There were many successful Sultanates and Amirates in Ethiopia and Somalia etc. Ethiopians boast much of never being colonized by the West, a true claim indeed BUT HAD MUCH HELP FROM THE ETHIOPIAN MUSLIMS AS WELL. Now Muslims compromise half of the Ethiopian population.

H/Selassie mother name was Jamila Ali. Her brother (H/uncle) name was Jibril. She didn't covert to Orthodox. H/Selassie wife Menon was a Muslim but converted for political reasons. Abiye mother was Orthodox but converted to Islam.

Later when he was running on the PP nonsense he turned around and said she was Orthodox, his father Sunni, and him pente. Just nonsense to get more people to fall for his fascism and racism.

I am Somali and my tribe lives in south Somalia now. But we are originally from showa. We was frontier tribe. We left when showa was captured by the abysinians. Later on the families that stayed saved ilyasu and his followers and came to us in South Somalia. Now his descendants are part of our tribe and are Somali.
