The lens was sent to me for review, but the thoughts are my own - no sponsored links or paid promotion. A relatively inexpensive, simple, lightweight macro for mirrorless cameras.

What a beautiful and peaceful way to explain your journey. Great pics too. 😉
Your macro photography is beautiful! Also the care and attention put into your filmmaking and editing style is really special. It's super refreshing and original.
Great video that shows the true capabilities of this lens. Other vids that I saw doesn't do it justice!
Thanks for sharing this excellent adventure into the wild with your very affordable options in equipment. The Pygmy rattlesnake was the best find on your walk! You can put a sheet of plexiglass between your camera and venomous snakes so you can defeat the heat signature and remain protected as you get right in there :) There really needs to be a backpack-style umbrella holder for image-makers :)
Wow, I came for the lens and stayed for the observations, calm talking voice and stunning shots!
Watching again and again. This video make me relax.
Fantastic shots and lovely review! ❤
I love your content. Your macro photography is really nice. It inspires me to get into it more.
Beautiful photos as always! Yes a lightweight macro rig makes such a big difference :)
Just discovered your channel, i bought this lens a few days ago but didn't have a chance to test it yet. You made some great photos, I can't wait to try it myself this weekend. I have the raynox as well 😊 can't wait 😅 thanks for the photos!

Thomas, I have loved your videos and photos for years. It's a bit like a guided meditation. If you are ever around in the Netherlands I'd love to hang out, hahaha. Thank you!
Once again, such a nice video. Those shots are amazing!
Very nice review and superb images as always ! Impressive cut of landscape / macro / gear shots. Brilliant !
What a really nice video, loved all the sounds and way of filming and adding the shots😊
Cool to see a cygnustech diffuser in your hands! Brenden is a great dude and is super helpful when it comes to advise and any questions.
Excellent video that was well put together and has stimulated me to consider this lens and get back out in the field doing macro again; thank you 😊
Hey Thomas great content! Can see how much love you put into this channel! Do you have any recommended software for photostacking?
Fantastic video, Thomas! Thanks for sharing your thoughts and work. Very soothing and excellent photos. This is the first of your videos which I've seen but I'll certainly subscribe and watch more now.

Stunning photos. Your macro photos is G.O.A.T. level.
Amazing, incredible, i love you jajaj is just what i'm looking for, but i already want a Laowa 60 mm or the 100 mm, i have a Canon 90D so i wanna try the Macro photography 💙
Fantastic tutorial. Loved the background sounds of the critters in the woods. 👍
I've been following you probably since I was 20 now, so about 11 years and you're still my macro idol. Always love and highly appreciate your stuff. I'd been eyeing up diffusers from Cygnustech for a little while. Would love a review. Maybe ones coming from you? Thanks Thomas!

I bought the AK Diffuser mini over the cygna as it’s much better quality.
Jumping Spiders are fascinating. Saw one only twice.
159$? Definitely buying this lens looks like a good cheap way for me to finally dabble into macro photography.

Actually, I had the version one of this lens and switched to version 2 and regret it. Incredibly, the first iteration of it, with the protruding tube and everything, was sharper and easier to use since it has a longer working distance.

@@huskythnoname4697 2x magnification creates a little bit of fish eye effect across the entire frame without cropping. Isn't a 1x better if not cropping?
i cant help myself. but your vids about ur macro photography are relaxing me soooo much!
Thank you for this nice and very informative video. Planning to buy this lens soon.
Nice advice about the importance of a lightweight setup. And darn good images as always. I admire your knowledge of the species that you photograph!
Great video Thomas. Thank you for the info!
Amazing video! Are you planning on doing more macro travel videos?
Wow I love this video. Watching allthe nature, linstening the sound of birds, water, etc make me feel so happy and alive. Thank you!!!
What an incredible video. Great commentary, fantastic voice, good video, astounding photos. Looks like a capable lens... In your hands at least. Cheers, Campbell from NZ.
fantastic shots as usual but your portrait photos of the Sistrurus are truly incredible.
This lens seems wonderful at f16 wow. Another great 7artisans lens is the 7.5mm fisheye. As usual wonderful video, love your work!
You are the Master, fantastic Macro work, Thank you.
You are the bug whisperer! I grew up in Tulsa. I am a big fan. -from S.Korea
Awesome little lens!
Soothing, passionate, detail. Vibrant, inconspicuous, micro-verse. Wild, cruel, nature.
Great video! Not by the lens, its great, but your beatiful macro shots and technik! Congrats!
Beautiful video Thomas. Looks a little sharper than my laowa 65mm 2:1 at f/10-16.
Great video! Thanks for the info, I've just picked up this lens for wedding video detail work!
Great video, great photos! I have a question regarding the DCR250, its diameter is given for 49mm, the same as the diameter of the front lens of the 7 artisan. Nevertheless, the video shows you screwing a step down ring to attach the DCR. What did I miss?
The Olympus lens is 213 gm with lens hood, no caps. It's AF, but MF is available. It's now on my OM-D E-M1x camera, the heaviest Olympus camera, but it has GPS and two batteries. It's splash proof, so extend the hood to keep the glass dry, shield the flash and keep on shooting. The camera supports focus bracketting, 50 megapixels hand held, high resolution (not concurrently), 80 on a dripod.
Amazing images mate as always! Looks like that lens is great value for $!
Best Video I've seen on this lense! Awesome pictures:)
Love it how u review the lens
Very much looking forward to your diffusion video - even with some softbox fabric on my flash and a big tracing paper diffuser "over" the lens, I find most of the "hairs" on arachnids and insects usually completely blown out by highlights/flash reflections :(
Awesome video as all ways :)
The 7Artisans 60mm Mk I was what got me into macro, and this looks even better.
Yeee new video 🤩
Hey @Thomas your images are amazing
Great video. I have the AK diffuser for this lens. I shout manual flash power and sometimes struggle with the amount of light. Do you leave the flash on auto power? Ty
this video is really great , can we use this lens any canon camera ?
Your the man Thomas! :D
Hayran olduğum macro fotografcisi... Harikasin !!
tolle makroaufnahmen. Das Objektiv habe ich mir nun gekauft. ein raynox 250 hab ich auch noch. Aber die macros sind fokus stacking? Damit kenn ich mich leider nicht aus
I love your videos !!
Could you maybe make a video how to make the modt magnification pictures and what Camera you use 😃😊🌺
thanks so much for this video! Recently purchases a Sony alpha @6600 and was looking for a macro lens, now I believe I have found one thanks to you ;)
This is like therapy for me
Nice one!
Great Work!
Beautiful!
Great video! So the raynox 250 fits this 7artisians 60mm? I ask because raynox says it fits diameters of 52mm to 67mm, and the 7artisians is 49mm?

Thank you! They work great together - I just had to get a 49-43mm ring to thread it on - take a look at 11:58 in the video!
Would love to see macro photography of things *other* than spiders and snakes. Those of us with Arachnophobia and Ophidiophobia find videos like this difficult or impossible to watch.

Just got this lens and I’m wondering if maybe if I try to shoot some spiders it would help with my arachnophobia 🤔
Amazing photos! Let me ask how you work with manual focus. I mean zooming in and out of your camera? Thanks for sharing.
Every shot worthy to be published in natgeo
Cool video!
This video is awesome, so many great shots and such inspiration for such a damn amateur such as myself 😂
Bagheera kiplingi - a species of spider from the family of jumping spiders, inhabiting Central America in the area from Mexico to Costa Rica. The distinguishing feature of this spider is the way it is fed.
Do you think it is suitable for dental photography?
Is there any optical difference between this one and the mki lens with the removable barrel? Can't seem to find the second version n Australia.
Have you considered comparing it to the Meike 60mm f2.8 macro?
Starting to look like me with with the tiny epl5 and meike flash haha I was curious about that lens for my fuji, but not too much incentive to go after one over reverse lenses, without auto aperture
I started using Olympus for macro a couple of years ago. I use their entry level omd em10. It's light weight, micro four thirds depth of field and it's in built focus stacking makes for much easier hand held focus stacks. Heavy gear can take the fun out of photography.
Wow, lookin' amazing at F10 !!! I have the sigma 105mm, but haven't dedicated enough time to it to fully explore the possibilities.. Is this mainly for mirrorless only ? ( I have entry lvl Eos Canon )

This is only for mirrorles APS-C (and MFT i guess)
Hi i am thinking of getting a jumping spider and I have an enclosure but it is 60×40×40 is it to big or do it has to be taller, thank you
Use to see those little green snakes all the time back in Oklahoma don’t see them much anymore one of my bucket list- gna ck see if this lens fits on my Oly m51
Hi, I found your videos informative and relaxing at the same time, keep it up! Just a sidenote: "in situ" is pronounced "in seetoo", give Caesar what belongs to Caesar. Cheers from Italy, cradle of latin.
Nice snakes, going slow with herps is always a good idea. They detect fast movement and react to perceived threat.
Excellent video. Very pleasing to watch. What mics do you use?
Hi Thomas. Do you move the whole camera backwards and forwards to achieve focus?
Is the new Laowa 65mm 2x easier to use?
Can i use Raynox dcr with this lens???
