowed upon her more than she. Thank you, Linda, for all the great performances, over all these years.

I have avoided reading this post for years. It saddens me to know that Linda Ronstadt has lost her voice having been diagnosed with Parkinson's!!! GOD BLESSED HER WITH A BEAUTIFUL VOICE that many people enjoy!!! I pray for a miracle for Linda Ronstadt that her beautiful voice be healed so that she may continue to beautify the world with her one of a kind voice & her songs!!! Extraordinary vocalist. Rare combination of power, sorrow and warmth. For all her megawatt stardom in the 70s and 80s, the pinup girl with killer pipes remained down to earth. A champion of diverse songwriters and musicians. Thanks Linda for truly being one of a kind - in your heart.

It's September, 2019, and I just had the pleasure of seeing the new movie about the great Linda Ronstadt!! What a wonderful talent and a great person! She had a fantastic singing voice!

It is so refreshing to see and hear This homage to Linda from someone who can speak without being vindictive!

Great female singer, her album simple dreams is pure ear candy. Linda had easily one of the top 5 most lovely female voices.

She sure deserved that award. What a beautiful voice she has and all her songs have been about love and life. No trash or filthy words in her song. Thank you Linda for sharing your talent with the world. I pray tou will be healed my dear.

Linda was the best voice I've ever heard. Her song "Hasten down the Wind" is my all time favorite, and helped me through a difficult time. I'll always cherish her voice and she herself.

Her voice was indeed special. This disease has robbed us but she has an incredible body of work. I love her music and I just love her.

I have not always known Linda but always liked her but now she has told so much of her life and sang so many finest songs and seen the past President give his best presentation of many! I am so proud of them both! Richard

Is there anything Linda can't do, I don't think so, she continues to amaze me. I have never seen a performer enjoy his or herself more than Linda does while singing her heart out to her fans. She captured my heart, my soul and my mind so many years ago, and like she always says, "It's so easy, so easy, so easy!!

This really made me cry. Two of the people I admire most in the world.

Linda Ronstadt will go down in history as one of rocks first great and powerful popular voices.

Oh how I have missed Barack Obama! I'm so glad that he bestowed this on Linda Ronstadt. And also honoring the latest great Maya Angelou. Pres. Obama, unlike the current occupant, has always honored women for their brains and talent.

I grew up listening to this lady sing her heart out. I enjoyed every note she sang and still do and I got choked up watching her receive this honor. Good for you Linda!

What a woman...has been giving me pleasure for decades...never get tired of listening to her.

Amen!! ... I love Linda Rondstat!! I always liked her songs!!! I especially loved her Canciones De Mi Padre, since I am a Mexican American. I too, loved hearing the mariachi music/songs that my parents played as I grew up in the 60s and 70s. I pray for you Linda Rondstat!.. I love her and her music/songs, forever!!

I, as a 40 year fan, am so grateful that Linda was recognized with this medal while living. This along with her album, "Heart Like a Wheel" being put in the Library Congress, make Ronstadt, essentially, a national treasure. Well deserved.

I am 62 years old. I so much admire both of these people. OBama - the smartest and most sincere government leader of my lifetime, and Linda Ronstadt. Voice of an angel.

Linda is a Treasure to the World who loved/loves her music.....but also a Tribute to the writers componists and musicians and singers and backingvocals that worked with her to make the music Beautiful!!!.

Linda Ronstadt is an inspiration to many women who aspire to be a singer. Her dedication to music and singing need to be praised. She is the definition of a great vocal.

Wow, two great Americans. Linda and The President have so much class it is so beautiful to see.

Waited and waited for Linda to come out.. Finally.. She covered every genre of music.. The fact she was able to walk up there with dignity and grace.. Bravo, Linda!

I feel happy for Linda receiving this well deserved award and I feel a little proud myself. I felt like in our day the artist and their fans were one. And what we did in the 60's through the mid-to-latter 90's was really extraordinary, We were all a part of it. And it's cool to see it all being recognized like this!

Viva Linda. Big heart, warm soul, she could teach the vain world of entertainers how humility can enhance ones art -she remains adorable and that singing voice was indeed a national treasure.

@@lyrilljackson Dont think so - get the wax out of your ears. Many of ONJ's hits were spurred on from videos or movies. Ronstadt had that unusual rock voice.

She has always been a favorite of mine since the 1960s and I am so happy I have tears of joy for her to receive this honor. Her music will always live on.

Our current disaster of a President, on the other hand, is so uneducated that I don't think I've heard one speech he's made since he's been in office in its entirety because it tires my ears so easily!!

The thing is; that was all the guy could do. Perfect example of talking the talk but when it came to the IMPORTANT stuff like POLICIES, he was an anti American lousy President; actually one of if not the worst. Thankfully most of the crap he tried to shove down American's "throats," was stopped by Federal Judges and Congress. Just too bad America could not get back the plane loads of American TAX DOLLARS he shipped to the number one sponsors of Terrorism on the plant; his Muslim Iranian brothers.

When illness shatters the ability to continue to share a great gift, we all are diminished at the loss. Linda Ronstadt can unfortunately no longer use the gift of that wonderful voice. I, for one an saddened for that. But her indomitable will keep her vital in other ways. Bravo for a life well lived. And congrats on this award, 'cielito lindo'. ♥

I didn't realize that Linda R was so small! Gee, out of that small body boomed this magnificent voice. "Different Drum" indeed!

I am not sure how much of his speech was really by him, but it was an inspiration. Many may pooh-pooh him, but he will go down as one of our great presidents for his love of this country and doing everything he felt was best for it. I hope and am sure Ms. Ronstadt was appreciative for this award. To receive it from him was just icing on the cake. She IS a national treasure. I listen to her almost everyday and am so sad I never had the opportunity to witness her perform live. Thankfully there is recordings. Bless you Linda and thank you for the joy you provide when I listen to your music.

Linda Ronstadt was the last of the pure vocalists. A heartthrob for guys, including Obama, and the rarest of rarities - after a couple of decades of superstardom, the first female arena class performer, she gave fame the middle finger. Just wanted to sing ...

My interest in Ronstadt's singing has been rekindled lately. I just watched one of here concert DVDs last night (Atlanta) as well as an earlier show from Germany. She can really belt out a tune with so much power and yet has the flexibility to sing warm and gently. She's a national treasure.

To this day, I load up my car with her CDs and listen to them all the way to Los Angeles (from San Francisco). Makes the drive go by so much faster. I'm actually bummed out when I arrive.

I have always loved her songs. When record albums were the thing, I actually had to buy duplicates of some from playing them so much. My sister, who is 13 years younger than me, also had to listen. She too fell in love with Miss Ronstadt's voice and songs. And now, my 21 year old niece loves her as well. Thank you for sharing your voice and songs. Love you

Firstly, she’s great! The sound of her voice makes me smile. Truly a national treasure and a lovely person. Secondly,I miss Obama and realize again how lucky we were to have him as president for 8 years.

You deserved it Linda. I knew about your amazing art watching 25 Motown singing with Smokey. Blessings.

I just watched an interview with Linda from last year where she admits she kept this medal under her bed next to a crowbar. Classic! Linda had one of the best voices ever.

Well-deserved. Ronstadt conquered so many music genres - folk, rock, pop, Big Band, Latin, opera - how many singers covered so much territory so brilliantly!

No one more deserving than her. Even after being silenced by Parkinson's, she's so humble. She said in an interview, "I can't complain. I had a long run at the trough. " Classy lady.

Very much well deserved medal for a incredible talent.

Ms Linda Ronstadt. Bet you never could ever imagine receiving such high honors as you've vocalize a perfect pitch for our ears to have immensely enjoyed. Humble honor is yours, even from artist such as: Don Henley and Glenn Fry amongst other artist that are privy to you and you only.
