@@graziagambarelli327 Antonio also owns a clean heart. It's only for need to survive and lack of better opportunities that he ends up working for the Solara brothers. But in his attitude towards women, he is honest and wholesome too. Damn, the scene when Lenù finally got to bang him was way more satisfying to me than when she finds out that asshole Nino reciprocates her lifelong love, in his miserable own way.

@@ELisa-qf2mw yes but in my opinion she did that in a way of revenge against Nino because after she doesn't want to see Antonio again..

I love the actresses who played Lila Cerullo as a child and as an adult. There is so much that is unsaid behind their eyes, that I'm left searching for answers; and yes, Enzo and Lila are beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time. Lovely pair!

Handsome, kind, intelligent, successful, AND patient? What more could you ask for in a guy? Especially compared to the likes of the other guys in the neighborhood 🤮

I just finished season two and so far, Enzo is my favourite male character! His love is so innocent. He secretly loved and protected her since they were kids. And the scene at Lila’s wedding, he almost was crying🤧 I really want those two to be happy together. (I didn’t read the books so please DON’T give me spoilers, thanks :)

I've recently finished to read the books, and *No Spoilers* but we've all the rights to love Enzo, regardless the ending of this saga (which, in my opinion, was inevitable). He's really precious, not only with Lila, but more in general, probably the only real man in this whole story, even Lenù described him as the most "sensible man she has ever met". ❤️ Btw, following the book's plotline, I think season 3 is gonna be our Season! Can't wait to see it!

By far my favorite male character too, even if I have a crush on Pasquale Peluso and Nino Sarratore. But Enzo even as a child was marvellous.

Io ho letto i libri, e ti assicuro che non ti pentirai di aver detto quelle cose su Enzo 💖 Nell'ultimo poi lo vedrai pure come figura genitoriale, è proprio un tesoro. Anche quando è uscito di scena, ha raccomandato ad Elena di non lasciare sola Lila, di prendersi cura di lei. Un pò mi è dispiaciuto per com'è finita tra loro, ma l'animo di Lila è sempre stata tormentato, anche quando sembrava aver raggiunto una specie di equilibrio insieme ad Enzo. Alla fine ha distrutto anche quello... Perfino Lenú non c'è l'ha fatta. Il finale è un pò pragmatico, ancora oggi non sono certa se mi sia piaciuto o meno, mi mette tanta tristezza pensare che alla fine dei personaggi che abbiamo imparato a conoscere non sia rimasto più nessuno. Chi muore, chi parte, chi sparisce nel nulla senza lasciare traccia... Diciamo che lascia un pò l'amaro in bocca. Comunque il video è fenomenale, hai scelto la canzone più adatta a Lila, sembra sia stata scritta proprio per lei.... Complimenti 💋

Oddio, mi sta venendo l'ansia ahahah 😂 Io sono arrivata ancora solo al 2 libro ma ho notato che hanno fatto davvero un ottimo lavoro con la trasposizione nella serie, le scene sono praticamente identiche a quelle del libro, ed è una cosa davvero rarissima, molte volte nella transizione romanzi > serie tv si perde tantissimo, cosa che assolutamente non è accaduta quí. Non vedo l'ora di leggere il resto, ti farò sapere la mio opinione più dettagliata al termine della lettura 😉

Ho apprezzato comunque che l'autrice non abbia fatto morire Enzo. Temevo che in quanto unico uomo totalmente onesto della storia sarebbe stato ammazzato, magari dopo essersi esposto troppo nella sua convinzione che a far sparire Tina fossero stati i Solara. La mancata morte di Enzo mi ha fatto quasi perdonare Elena Ferrante per come ha trattato la morte di Alfonso. Stavo per piangere, ma ha liquidato l'enormità della sua storia in modo talmente sbrigativo che non me ne ha lasciato il tempo. No, ma tiraci pure scemi per millentordici pagine su quanto fosse importante per Lila un paio di scarpe, poi un personaggio meravigliosamente costruito per 3 libri fallo pure morire in dieci righe e grazie arrivederci eh.

Adoro Lila e Enzo juntos mal posso esperar pela terceira temporada pra saber que rumo vão tomar.

I really think that she loved him too. That she didnt just choose him because it was more safe and only because of that. She left with him as an option to get away from toxic marriage, but at the end of the day he was the only one besides Lenu and Pietro who she really respected(maybe Alfonso too but I really find her relationship with Alfonso the most complicated). She carried about him in her own way, didnt want him to be hurt by anyone. Solaras, police or men from factory. She never talked shit about him like about other men in her life. And really wanted to have a child with him. She loved her daughter so much because that girl was the most likable child of course but i think big part of it was that it was Enzos daughter. Like i mean its obvious that for Lila matters the fact of who is a father. (like i quess she was dissapointed that her son was from man who multiple times raped her) I really hope that the writers and directors see the situation like that too and will show their tender moments that they shared in the book. When Lenu herself admitted how good these two were together, that they were the best part of their neighborhood. And I really love the young actors casting choices, and for these two too. (I dont like only Espanola one) and tv Enzo is really likable(and what a handsome!) while Gaia i quess really can show how complicated and flawed Lila is with showing her hidden emotions. I am writting it and really dont know how i will say good buy to incredible actresses who play teenage Lenu and Lila. And little girls were even greater! So I really hope that new casting wouldnt dissapoint,

You really took the words out of my mouth. I 100% agree with everything you wrote. Lila loved and respected Enzo more than any other man she's been with. Maybe she didn't fully loved him, but that's because of what she has been through, all the traumas, violences and abuses, really broked something into her. But somehow she knew she could count on Enzo. I think she realized he was a trustable man the night they slept together. I feel like she was testing him, to see if he would take advantage of the situation or not. But he didn't and that's what changed everything between them. She fell in love with him without even realized it. And Lenú saw that too. I really loved this trio and enjoyed so much that phase in the books where they lived so close, and they spended a lot of time together. I'm also curious to see the friendship between Lenú and Enzo, it is so underrated but their scenes were always so touching for me. You also mentioned Alfonso and I can't help but feeling so sad everytime I think about what happened to him... 😞 He didn't deserved that ending, probably the only unproblematic character besides Enzo. Anyway they really did a great job with the casting, the young cast is full of talented people 👏👏 A part of me is not ready to let them go, the other is curious to see the new faces of Lila, Enzo & the others.

I loved the moment when she went to meet Lila with Enzo and others(i think Nino went too) and without the words understood that Enzo was on her side no matter what. Yeah I really love the part from when both women got pregnant untill THAT moment with Tina. Before I always questioned their friendship especially Lila. But because everything was good in her life at that moment(the main reason for this is Enzo) Lila could shine more as a person . Lila still had her sometimes unbearable moments but everything forgivable because of her other actions at that time. And I think that Enzo knew Lila maybe little better than Lenu. I mean when he said to Lenu that Lila admires her alot while Lenu never felt that.But Lila was mostly misunderstood by a lot of people in her life. (how much I hate the ones who always blamed her for all their failures! while Lila always blamed her own head and it feels like hated herself...) And I read some readers opinion that Enzo was like a slave for Lila. But I dont think so. They were free people in that relationship and they stayed together so long because them both chose it that way. He chose to wait for her, he chose to stay with her and then chose to leave. And I respect him for that. While other men were too weak to love Lila how she really was and wanted to force her. My fave characters def were Lenu/Lila, Enzo and Alfonso. Antonio, Carmela and Pietro were OK.(Pietro was not good husband by the way. But he was pretty good father, teacher and friend - I will give him that) lenu deserved better man but never met one I quess... Pasquale was good friend but I really didnt like him since the chapter when he visited Lenu and behaved disrespectful towards her. I really love these two female characters its not like there is a lot of so complicated ones that I have read about. Sometimes I recognize myself in one, then in another.

Si infatti, ho finito di leggerli tipo 1 mese fa, e ho adorato tantissimo il personaggio di Enzo. Soprattutto nell'ultimo libro, per come si comportava con i bambini, e la scena in cui si confida con Lenú con le lacrime agli occhi 💞 Mi dispiace un po' per come sia finita, ma credo che purtroppo quel finale fosse inevitabile una volta sparita la piccola Tina 🥺

It's the story of a friendship between two little girls, Lila & Lenú, who grew up in an impoverished Naples during 50s. Enzo takes Lila away from her abusive husband together with her baby, he declares that he has always loved her since they were kids and they live together for almost 30 years, although they never get married. At the beginning Lila sets boundaries for their relationship to be platonic, but after some time they become a real couple. At the beginning they live in a very poor condition and they also get involved in workers activism, but in the meantime they study the dawning science of computers and become rich by founding a company together. They have a daughter named Tina in the early 80s, but she disappears at age 4, she is never found again and we never get to know what happened to her (Enzo believes that she was kidnapped and probably killed by the Solara brothers). This tragic loss slowly ruins their love, together with Lila's general mental health and everyday functioning. In the early 90s they break up and sell their company. Enzo moves to Milan alone and this is where we lose sight of him.
