Lin is "quite a successful songwriter and actor." That's certainly one way to put it. xD! I am so relating to Luz right now. My mother put us in every class imaginable, too. So many classes and camps. I love hearing how great Lin and Luz are with their own kids. Therapy is so important for so many people, especially those that take on the burdens of others. PLEASE continue to reassure your kids. Even now. Especially with young kids of their own. It's so important to bolster your children's confidence. It guts me seeing people belittle children, their own or anyone else's. Omg, it's terrible. Thank you, Luz, for being an inspiration.

This woman is amazing! I could listen to this for an hour! I say the same thing to my kids every day, asking what went well and what didn’t go well that day. If that can produce a child as seemingly well-adjusted as LMM, I’m sticking to it!!!!

I'm definitely taking notes for my future kids. I'm kinda even taking notes now just so I can apply this to myself so I can delearn and relearn stuff that I got from my parent's parenting.

Just saw an interview with Lin and his dad and now hearing from his mom, I understand why Lin is such an incredible human being.

poor old Lin-Manuel Miranda I have Anxiety too it is a horrible and nasty thing but he battled his way through it and in fact he has helped me overcome mine too thanks Lin- Manuel

Lin-Manuel should write a show about his parents.

They are from Puerto Rico...... they are not immigrants, Puerto Ricans are Americans. "We immigrants get the job done" was said in character.

Her mother was Puerto Rican and she was born there, but her father was from Texas, of African American and Mexican ancestry. She actually was brought up in New Jersey.

Has they (Lin and his family) ever told anyone why Lin's first name is hypenated? I kept mindlessly typing the hyphen in between Manuel and Miranda, subconsciously thinking the hypen is more likely due to a joint surname thing.

Lin has said in an interview (the one where he reads the Google autofills and answers the questions) that he is named after a poem his dad read when he was 12. It was written by a Puerto Rican Vietnam vet who had a Vietnamese wife. Lin-Manuel was their son’s name (“Lin” is the Vietnamese part of his name, “Manuel” the Spanish part; representing both parents.)
