    I just traded in my 2018 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring for the 2023 CX-5 Carbon Edition. Love it! My Carbon Edition is the only trim that comes with the polymetal gray metallic with red leather combination. All trim models come with the Sky-active AWD. My Mazda 3 had the touchscreen but the center console works fine that I usually don't use the controls of the steering wheel much. But the Sky-active combined with the Gvectoring plus in my new car make for better handling. Love my CX-5.

    Have you had any difficulty with using the Cylinder Deactivation feature, which allow the vehicle to go from a 4 cylinder to a 2 cylinder vehicle on the highway /cruise control to save on gas. Do you feel this will damage the engine in the long run? The switching back and forth.

    Appreciate the review. Mazda's are great cars IMHO. We traded in our 2019 Outback Limited with 40k miles for basically what we paid for it in 2019, and opted for a 2022 Outback Limited.

    I purchased my Mazda CX5 in August of last year so it's 1 year old now I bought a brand new 2022 model but I did not get the highest level; what I got was the second level which is I think is called the select series and I love Big Red as I call her. It's a great car it's probably going to be the last car ever own because I'm getting up there in age but so far no problems. When people compliment the great paint job and say "is it candy apple red?" I love saying, No, Soul Red Crystal! I purchased the 5 layer clear coat so it's guaranteed to stay that beautiful color for at least 10 years.

    One thing people don't know is that Mazda build the engine for 2019 model, so the reliability is on par with Toyota (so long as you do the maintenance). Tips: here are the things so far that are easy to replace yourself that I discovered so far. Cabin filter, air filter, and spark plugs (just need the tools for the last one).

    I love what Mazda has been putting out in recent years, dont love the fact their only true car offerings as of this year are the a bit smaller than most compacts Mazda 3 or the truly tiny roadster MX-5 Miata. (which at 6'1" doesnt work for me) I do have hope they bring back the Mazda 6 once they finally release their new RWD/straight 6 platform, but not holding my breath since it seems crossovers still rule the sales charts these days. I know the crossover form factor works for some people, but I just cant get excited about them, not even ones that put sports cars of not that long ago to shame as far as performance/handling limits.

    I've had my 22 CX-5 for three months and put on 11478 miles so far . A lease is not for me. I have usually sold my cars with 250,000 miles on them. My Toyota highlander had 320,000 miles. Regular maintenance is the key. Never had mice in any, just rats that stole a part once at night. Front wheel drive only version no longer available

    You didn't mention the ride quality. I find my '23 to be very bouncy and rubbery feeling. Granted, Omaha roads suck and you're out there in farm country. But I wonder if everyone finds it as punishing as I do. I have the S Select, so smaller wheels which should be a softer ride. But it's quite firm.

    May I ask if there is different in using both sport mode plus manual mode together and using manual mode alone? I don’t feel any but worrying if using both at the same time will harm the engine. Any suggestions??

    In the manual, it says the sudden uptick in rpm for a few seconds then back down is normal (that was a concern for myself and read that was normal so (relief)). Manual mode is ehhh at best, not a difference to merit the use (unless on main roads and highway).

    Cx9 looks great but the biggest issue is there is no 3.5 v6.. Only 2.5 problematic turbo. Next year Toyota release highlander with 2.5 turbo only no more 3.5l v6

  • @jbm0866

    @jbm0866

    Жыл бұрын

    2.5l is quite large for a 4cyl, and with the turbo it can make nearly as much HP, and likely more torque than a naturally aspirated V6. Soon Mazda will have a brand new straight 6 engine (better than a V for 6 cylinders imo) likely mated to some sort of mild hybrid system. Of course by then it will come in the CX-9's replacement (CX-90 iirc) and be one to watch out for in the near future.

    @@kinggzz nope not at all, it was during a time period Ford 4cyl engines and transmissions were crap, and those were the two things I had issues with. The body, interior and suspension were Mazda and pretty good for the time. Having said that, the timing belt snapped at under 40k miles (before normal 60k replacement reccomendation) and the transmission went bad at just under 60k miles. Thats the point I cut my losses and sold it as is to a mechanic who had easy access to junkyard trannies and could do the work himself.
