I’ve wanted to become a Physical Therapy Assistant since 10th grade when I broke my knee and had to go to Physical Therapy for over 5 months and it’s my inspiration to help people get better, be able to walk and help them get stronger!! 💕

I love being a PT in a musculoskeletal clinic. Being a PT within the hospital is quite sad seeing the patient’s conditions. But seeing a patient get better is amazing.

Thank you for sharing. I'm PT Aide, and I see that from my mentors (DPT, PTA, OT). One of my duties is to get work with Rx exercises and correcting form and technic. So far, all I know is if I listen to their life story, I can get them to moving or work-out.

Thank you so much I’m 30yrs old and I’m one of those people lol that has a bachelors in marketing but that didn’t pan out for me. I ended up in the retail industry and then Emt. I finally realize that pta is where I want to go and dedicated to pursue. I’m planning on attending pta program at Miami Dade College. I love your videos Thank you so much!!

First time working in the field and all the patients have been amazing. I work with the about 95 % of the time lol. Just have to keep studying until I really feel ready. Loved all ur videos. Oh and.." Its hurts when I do this" lol

I dislike when a patient doesn't fully recover from a knee/hip replacement or a stroke. I like when they are finally free from pain and can stand up and walk by themselves. My payment is their smile.

This video makes me so excited to continue my education in Physical Therapy! I received my BFA in dance teaching and absolutely love it, but my unfortunately surviving financially is near impossible. I shadowed a couple PTAs and realized my passion to become a PT. I love working with people and making a difference in their life. I’m excited to learn more and help people. Do you guys have advice for taking the GRE and what a recommended score would be? Also could you talk about some different specializations within PT. Sports, pediatrics, Parkinson’s (balance), etc?

I am actually in the same boat! I also have my bachelors in dance but am feeling like I need more financially, its so hard to make enough teaching dance. I'm just starting to take my pre reqs to apply for PT school, is going to be a long road but I'm hoping it will be worth it, good luck on your journey!

I’m a PTA in AZ and was harassed and discriminated against. I haven’t been able to get an interview with another clinic since they terminated me for not doing something my mentors told me could affect my future in the field. I want to know if there’s any way to find out if they blacklisted me. I already emailed an old teacher. I don’t even have my 2,000 direct supervision hours yet( I’m probably 200 short).

A PT will spend half of his or her career doing notes (IEs, REs, and SOAPs). That's just the way the industry is right now, if you are an insurance-based practice. Cash-based would be luxurious but not always realistic.

@@AntonioSanson I am thinking and planning on going into the masters program here or try getting in the applied neuromechanics research group. What I like about this major is that I will get to help people out in the future. I also like the research part of the major. I want to also develop plans on helping the elderly with everyday motor skills.

I need a job in PTA to get health care for myself. I have severe low back pain and sciatica pain with no health care. The irony is I don't think I can work in PTA with back pain, and my back pain cant get better without health care. Suicide is actually looking like a viable option at age 39. As she said, the insurance is messing up the financial aspect of medical care. The profit motive. America's economy is in big trouble. I can see most medical professionals having to take a forced 25% pay cut in the next 10 years so the money can go to the bureaucrats and the Elites. It'll get to a point where nurses will be kissing the ass of the AMA to make $40,000 a year which wont come close to keeping up with the cost of living.

Another question, so I heard that it really helps with your application that gets you into the program if you already have at least a part time job in the medical field. What are some recommendations?? Some jobs that I can get the certificate for in a manner of months?? Other than CNA?

A great job to get to help you get into the program would be a Physical Therapy Technician or Physical Therapy Aide. These jobs only require a GED or high school diploma and you have to be over the age of 18. This can be a great way to improve your chances of getting into the program if you work in this job.
