Mazda is about to be a better brand... but just as leftists are forcing everything to be electric. And then force automatic driving cars, and then make car ownership illegal. If you want to go somewhere you get out your digital money card/Visa and request a car. If you are approved by the gov the car will show up at your house. Everything you say and do and where you go will be recorded in your permanent record. Thank you WEF and Global Billionaires.

Scotty doesn’t like the built in Mexico Mazda’s. All the Mazda engines and transmission’s are built in Japan. The workmanship on the ones built in Mexico would surprise Scotty, I bet he couldn’t tell one from one built in Japan….that’s how good they are. I’ve gone over mine with a fine tooth comb and can’t find a single thing that I can complain about and I’m a jeweler with an eye for detail.

I’m on my second Mazda after driving nothing but US makes and I’m not disappointed. My first was a 2016 Mazda 6 Touring with a non-turbo 2.5 L and the six speed automatic. Great car, no complaints. I would still be driving it today if it hadn’t been sideswiped by a semi. Car was totaled, but I didn’t even get a bruise. I replaced it with a 2023 CX-5. This SUV has the same 2.5L engine, non-turbo, AWD, and same 6 speed automatic transmission. I routinely get 28 mpg around town (zero highway driving and under 50 mph), when I take it out on the highway it’s gotten as much as 42 mpg! Amazing vehicles both made in Japan. Really can’t complain.

My mom had a stick shift Mazda protege from the 90's. It was a fun little car to drive. So when I was looking for a car of my own I kept seeing car and driver articles about how mazdas are fun to drive. I now own a 2015 Mazda 6 Grand touring and I really do love this car. It's not perfect. There are minor things I would change if I could, but overall it's a reliable car and definitely a joy to drive. I've put over 50k miles on it so far and have driven it from PA to Kansas City and taken it on many other road trips. Haven't had to do any engine work on it other than routine oil changes. One of my favorite things about the car is the way the steering wheel feels. There's just something about the way it feels in your hands while you're driving. I felt instantly at home in this car when I test drove it

I've had a duster, a metro, a swift, a nova (corolla clone), a neon, a civic, a neon RT, and a mazda 3. By far the mazda 3 has been the best of them (at least at the 85,000 miles mark). Although the 88 nova (corolla twin) went 260,000 miles. And the Neon RT was kind of a badxxx off a red light. And sure the metro did get 55 mpg. But all of those cars have a "yes, but..." attached. The mazda 3's been just phenomenal. Not necessarily the best in _every_ area, but it does "very well" in a much larger number of areas than any of the others. 8 years old and 85,000 miles on it. And if someone was interested in it, I wouldn't even want to hear their offer. Technically mine was assembled in mexico... maybe I got lucky. Also my civic was the worst of all of them. Maybe I was unlucky there. I dunno. *shrug*

I have had mine about two months, and it is a great choice. A friend who was a lead engineer at a major car manufacturer rates the assembly and finish to much more expensive cars. Best part was the dealer did not try to pile on extra junk, and a couple of options I (my wife) chose were far less than the other two cars I looked at from Japan.

I switched to Mazda, from Honda, two years ago mainly because of the CVT that Honda had gone to. I have the smaller SUV, the CX-30, and love the performance. Since having purchased my model, they have added a turbo option which I don't really have a need for, since the performance of their standard engine has never let me down. My mileage has consistently been about 34.5 mpg for overall driving. I love that they don't use a touchscreen but have hand controls so you don't need to take your eyes off the road; I would only hope that other car companies will use this means of controlling the screen. It's much easier and safer to deal with.

I had a friend who had a 2013 3, it didn't look nearly as nice as the 2014/2015, but he had pretty much all the same hardware under the hood (skyactive 6spd, etc). The machine drives like a dream. They make these for drivers. That's good because there's not a ton of room in it. Compare the 29 cu ft behind the back row to the 40 cu ft in a CRV. It is a helluva lot more comfortable than a CRV though.

Since 2019 I've been driving a Mazda 3 so far very reliable and way more fun to drive. Done a long road trip from Quebec city to Newfoundland doing around 11 hours of driving in a day and it is way more comfortable than the Corolla. after a 3 hour drive from Quebec to Montreal my butt would hurt with the Corolla. With the Mazda, 11 hours of driving in a day and no pain anywhere. Love Mazda, learned to drive on my dad's Mazda in the 90's (1984 Mazda 626 lasted for 17 years) so it's sort of a return to the brand for me :)

@@doax3333 I think CVT was more interesting with the old Honda HX, back when an automatic transmission meant "4" forward gears. With more modern automatics having 5 or 6 forward gears, the advantages a CVT can offer (keeping the engine at it's ideal operating rpm) gets much slimmer. Especially with engines which have variable valve timing, giving them a broader "sweet spot" of rpm's for efficiency or power. CVT's would have made a world of difference vs a 3-speed auto on a single overhead cam engine from the 80's or 90's. Compared to say, a 2015 mazda 3 six-speed with variable valve timing... a CVT isn't going to do much (even when it is working). Then again, I only drive stick. So this is a thing for other people to worry about.

This is why I like you mate. You say it how it is. I passed my test in a Mazda in the UK in late 1970s. Rotary engine, cost an arm and leg in insurance. but was great

I wish I still had my Mazda Protege. Great car, got me through years of great driving. Changed my oil every 5,000 miles. Had very few things done on it, changed to Michelin tires, and never had wheel issues. I got talked into getting a Hyundai, and gave my protege to my brother. He drove it past 200,000 miles and then he gave it to one of his in-laws, and it drove another 100,000 miles and then it died. I guess the in-law just didn't take care of it. Best car, engine made in JAPAN!

@@jayrbagnes4661 If you want a family car, get the Honda. It’s more comfortable and practical than the Mazda. But if you want a car that drives just as beautiful as it looks get the Mazda. The Mazda is way better to drive than the Honda.

One more thing about manual transmission Scotty forgot to mention is if your battery gets too weak to start the car, you can push start it by depressing the clutch, put gear in 1st and come up on the clutch and the engine can start.
