Because they wanted to cast Alan Rickman as Snape, so they aged up all that generation to make it fit. I still think that it's a bloody shame, because watching the movies as a kid you don't realize how tragic Lily's and James death and, Sirius imprisonment was. You see some middle aged people, not the barely adults that they really were.

I think I read about it somewhere... They just thought that it would be difficult for children to interpret young people as Harry’s parents. So they decided to make Lily and James look older that they are supposed to look. I’d give a link to this information as a proof, but I don’t remember exactly where I heard It😝 Sorry

Look at this cute kitty c: that still doesn’t make sense though, James and Lily died at age 21, Snape was around that same age when they passed too. It would make sense that they remained young while Snape aged. They could’ve always de-aged Alan Rickman for that scene. I just think that the impact of seeing how young James and Lily really were would have been greater to the viewer. We would’ve seen that they were basically kids. Their teenage years only just left behind a year or two ago.

Actually, that’s not true- those are different people- uhm you see in the movies, when it showed lilly getting attacked, that’s a different women?- In that time stamp you put they are like teenagers.- But when they get killed they are adults so that’s wrong.

Life of Mak & T well Lily and James were both only 21 years old! You can see it in the movies and you can read it in the books... they just choose much older actors for the roles🤷‍♀️😅 and this one here is a fandmade edit about the marauders etc.

I hope that when/if they make a Marauders TV show, they cast young actors and set it from their first year at Hogwarts. I hope they show how they became friends despite their differences, how they discovered Remus is a werewolf, how they decided to become illegal animagus to help him. I hope they cast young actors that we’ll see grow up, and realize that all of them died way too young, right when they were just becoming adults after Hogwarts.

@@arnsdii Snape bullied Neville to the point where he became his worst fear, he left Neville horrible mental scars. He bullied Hermione for the simple reason of being muggle born and intelligent. He even called other muggle borns mudbloods when he was a student at Hogwarts. He bullied Harry just because he looked like James.

They deserved better. They deserved to be able raise Harry and see him grow up!!!

I love how everyone can agree that Brianna Fraiser is Lily Potter

And after everything they sacrificed, their son grew up abused, neglected, and abandoned. The manipulations of an interfering old man leading him into life and death situations over and over again, it was his manipulations that resulted in his grand plan of their son basically killing himself at the age of 17, his survival mainly due to luck and happenstance. I think that makes the tragedy of their deaths even more heart wrenching, knowing that the son that they love so much still had to suffer.

They are similar but not the same, they of course look much alike but it's like they have reversed personalities? Because Harry is more like Lily most of the time and Ginny is a prankster and a professional quidditch player, she's just like James. Of course Harry has much of James inside him too, but I still think he's more Lily. But not gonna lie, I love the parallel between Jily and Hinny

I loved and I loved and I lost you *crying. The shouting lines from Harry and Sirius is emotionally impressive. They went up in proper places and I’m so moved when James says “until the end”.

james & lily’s death is one of the most painful deaths in this series

I haven't cried over a video in a while, but "We'll make them proud Neville." Turned on the waterworks

I kept seeing people cast these actors as the Marauders and at one point, I literally thought that there was already a movie that I've just never seen about the Marauders. I was so shook.

okay but the fact that james died thinking lily and harry survived is truly heart breaking.

When I was young and watched the movies (I hadn’t read the books yet), I felt like it was pretty sad about what had happened to them, but it felt less emotional because they were portrayed by older actors. This edit perfectly shows how tragic and sad their story was. It’s so beautiful and all these actors are spot on and I’m so glad almost everyone uses the same ones

It‘s amazing there are no official cast for the marauders but literally every harry potter fans have the same set of casts in their mind

I know they all are not real by any chance but it still makes my heart wrench...

Just a bunch of scenes of these actors (Sophie and Aaron) put together to make it look like it's real. It's such a great compliment though that so many of you think this is from a real movie. 😂

Yes!!!!! This right here is why we need a Harry Potter T.V show. Showing how young the Mauraders all were gives more of an emotional impact. That their lives as a family had barely begun is just heartbreaking. Gives their courage more substance.

amazing edits like these always remind me of the lost potential of the HP movies casting adults who looked well into their 30s/40s to play harry's parents when they were literally my age when they died. like the whole thing is sad enough but to see actual young people playing this 11-17 year olds parents would have made the impact all the more devastating

Everyone's muttering "Always" and making calf eyes at Snape, the poor, misunderstood loverboy. But then "Run! I'll hold him off!" makes me cry a little bit. I hate that ppl have this lasting impression of James as a bully who tormented poor Snape. Ugh...🤧

I don't see it like that I see a harry potter without love in Snape for so long that he nearly missed the chance to save the child she died to protect the sad thing is unlike voldemort he didn't care if anything happened except to the first person to show him actual love and friendship which he gave up for power and never stopped regretting. It's tragic for all of them, while Snape made his choice at that time he was in Slytherin with those who already were talking it to a darker and more voldemort influenced house. So in the end it was all because one evil little boy never knew love was manipulating others to take his side and killed so many people directly and indirectly over multiple generations after he graduated hogwarts the evil boy without love is of course voldemort but ironically if a few more things had been different in James and Lily's time maybe 100s of lives would have been different. Never underestimate what the absence of love compassion and kindness can due to so many lives. And this fact us true outside of the Wizarding World and fiction. Life is full of chances to do better with honor or compassion, yet so often they never take mist if the chances because it's harder to care then to give up on humans in general
